The water felt good as it ran over her stinging paw. Chaicrisp let out a relieved sigh as it cooled off the burn from the nettle she had just tripped over. She had been lost in one of her daydreams again when it happened. Luckily, no one (Jayjack) was around to see her blunder. At least, that is what she thought...
"I'm glad to see someone other than me enjoys the water!" Rivergale called from the opposite shore, his brown tabby tail waving in a greeting. Without waiting for a reply, the tom launched himself into the river and swam strongly over to his Clanmate, paws making no sound as he paddled through the waves. Coming up on her side, Rivergale drew his lean, brown and white tabby body out of the river as silent as an otter, the smile still on his maw.

Chaicrisp’s ears pricked up and she was jolted from her daydream at the sound of someone’s voice. She gave a smile and felt the heat of embarrassment of being caught rise to her cheeks as her eyes met Rivergale’s. Holding up her paws sheepishly, she shrugged. “I accidentally tripped over some nettle.”
"Well that's no good," the brown and white tom said, lips dipping into a frown. Water dripping from Rivergales fur, leaving dark drops on the stones underpaw. His eyes flickered with concern as he sniffed the she-cats paw. "Have you found any dock for it yet?"

"Oh I guess I should have looked for that first." Chaicrisp responded sheepishly, feeling the burn of embarrassment on her ears. "Uh... What does dock look like again...ahaha...?"
"Big green leave, shiny on one side," Rivergale explained, already casting his blue-grey gaze around the river bank. Spotting a clump of the herb, he bounded over to it and plucked off a couple of leaves, carrying them back over to the she-cat. "You just gotta rub your paw on them hard enough to get some of the juices out," he explained. Feeling sheepish, he gave a small chuckle and said, "I have a bad habit of getting my paws stung by something or another pretty often, I've had to learn what this looks like."

She gave him a quizzical look before turning her attention to the leaves. Oh yeah, they did look familiar! She began to rub them between her paws. “Like this?” Right as she asked, she felt the leaves crack and let out a sigh of relief. The juice from the leaves started to cool the burning sensation on her paws as she began spreading them across the cuts. “I’m so glad you were here to help! Who knows how long I would have been stuck here… Thank you.” She purred, feeling the embarrassment from before warming her cheeks. “So you’re as clumsy as I am?”
"I'm not the best when it comes to climbing and getting in and out of those trees, I tend to fall out a lot and get splinters in my paws. Or chased by bees," he chuckled with a small shrug. "So I've had to learn a few things to keep from coming back to camp limping."

Chaicrisp couldn't help but laugh. "I-I'm sorry. Just the thought of you getting chased by bees seems funny to me." Her mood was starting to lift finally and she could feel the embarrassment melting away. "Sometimes I wish I was born a bird, but I think I would be a very poor one. If I can't even walk across the ground without tripping, flying is a frightening thought."
"Bee's are terrifying," the brown and white tom said with a serious frown, only to have amusement glimmer in his river green eyes. "Birds are also very delicate, you would probably fly into a tree and hurt yourself or something." The teasing tone in his voice was light, his tail waving happily behind him. Rivergale looked the she-cat over, giving a small sniff. "How's it feeling?" he asked, tipping his head slightly.

Chaicrisp let out a small laugh. "You're probably right. I can't be more clumsy than my sister, Pumpkinspice." She glanced away, feeling the familiar twinge of worry for her pregnant and absent-minded sibling. Rivergale's question took her away from her thoughts, though, and she looked down at her foot. "You know, I almost forgot it was hurt!"
Giving her a quick wink, Rivergale chuckled and said, "Well know you know what to do for a sting." His river-colored eyes glowed, the new deputy beaming that he could help someone within his Clan this easily.
