Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Shule was sitting in her den this morning, one of the Sentinels just outside, guarding. At this current moment, she was trying to figure out a plan for the day. Her Mercenary Superior had disappeared, she only had two Sentinels, and the Regime needed more members. Which, their lack of number at the moment wasn't all bad. It meant more prey to go around, and the Regime was overall better fed. But also, they didn't have how many they needed to keep themselves safe in case of an attack. That's how her life went. Always one more thing to do, no time to relax despite knowing she needed a break. She didn't even notice someone had entered her den until a scent tickled her nose and she lifted her head, eyes narrowed slightly at the cat who would invite themselves in while she was clearly deep in thought.

The beady-eyed mole rat sat almost a little too close to Shule, wide-eyed and staring at their leader with a toothy grin upon their face, without a word. If one didn't know Sundara, surely anyone would see the face of a murderer, creepy and sadistic, but Sundara truly was harmless...at least to everyone's knowledge.
"Something seems to trouble you," the creature replied in a giddy tone that didn't match the concern it was trying to portray, "is ther anything I should pursue?"
Her posture relaxed slightly given that it was her Sentinel who entered. Well, she was pretty sure it was her Sentinel, she wasn't actually sure. Shule's tail twitched as she remained silent for a moment. If she was unnerved by Sundara's presence, it hardly showed. "I was considering ideas on how to bring new members into the Regime. For the first time in my leadership, we have an overabundance of Scouts, and not enough Mercenaries." She could draft some of the Scouts, sure. But that was a balancing act in itself, and they were likely better off with bringing in new cats, given they needed the members anyhow.

"Give or take, in or out," Sundara pondered, "why not trade mercenaries for a scout?" It was uncanny really, how strange the cat seemed, now licking their paw and brushing it against their ear, "we could steal some fighters from another clan, we'd win a war if we had a good plan."
Shule wondered again, why she made this cat Sentinel. Sundara was certainly strange, albeit with sound logic. She shrugged her shoulders. "Yes, we can draft a few of the Scouts, but take too many, and we run the risk of being back where we were, with not enough to feed the clan. New members is wisest, though in my experience... kidnapping is a bad idea. We're better off convincing families to join, cat who will join the Regime, and then be part of it for lifetimes to come."

The mole rat pouted. Kidnapping sounded like a lot of fun. Not to mention if they brought some of those DayClan cats into the tunnels, she was sure that they'd get lost and eventually just end up joining the Regime like a kid getting lost in IKEA and being assimilated into the staff, because that was, of course, how the world worked.
"What if we build a labyrinth maze," Sundara cackled, "we'll have them here stuck for days!" A creepy grin appeared on the cat's face. "Maybe they'll finally relent, if they can't get out they can't dissent."
Honestly, Sundara probably wasn't wrong. That's how it worked. You trespassed, you ended up a prisoner, and you either went back to your clan, died, or joined the Regime. So that made enough sense. "These tunnels are already a labyrinth to most. We've already had too many cats falling into these tunnels. I'm not sure how DayClan hasn't noticed it being a problem. I'm not sure taking DayClan cats is the answer, however. I don't know what Glowstar teaches her clan, but whatever it is does not tend to mesh well with the Regime." Then again, maybe that was just the fact that Shule didn't particularly like Glowstar that she held this opinion.

Sundara giggled. "Maybe Glowstar's bad at the spot the difference game, what a shame" they cackled with laughter that sounded a little too...loud for a nonexistent joke, "maybe she's blind and needs some new frames."
Skipping around until they found a nice fancy little rock, Sundara seemed to be rummaging through Shule's things in curiosity, clearly unaware of this thing called personal space. "We could always round up kittypets," they replied in a sing-song voice, "we can bribe them with some tasty croquettes!"
"I would put that down, that's Sean's. He doesn't like cats messing with his rocks." Shule told Sundara evenly, though there was the notable coolness to her tone that suggested the Sentinel should probably obey. Mostly because Shule didn't want to have to try and explain to her mate why she'd let a Sentinel steal a stone from his precious collection. "That's a better idea. But kittypets are often lazy. It won't be easy to make them soldiers."
"Perhaps they are lazy, but I can bet before we're through, mister I'll make a man out of you," Sundara giggled, still rummaging through the rock collection as if they hadn't heard a single thing Shule was saying, "we can make them swift as the coursing river, with all the force of a great typhoon, with all the strength of a raging fire, and mysterious as the dark side of the moon."
Shule did stand up as Sundara refused the order, not so gently grabbing the Sentinel by the scruff and outright dragging them away from Sean's collection. "I said don't touch the rocks. They're not yours." She stated, her tone colder now. If there was one thing you shouldn't do to the Commander of the Regime, it was disobey a direct order. And while Shule probably would have let it slide if she knew Sundara personally well enough to trust them, this was not the case.
"Ask Sean if you'd like to see the rocks. They're not mine to allow you to mess with, even just for fun." Shule answered. "Besides, let's focus on the matter at paw. You wanted to recruit kittypets, as I recall."

Sundara continued to pout, though they eventually circled back to Shule's question. Perhaps later they'd go find Sean and bother them about the shiny rocks too. "Kittypets, loners, rogues, any of them will do I suppose," Sundara shrugged, "they all need to find a place somewhere, whether they'll fit in is up in the air."
"Any methods on picking out those most likely to succeed rather than just trying to get the masses to show, who might run at the first sign of hardship?" Shule pressed.

“We could always plant some traps,” Sundara suggested, “a fitting cat won’t settle for scraps.” Sundara pondered once more. “Or perhaps we can make them go through some trial,” they snickered, “we’ll pick the winners of this game of survival.”
"I think a manufactured scenario could work, though ideally, we don't kill them. Even someone weaker could still be useful if they have healing knowledge, or are good with kits. Though I agree with the scraps thing, we need cats who can show restraint and thoughtfullness." Shule tapped her paw on the ground. So, a recruiting mission. One to test potential soldiers on whether or not they're fit to join the Regime.

Sundara nodded with a grin. "We do we do, I'm sure we'll find someone new," Sundara whistled, "what are you planning on doing? Is there a to-do list I should be reviewing?"
"To do list? Get everyone of our higher ups together would be the first step. We should be talking to the other Superiors and such about what we need for ranks. What we need is a test that can determine where cats could fit in in each rank." Shule answered. "So, meeting, brainstorming with the others, and then we can implement a plan of action."
Her stomach chose that moment to grumble. Curse her body for actually needing sustenence. "But first things first, food."

"Food?" Sundara seemed to perk up at that, all other thoughts flying out of their mind. Meetings, brainstorms, bah! That was for the future. Food was for the now. "What's the mood?"
