[This is for all of Littlestar and Silverfringe's kits]
"What story would you like to hear?" Littlestar questioned, looking over the assembled group of kits at her paws. She had promised to tell her kits and grand-kits a bed time story, now that the sun was beginning to set. Bight rays of orange, reds, and yellows filled the sky with the dark midnight blues creeping in . The promise that darkness would soon overtake their camp "I picked last time, so this time one of you should get to choose" her fluffy tail folded over her paws as she waited on their answers. Of course most of the stories she told them were about the sun god, but sometimes they would ask her for stories about herself or other clans. The minds of kits knew no bounds. "Oh! I have one I wanna hear!" Vividkit was of course the first to speak up. Despite being one of the smaller kits she certainly had one of the loudest voices and most insatiably curiosities, "Tell us the story of what you did after you escaped from Bloodystar's prison! I've asked all kinds of cats but no one really knows, I'm so curious!!"
"Hmmmmmmmm..." Fatekit jumped down from his mother's back and settled down next to her. "Well, you've already told us soooo much about the Sun God, why don't we hear a story about you?" He looked up to his mother's flank and traced his paw along one of the long, flowing scars that almost seemed to be drawn onto her flesh. "How did you get these? They look so cool! Could I get them one day? Maybe get one with a sun on it?" He paused. "Well, after we hear about escaping Bloodystar."

Littlstar chuckled at her kit's curiosity. She didn't talk about herself very often with them, much preferring to teach them about SunClan and it's culture and religion. She hadn't even really talked a lot about that time with anyone... even Skipstep didn't know all the details "Sure, I supposed it is about time you learned at least a little bit about that time in my life" she chuckled. She wouldn't tell them everything, but it wouldn't hurt to tell them at least the beginning of that story
"Are you all sure that is the story you want to hear? How I escaped Bloodystar. I'm afraid you'll be disappointed. It's not as exciting as you might suspect"
She looked down at Fatekit who was tracing her scars. It wasn't really all that strange for him to be curious about, but something about the way he looked at them unnerved them "No Fatekit, you do not want scars like these" she replied softly "but if you want a sun I would be glad to paint one for you"
"Nah I think it'll be an exciting story full of twist and turns, betrayal, heartache and it's all okay cuz we know it has a happy ending!"
Who would have thought that Vividkit was so theatrical? It seemed as if he head never left the clouds after the Sun God yeeted her out of the gorge the other day.
"But after that I do wanna hear about your scars too!"

Lightkit was an observer first, before he ever spoke. His...aunts? were all bouncing up and down at the chance to hear a story, but Lightkit knew that regardless, he'd hear something interesting. He still didn't know much about the Sun God or anything, but he assumed eventually, he'd learn it all. Perhaps one day, he'd be plenty more talkative but for now, he wanted to sit back and see how things went.
"Who was Bloodystar?" he piped up after a while, "and what happened? Did he try to kill you?" His eyes shone brightly in curiosity, despite his own tentative personality.
"Whoever he is, surely he's no match for Littlestar!" Lambkit piped up, bracing himself on Lightkit's shoulders as he stood on his back paws to get a better view. It was hard to get a good spot these days with how many kits there were. "Obviously, because Littlestar is here and Bloodystar is gone!" he explained, adjusting his paws so that he was more or less just clambering over his littermate.

The silver queen chuckled "You may as well know the truth. You will find out sooner or later"
She settled down into her nest, getting comfortable for the story "I suppose I should start with who Bloodystar was. A long time ago, he came to SunClan with his siblings and his parents didn't stay around for very long. He was very young, but the Sun God saw something in him, and he was chosen to be my Promised" she could still remember that day vividly. How full of life and energy he was, so excited to be able to serve the Sun God "Back then he was very energetic and very devoted to the Sun God. He wasn't always the smartest cat, but he worked hard and was dedicated to SunClan"
"Sounds like Fatekit!" Vividkit giggled, booping her brother gently on the head, "Full of energy and super devoted BUT he did climb to the top of the waterfall without thinking about how he was going to get down..."
She gave her brother the side-eye as if daring him to do or say something to challenge her. She was baiting him, of course, and was already thinking of the moves she'd pull if they started play fighting over it. stardance

“We worked together for many moons, until one day he fell in love with my daughter and your older sister, Satinpaw. He was the age of a young warrior, and she but a young apprentice. I left SunClan in his care for a short time, and came back to find he had not only started a war with MoonClan but that he and Satinpaw were now engaged. Seeing the two of them together, it infuriated me, and I over reacted. I forbid the two of them from being together, and treated both of them unfairly. It wasn’t the fact that they wanted to be together that bothered me, only her age and tiny size. Back then I thought that I was protecting Satinpaw from going through what I had as an apprentice. Falling in love far to early, getting pregnant, and nearly dying trying to bring my first litter into this world. I was so concerned for her physical well being, that I put their emotional needs second. It was cruel of me and wrong ” Littlestar took in a deep breath “but I can not go back and change that now…..”
“The two of them began meeting in secret behind my back, despite my best efforts to keep the two of them apart. Satinpaw ended up pregnant with his kits anyway. This pushed me over the edge, and for time I even demoted him to the rank of initiate. Giving him the name of idiot brother, until he could prove to both me and the Sun God that he was worthy of my trust once more. Not long after he had climbed up the ranks again, the three of us took a walk out to MoonClan’s border to work out our differences. Things were a little better then, I had since apologized for my actions but the damage had already been done. It was that day that Satinlights fell into the river. We never found her body, though we spent many moons searching. I even crossed the border into MoonClan, desperate to find her. Bloodyrondo was never the same after her death, it was the beginning of his descent into madness”
It didn't take much to bait the energetic young tom. The tom's attention span was as short as a goldfish's, and he had long since disengaged with his mother's story. So his sister's challenge was an easy jump for him. "I bet Bloodystar didn't even do that!" He stuck his tongue out at Vividkit. "I bet you would never do it!" Despite the many talks since that day, the kitten was unashamedly proud of what he did that day.

Despite being a Janus, Lacelily was still a kit like her littermates. At least in size and mind. She had already begun her training but loved listening to stories such as this. She listened quietly, waiting for the end of the tale, soaking it all in like the silver she-kit would never hear another story again. This could be important or useful information, right? Regardless, it was entertaining.

"Eventually everything boiled over during a gathering of the Forest Clans. Our former Soothsayer and a medicine cat confronted both me and the Sun God in front of the other three clans. A lot of things were revealed during this gathering that I had no knowledge of. In the end I decided that the Sun God had become too corrupt, hurting the very cats he had sworn to protect. I spoke with the ancients, and they to were in agreement. Something needed to be done, before not only SunClan but all of the ForestClans were destroyed" Littlestar paused leaning down to lick Lacelily who seemed almost in a trance as she listened to the story to give her a bit of comfort
"In that moment I knew what needed to be done, just like what had happened in the stories of old. I opened myself to Selene and the Ancients, and they used my body to kill the Sun God so that he could be reborn and molded into something new. I don't recall much of what happened while they controlled me, only that when they released me I began to fall from atop the tree and lost one of my lives. I struggled for a long time after that with my health, the powers of both the moon and sun to much for body to handle. I knew then what was coming next, at least in part. However, I never could have predicted the cruelty and horror my promised would put the clan through. Bloodyrondo seized control of my weakness to take over SunClan. He dragged me in front of the clan, carved this moon into my forehead, and inprisoned me and the rest of our family"
"Yeah, I wouldn't do that cuz I don't have a deathwish, Fatekit!" Vividkit giggled, batting playfully at her brother although her blows didn't land. She decided not to mention that just the other day the Sun God had thrown her out of the gorge and into a tree, which was a much greater and more dangerous distance to travel that Fatekit's little stunt with the waterfall.
She then turned her attention back to Littlestar and her canary yellow eyes went wide as saucers. Her smile disappeared and her tail began to wave back and forth against the sandstone, stirring up a tiny cloud of dust.
"Wait... so you let the Moon Goddess into your body and used her power to kill the Sun God!? I'm sorry mama but you really sound like the bad guy here! How is that even remotely OK!? And how is Bravewolf still alive if you already killed him?! I'm so confused!"
Fatekit rolled his eyes. "Well, I'm still alive, so you should be too! Your just too scared to try it!" He stuck out his tongue before his attention span lapsed and he started listening to his mother's story again. "Yeah mom, why did you let the Moon Goddess in!? I really don't think you could be a Priestess if you helped the enemy."

Littlestar chuckled, not surprised by their reactions really. They had been raised to the Sun God as good, so the news that their mother had killed him would be quite shocking "It is what the ancients required of me, my sacred duty to ensure that SunClan could continue on long after I was gone. Had the Sun God continued on that path, not only would SunClan have been destroyed but the Sun God himself. The Sun God has an immortal soul, but his true power comes from those that believe in him. SunClan had lost faith in their deity, the from he had taken no longer serving the cats he meant to protect. He has lived for for more years than you can imagine, and when he remains in one form for to long he begins to loose his connection with his humanity"
The silver queens paused "Perhaps I was the bad guy in this story, at least to those whom didn't understand. The moment I decided that killing the Sun God was what needed to happen for the sake of all those that I loved my life was forfeit. I was willing to give up all nine of my lives, to ensure SunClan's future. Just as in the stories of old, sometimes the only way to ensure life is with with death. However, one can not simply just kill the Sun God. His soul is immortal, what I did was take away his physical form so that he could be reborn. To grow up, and regain his connection with the mortals that worshipped him. To see their struggles, understand their emotions, and feel their pain. For that I was willing to give up everything. In that moment it didn't matte where that power came from to achieve what needed to be done. Only that it was done. The ancients warned me that by taking in the Moon Goddess energy, I to would perish with the God I sought to slay. I accepted the terms, only... I didn't loose all my lives that day"

"Wow," Lightkit's eyes were as wide as the moon, "that's so cool..." He absolutely worshipped the sun god, yes, but the thought of a cat being able to slay a god, a godslayer...that was just as fascinating. "Do normal cats get to become gods, gramma?"

Littlestar chuckled "No, nor would I want to become a god. With great power, comes the responsibility of wielding it"
She ruffled the fur on her kit's head with her paw "All I want is to keep my family and clan safe and happy. Power, it is something that can corrupts you from within. Slowly eating away at whom you are, until you no longer recognize yourself. Power can give you strength, but can just as easily make you crumble"
