Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Diamonddust had reluctantly agreed to take a break from the nursery, leaving her only son, Firekit, in the temporary care of his father, Wickedshriek. It made the new mother very nervous especially since she only barely knew the father of her child. Still, since Firekit was old enough to walk and talk now, if something terrible happened at least it should be pretty obvious and at that point all Wickedshriek had to do was take him to the...
... wait ...
... there was no MoonClan healer!?
"Nope, I'm going back right now," She decided, turning around and promptly slamming her head against another cat (you) she hadn't realized had been following behind her.
Ravenstar had been mumbling something to himself too. He didn't really care that the didn't have a healer at this point. Someone would need to just know everything already because there was no one left to pass on that knowledge, so he didn't have a particular rush to figure it out. Besides, he knew the basics, at least he thought he knew them. The Maine coon let out a passive growl upon colliding with the she-cat. "Watch where you're going, you have two eyes for a reason!"
"Ravenstar?!" Ugh, this guy. Diamonddust pulled away and bowed her head to him because he figured that's what he'd have wanted her to do. When she lifted her head back up it turned out she had hit her nose against the Consul just right that it caused it to split and start bleeding everywhere. She knew it hurt, but had no idea it was bleeding, well, for a few reasons, "I'm sorry, Consul. I did not see you. Now if you don't mine, I'll be on my way..."
He stepped into his path. "The thing is, I do mind. How the hell did you find this place? Why did you leave your place in the City?" He narrowed his eyes. "I think you might be spying for SunClan."
"Ummm... what?" Diamonddust was confused, she hadn't gone anywhere she didn't think she was supposed to go. This was a pretty standard walk. Nothing special, she thought, although she could have maybe gotten turned around, wouldn't be the first time. But the mention of the City... that caught her off guard, "I'm a Shadowhunter, Ravenstar. I just wanted to get some fresh air."
"Sure. Whatever." He rolled his eyes until he noticed the blood dripping down from her face. "Hmpf. Serves you right. Maybe you'll watch where your going if you have that nose giving you issues for a while."
Diamonddust had to resist rolling her eyes, which was a very strange urge for her given the fact that she was totally blind. Not even her son, Firekit, gave her such a headache... wait... Firekit!
"Actually, Ravenstar, I've been meaning to ask you... Has the Moon Goddess illuminated a healer yet? We desperately need one. I can't imagine what would happen if Firekit got hurt and there was no one who could help him..."
He shook his head. At least is was a worthwhile question. "No, not yet. Selene will tell us in good time." His quivering voice failed to hide the uncertainty in his voice. Selene had no spoken to him since the day he overthrew Marvelstar. It unnerved him, but she had to have a reason.
"You know, Ravenstar..." Diamonddust paused, choosing her next words very carefully. She had valid concerns but if she voiced them too bluntly she would most certainly be accused of heresy, which was the last thing at proper MoonClan cat would want, "... The Moon Goddess has been silent for quite some time. Have you considered that this may be a test? Cats in SunClan can't function without the direction of the Sun God, I mean, look what happened with Bloodystar. Perhaps the Moon Goddess is distancing herself from us so we can learn to depend on ourselves a bit more and don't become a, well, a cult."
"Well... n-absolutely! Do you think I wouldn't consider that?" He snorted and rolled his eyes. There was no way Selene would actually abandon them again... right? No, Selene entrusted him with the Clan. She knew that he could do better than his predecessor. "She is back. She is silent because she has not found the right one yet. The last time she left, we were exiled from our own territory. That won't happen again."
Diamonddust sighed. It turned out Ravenstar's skull was thicker than she thought it was. Oh well, at least she was planting seeds. Being forceful would only get her in the City of Ash again.
"If you say so, Consul. Now... unless you have anything you'd like me to do, I'd best be getting back to my son."
He slowly nodded his head. "Of course. Best give him the attention he deserves." He turned away from the she-cat, no less annoyed the she-cat's existence. Perhaps he could make her go to SunClan...
