Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Twilightveil had sort of hoped being freed from his earthly prison would have cured the health issues he had been suffering when he was trapped. Unfortunately, they had gotten even worse. He still struggled to get even a wink of sleep and now had an added dilemma: He couldn't properly keep down food.
Laying in front of the gray and white tom was a freshly killed mouse. His mouth watered at the thought of devouring it in a few bites as he had done back when he was an apprentice, but he knew what was really going to happen... but, damn it, he was hungry! Steeling himself, he bit down in the fleshiest, most tasty part of the prey, throughly chewed, swallowed, and then sighed. Already his stomach was upset with him.
Getting to his paws, he picked up the remains of the mouse and put it back in the fresh-kill pile. It was poor manners but better than wasting it...
Losteden eyed the pathetic excuse for a freshkill pile. It was what the Mundane and Downworlders had managed to scrape together. She was just about to approach it when the tom cut in front of her and laid a half eaten piece back on the pile. Her nose wrinkled with disgust. "Didn't your mother ever teach you manners." She muttered under her breath.
"I thought I was hungry, but it turns out I have an upset stomach. I thought it was better to return it to the pile than to waste it," Twilightveil replied evenly, not even a little on edge after being called out by Losteden. He was mainly just annoyed. Would there even be a MoonClan cat who would just leave him alone for like five minutes?
"Err no thanks." The flame colored she-cat responded. She gave the mouse a cautious sniff to see if it was diseased. It didn't smell sour or completely off, but she didn't trust it. Instead she decided on a skinny shrew on the opposite side of the pile.
"I would ask if you had thought about getting that checked out, but we currently don't have a Warlock or Fledging."
"I doubt they could help me anyway," Twilightveil replied, stepping away from the fresh-kill pile for good but not leaving the scene just yet. There were very few cats in MoonClan who would talk to him on somewhat friendly terms, not to say that he wanted to be friends with Losteden, but at the very least he would help him pass the time, "I'm certain this is a side effect of my element. I just have to find a way to turn it off again."
"Oh your element?" Losteden looked at the tom rather confused with the unfamiliar term. "Where you able to turn off this umm element before?" She cautiously asking hoping her question wasn't offending the tom.
"Yes, at least I think so. Before I was trapped I was a normal cat," Twilightveil replied evenly, he didn't seem at all bothered by Losteden's questioning, "I'm grateful that it kept me alive for so long, but it seems all good things come with a price. I just hope I don't have to pay it forever. I miss enjoying my meals and taking naps."
"You mean you beat the impossible?? You cheated death?" The ginger she-cat struggling to wrap her head around the idea of what Twilightveil was telling her. "Have you consulted the ancestors ?" She cautiously asked.
"Lots of cats cheat death. Most leaders get nine lives, after all," He replied with an even tone although he came across as chill, "But yeah, sure, I talked to some ancestors when I was trapped. They didn't really answer that often, but I knew they were there. They didn't have much to say, though... Turns out elements are as much a mystery to them as they are us."
