Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Her eyes wandered across the City of Ash with something of a longing hidden beneath them. It had been a few months since Ayala arrived in MoonClan, and it had been dry to say the least. Her confinement to the city of ash made life boring and more of a chore. She certainly didn't want to die, but there was more to life than the same burned down village. She had reached a breaking point, and was willing to try to use the thing that got her stuck in here in the first place. She had fallen into a shadow and ended up next to the waterfall, so maybe if she went into one now then she could get out of here? The young she-cat took a deep breath and ran towards a burned out car's shadow, only to run headfirst into car with a bang.
Twilightveil had actually been resting inside the car. Yeah the place was burned out, but part of a cushion had survived the fire and he'd used that to make a very, very comfortable nest. He'd hoped it would help him with his insomnia - which unfortunately it did not - but hey, at least it was a nice, clean place to hang out in this otherwise ashy, decrepit camp.
Okay, back to reality. The gray-and-white tom had poked his head over the frame of the car where the door normally was and looked at Ayala quizzically, "You're not blind, are you?"
She shook head out with a long, drawn out groan as her head seemed to resonate with the metal. Each throb was worse than the last, and she swore that she was seeing double. At least someone finally came out to talk to her. "I guess I'm okay... as okay as anyone could be after running headfirst into something." She felt a little bit of blood start to dribble down her head, and she sighed. "Well maybe not... but I'll be okay, thanks."
Twilightveil had half a mind to curl back up in his comfortable ball, but it seemed his heart was just a little bit too big. He hoped down from the frame and placed himself just a tail-length or two away from the wounded she-cat.
"I won't ask how it happened," He began, his eyes anywhere but on Ayala, "But I will ask if you'll let me help you. I don't know much about how to clean out wounds or anything but I can... try."
She thought he had just decided to ignore her, and she wouldn't have blamed him. This place was quite hard on the soul, and she herself had given up on some level. Perhaps that was the drive to get them to ascend, but it was beyond brutal. It was almost cruel. She turned away, and then heard the tom's voice again. She slowly turned her head back and sat down. "That... would be nice. Thanks."
Hey hadn't really excepted her to accept his help but, hey, he should have expected the unexpected.
"Well I know we need to use cobwebs. Thankfully there's plenty of them around here," And sure as the sun rises he found some almost immediately, balling it into a a decent sized wad to present to Ayala, "Would you like me to do it, or...?"
He asked, cocking his head slightly and revealing a deep, ugly scar on his neck. It was hard to believe that any cat would have survived a wound like that one but it didn't seem to be causing him any trouble.
She just waited where she met him while he gathered the cobwebs. She did her best not to show it, but really she was terrified. It was the first time she had tried to do whatever that was that got her here, and she hurt herself. She gave a tiny nod to the tom when he offered to do it for her. "That would be great..."
Twilightveil wasn't exactly a healer, but he knew a thing or two about first aid. Mountainsound had been the one to look after him back in those dark days after his neck wound and she always made an effort to explain what she was doing as she did it.
Luckily Ayala's wound didn't seem to bad and he didn't have a lot of trouble cleaning up the blood, although he certainly didn't have enough supplies to properly fasten it over the cut.
"That should do for now," He decided finally, setting aside the bloodied cobwebs, "The next step would be to find something to prevent infection. Some kind of marigold poultice was used on my neck so... uh, we should try to find some of that."
Ayala did her best to stay still, but there was only so much she could stay still. Her little paws fidgeted as the older tom applied cobwebs to her head, until at last the bleeding seemed to slow to a stop. She slowly opened her eyes to again meet his eyes. "Well... have you seen any around here? Or somewhere else?"
"Not really. It doesn't seem that much of anything grows around this burn pile outside of weeds. We'll need to leave this camp to collect some herbs," Twilightveil said, looking around for any guards. The Ash City didn't have guards all of the time but he suspected there were frequent patrols. It was a very strange prison with the illusion of freedom when there wasn't really any at all, "Well. Let's go then."
Twilightveil wasn't afraid of a little punishment. Ravenstar seemed to prefer words over claws which suited the former SunClan Warrior just fine, seeing as he had long ago mastered the art of not giving a shoot. He padded off into the forest but paused to glance behind him to make sure Ayala was following him.
Ayala wasn't as much of a rule breaker as Twilightveil. She was still quite young and feared plenty of what ifs and whatnot... but if Twilightveil knew what he was doing, then maybe it could work? She padded slowly behind him, letting him lead the way into the night. "So... do you know where you're going? Or like... I don't know. It's been awhile since I left."
"Oh, I have no idea where I'm going. Maybe if we're lucky the Moon Goddess herself will materialize before us and show us the way," Twilightveil's tone was serious but he was actually being sarcastic, not that Ayala would be able to tell the difference. He'd never seen the Moon Goddess do anything worth while and he sort of held a grudge against her for getting him in this situation to begin with, "At any rate we shouldn't have to go very far. MoonClan territory is surprisingly lush."
She rolled her eyes. Ayala had heard Selene this and Selene that as if the deity would actually mean something in their life. She had no belief herself that the deity even existed. Her pawsteps were soft and uncertain as she walked. Her paws for the first time in moons had felt the soft resistance of grass as she stepped. "I mean... how do you know where it might be? If you haven't been out here very much."
