Magnoliablush slowly opened her eyes, that warm light of the sun filtering into the treatment den and landing perfectly onto her nest. She couldn't remember a whole lot, but the sun felt nice after being so... cold? That's right. Last thing she could remember she had been in MoonClan to help set the spirits to rest, when they had been attacked. She struggle into a sitting position, moaning slightly at the rush of pain. Luckily she had been heavily medicated, but she didn't realize how hurt she was. Her tail was gone, only a small stump left behind. The wound on side of her head also severe, and there was little doubt that she had a concussion. What was even more surprising? The silver form that was stretched out in front of her nest sound asleep... "Mom? what...." she whispered softly as she heard the sound of approaching footsteps
"Magnoliablush...!" Valleyrose had only stepped away for a moment to get something to drink. Even though the twins had never been particularly close, the calliby she-cat hadn't left her sister's side for very long. Magnoliablush would need someone she trusted at her side when she woke up and Valleyrose had offered, no, demanded, to be that cat, "I'm so glad to see you're awake... its been days... how are you feeling?! Oh! I almost forgot to say, but don't get up or move too fast, your head wound was severe and any sudden movements could reopen it."

Magnoliablush blinked, trying to understand what exactly was goin on. Being injured made sense, but she wasn't sure who it was that had hurt her "Days?" she replied, her letters almost slurring together making it difficult to understand. It was hard to think the way her head was pounding inside of her skull "What.. What happened?" her breathing was kind of ragged, "My head hurts, its hard to think.. What about Snakebounce... Is he ok?"
"Yeah everyone else is okay. You were the most banged up of the bunch," Valleyrose cooed, laying down next to her sister and gently stroking the back of her fur. The hard part was coming up, though, something she was all too aware of as she wrapped her beautiful, plumy tail around her sister's back, "The good news is your prognosis is good. You'll have no problem returning to your Warrior duties after a week or so of rest..."
She paused, struggling to find the words to say what she was trying to communicate. Finally she sighed and placed her paw over Magnolishblush's, "But I have some bad news, too. Your tail... it's gone. I'm so sorry, sister."

"Well that is good news"
Magnoliablush laid her head back down on her paws, having to rest for a week wasn't fun but it could have been worse she supposed..."WAIT... WHAT?"
Completely forgetting her sister's early warning about not moving to fast, and spun around to look at where her tail should have been. Her whole head swam, trying to bring the view into focus. Her back end was bandaged tightly, but her sister was right. Her tail was gone...
"WHAT IN THE SUN GOD'S NAME?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!"
Valleyrose grimaced, knowing full well that Magnoliablush's reaction to the loss of her tail would be... theatrical. Of the two her twin was by far the most vain and one feature that she was particularly proud of was her beautiful, long, flowy tail. While the sisters were mostly SunClan blooded, that one quarter WaterClan ancestry was all too apparent in that singular feature.
And now Magnoliablush's was gone.
"Calm down, sister, it'll all be OK. There are full-blooded cats in SunClan born without tails. No one will think any less of you for it!"

"MY TAIL" the she-cat sobbed, breaking down into near hysterics
"I don't care what they think, I care about what my mate thinks!!!Paintedcanyon is going to think I'm hideous now!!!!!" she wailed, as Tinymutiny stirred on the floor, eyes snapping open to reveal the golden orbs underneath
The silver she-cat rose into a sitting position, before closing in on Magnoliablush. At first it almost looked like she was going to strike her, but instead she brushed her daughter's cheek with the back of her paw "Then he never deserved you. True love isn't swayed by mere apperances"
"Tinymutiny is right," Valleyrose added, doing her best to sooth her sister even though she was realizing pretty quickly that her mother was outclassing her, "There's a lot of beautiful things about you and not a single one of them has anything to do with your tail or lack thereof."

Magnoliablush was nearly hyperventilating, feeling light headed and faint "But the first compliment I got from Paintedcanyon was about my tail!!! How can I face him now???" she knew her mother and sister were right deep down, but the shallower parts of her were completely revolting against this no revelation "Does he know yet?!?!?! Maybe I can build a fake tail before he finds out that it is gone"
"I'm pretty sure he knows, Magnoliablush," Valleyrose said slowly, carefully, "And the only thing he's been worried about is you. He hasn't mentioned your tail once."
It broke her heart to see her sister so torn up about this. She'd give her her own tail in an instance if she could, but that wasn't the reality that they lived in.
"I can make you any kind of plant decoration you'd like to cover your scar while your fur grows back in, but I don't think you even need that. You're still just as beautiful as you always have been, sister."
