Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Lover's Peak is one of the higher points on the mountain, found far above camp and off a difficult pathway filled with icy spots and loose rocky terrain. Its name has changed many times over the years, but most commonly it's known as Lover's Peak. The rocky terrain of the mountainside is never easy to travel, but this close to the edge of the mountain and on a rocky area, it's dangerous. But that hasn't stopped cats for generations from treaking up to this spot. Overlooking the land, it's a beautiful place to gaze upon the territory the cats of WinterClan call home. Plus it's secluded enough that few venture up here each day, leading it to be a perfect place for lovers to meet privately. Though the cliffside is not easy to find, many still stumble across it. It's never specifically shown to others, especially to students on their first trips into the lands, or visited on patrols like the rest of the territory is mainly due to the difficulty of the terrain but also because of the legend behind the location.
Legend has it that there were once two lovers, forbidden by their families to become mates, that used to meet there on the cliffside. The terrain to get there is dangerous, covered in icy spots and jagged rocks. Only the most skilled are able to make it up the mountain to this hidden hideaway. The two lovers from WinterClan would climb up here every night to meet. But one night, a storm came in just as the two lovers were supposed to meet and covered the area in a fresh layer of ice and snow, making the path even more dangerous than before. One lover awaited at the top, having arrived before the storm hit. The other though, was not as lucky. They made their way up the mountain during the storm and lost their life. The jagged rocks took the lover’s life and the other remained at the top, still waiting. When the morning came and the lover still hadn’t arrived, the one who’d waited all night finally descended the cliffside and found the dead body of their lover. Tears ran down their face, freezing in the cold temperature around the lovers. Death soon took its toll on the second lover, and both laid there, frozen. Neither of their bodies have ever been found. Some believe that the storms of WinterClan have claimed them and covered them in snow and ice, making them unrecognizable. Others say they didn’t die but ran off to another clan to be happy with each other. Their true fate is unknown, but their story lives on.
It's this legend that keeps cats searching out the cliffside. Whether they're adventurers, lovers, curious if it even exists, or just happens upon the place, someone always finds Lover's Peak. They'll never tell you where it is though, as it's a special place and a sanctuary to many. One such cat who found this place moons ago was Brokensight. He was just a student when he stumbled upon the cliffside and only realized where it was that he'd happened upon later after hearing the tale of the Tragic Lovers. It was a sad story but one that made him determined to find the place again But he never would. The war against Primal Instinct took his eyesight, and his chances of ever finding the Peak again. The tom tells the tale though, the one of two lovers and their tragic ending and never tells where you could possibly find this peak. It's all a part of its charm, the journey and luck it takes for finding such a place.
Unseeing eyes gaze off out into the territory from the camp's entrance. The winds whisper to him, rustling his fur as the sun warms him from its place. Brokensight is thinking back on the tale and the place he found that fateful day. Part of him wonders who else has found it as of recently. Those who have, when asked will tell you it exists, but that doesn't mean they're always believed. Especially true when no one will admit where the Peak is found. He smiles, nearly laughs at the thought of one of the younger students finding the place today. Few told the story of the lovers anymore to the kits, it was just overlooked that way. But it always got told when someone came back talking about a cliffside and a beautiful view they found.

She had just returned from a walk and a hunt. As usual there were flakes of snow clinging to her tan and black tortoiseshell pelt. The she-cats fur was far shorter than most of her clanmates, but she was full blooded winterclan all the same. She apparently had a great grandfather with short hear and large, tall ears like hers but she had long forgotten his name. Even her mother had barely remember it and she died over a year ago at this point. Time had flown and know the warrior was all alone. In her heart was resentment to her mother for leaving because Willowdream had made the decision. Now, Indigocrown was a cat of few words and even fewer explanations. Something about the way Brokensight looked out, unseeing, over the territory stirred something in her. It felt like he was looking for something. Waiting. She knew that feeling and had to admit it peaked her interest and drew the she-cat in.
"Are you waiting for something?" She asked, standing a few feet away as if trying to be aloof, refusing refusing look at him even though he could not see her either way.
"Waiting? Hmmm." He just hummed and smiled, eyes still trained out in front of him. He couldn't tell who it was that was speaking to him but he didn't mind. Really, he wasn't waiting for anyone but at the same time he was wondering about something, so in a way, he was waiting. News of that place, the one few find and no one speaks the location of. Brokensight waved his tail near him, inviting the cat to take a seat if they so desired. "Not really waiting, more...wondering about something. It's a place, well a..legend if you will. But I haven't heard anything about it in a while."

He interest was piqued and her tail twitched a few times from him pausing and holding out, as if anticipation was gripping her. She could not help but be curious when he was mysterious and cryptic like that. "Would you care to tell me which story? I may know it." Indigocrown had always been fascinated with stories and legends of Winterclan, spending many hours with the queens and ancients to hear about their history. Without knowledge of times past cats would just be doomed to repeat the same fates over and over again. She thought that perhaps by learning about these fates she could learn not to repeat the past. Not to be like her mother.
Brokensight was by no means trying to be cryptic but was merely lost in thought and trying to find the correct words to speak with. But he smiled now, overjoyed that Someone was interested in the tale. Maybe, just maybe they would find the place one day as well and understand the wonder it possesses. “Have you heard the one of the Lovers? It’s not told much anymore but it’s always been a favorite of mine.”

She sighed. Of course it was that story. "I know it well. It was my mother's favorite story and I heard it many times growing up. It's a very sad story. Can I ask what the appeal is to you?" Indigocrown felt that dying for the sake of love was silly. When both die then the love and memories you shared died and became meaningless. The tan and black grizzled she-cat did not care for or want a love such as that. It was too sad and she had been through enough death.
"Hmm, it's not as you think. I do not agree with the second lover dying with the first. You see, it's harder to live in heartbreak than die for it. Easy to die, harder to live, you understand?" Brokensight knew many enjoyed the tale for the fateful lovers who didn't survive in the end. Some told the tale with more details about their live life, their families, and why it was forbidden, but not him. No his fascination with the tale was that it lead to a real location, a fabled place few believed existed.

She nodded in partial-understanding. "I do. I still think it is foolish to require another cats existence for your own. That is an excruciatingly dangerous game to play and it never ends well. Someone must die first." It was very clear in that moment that she did not understand. The grizzled tan she-cat had never experienced love and had fully expected her parents to arrange a marriage for her before their passing. Now, left to her own devices, she found it rather unappealing as cats ran around tripping over each other, and for what? They never seemed to go that well.
"Oh? Is that what you think the tale is solely about?" How interesting. Sure there were many meanings to the tale, and one of them was to love whole and fully as the two lovers had, to dedicate yourself to what you love until death. But that wasn't the only one and many interpreted a few different meanings in the tale. Few though, few knew that it spoke of a real place hidden away in the mountains.
Brokensight smiled but answered her question. "Not yet. I have my sister and I have faith that I may one day find love but I haven't yet."

"They say their bodies are still up there, frozen together as if that is romantic. Romance is dead, literally," She snorted. Who knows, maybe it died with the two. "Have you ever been up there? My grandfather claimed that's where he met my grandmother, but I think it's more storytelling." She hadn't known her grandparents well, but apparently they had been deeply in love.
"I'm not convinced it's real. It seems like an excuse for cause to do crazy things they normally wouldn't."
“I’ve been. Only once though, stumbled upon it as a student. Never did figure out my way back.” Though, that was partially because he’d been blinded not long after that day. But he could still remember the sight. Brokensight had never seen the mountain in its fullest but from that peak, a sight you had to experience to believe. Maybe that’s why no one told where it was, kept the magic and wonder about the place when you find it on your own. A sly smile made its way on his face while rising to his paws, “won’t get me to tell you how to get there though. Seeing so believing as they say.”

"No worries, I wasn't going to ask," She mused with a flick of her ear. "Are you going to look for it one day?" She had to admit she was curious if it was real and if he was really crazy enough to look for it. She didn't believe in romance or magic, but not even the uptight heir could deny a good view when she saw one.
