Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Blueveil always liked the waterfall. Most cats around back then probably had more negative associations with this place, but she didn't think much about when this cavern had been a camp. At least, she tried not to, ignoring the illusion of the lingering scent of wolf clinging to the stone underpaw. It was only her imagination. She had found the remnants of her old nest some time ago, and she had since bolstered it into a proper nest again. This was where she retreated to when her frustrations with herself rose too high. Something which was all too common.
For now she lay near the mouth of the cave, hidden by the stream of water as her eyes remained locked on the rush of droplets only a few tail-lengths from where she lay. Her thick pelt felt heavy with the damp mist kicked up by the waterfall, though her fur was too thick for any chill to truly reach her. Maybe she would've preferred if she could feel it, though. Head resting on crossed forepaws, she let out a low sigh, ears flat against her head. She lost track so easily on what drove her to this place. Probably yet another clumsy or failed catch like always, or maybe she said something dumb to a Clanmate this time. Regardless, the anger from whatever set her off had long since faded away. For now she just wanted to be alone.
That was what she told herself, squashing down her urge to find someone to talk to. She didn't really need to bother anyone else, right? She tried to drown out her own thoughts, focusing on the roar of water and flash of the half-set moon through the waterfall. Thinking of nothing was preferable to what her mind might continue to bring up.
She took one long, quiet second to breath in the air, so steeped with moisture from the waterfall nearby that it seemed as she could just as easily choose to drink her air than to inhale it.
Diamondcascade enjoyed the waterfall too, although it was likely her reasons diverged quite a bit from Blueveil's in nature. The scenery here had no effect on her, no greater meaning to her that tied her to the lonely setting than the lonliness of it itself. Despite having joined the clan in full recently, it had, for better or for worse, not yet vanquished her naturally rogue-ish nature, and that visceral need to be alone had her seek the places as far from the general clan populace as possible. It was then obvious why, when noticing the last lingering scent of one of her clan-mates the water hadn't yet washed away, she hesitated, and her fur prickled a bit despite herself.
She made a futile effort to peer through the mist that surrounded the area, or to catch and pinpoint where the last hints of the scent started and ended, but the elements weren't supportive in such a search. For a moment she considered turning back, avoiding the area entirely, and trying to find another secluded section of the territory to curl herself up in for a short time, but eventually, considering things more rationally, she figured doing such a thing wasn't worth all the effort that would be wasted on it.
Instead, she rather sheepily, cautiously, looked for a fairly dry yet secluded mound of rocks to place herself on to merely rest, and think. Still, a sharp pang of anxiety made her mind restless, the last thing she wanted was to end up confronting someone here, especially knowing the vague history of the area as it was.
