Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Allencatch wondered close to the apprentice's den in search of his new appointed little grasshopper. He new nothing about the young one, as he doesn't often stray farther than the warriors to casually talk to. He noted to make an effort to speak to the other apprentices more often. Scents poured from the den, all smelled fresh and of NightClan. Beetlepaw? he asked.
Beetlepaw snored having been asleep wanting to sleep for a little longer. Though Flickerpaw nudged the young black Tom as he left the apprentices den, this got Beetlepaw moving. The small Apprentice lifted his head with a snort blinking open his eyes. He blearily turned towards the den entrance and jumped when he saw Allencatch. “Oh! Allencatch! I’m sorry, I was... taking an extended rest.” He said apologetically.
The black tom bowed his head. No worries. It's taken me awhile to get your training started anyways. he stepped a little closer towards the entrance and moved his tail in a motion to follow him. I thought we would start with learning the territory of NightClan. How does that sound to you? Allencatch asked with his head titled.
Allencatch thought for a moment as he started towards the entrance of the camp. "We probably won't be able to make it through the entire territory today, but I thought we'd start with the forest?" he asked.
"Okay! I've been there before, Briarpaw decided we should go on an expedition out there and we did! It was a lot of fun!" Beetlepaw meowed. "Though a little scary, we all climbed up a tree when this mean fox came, and then mama came in and scared it off with Stonehill's help.
"That must have been very scary. That was very good thinking of you though." he said, smiling. He pawed out of the camp and stopped a few mouse-lengths from the entrance. "Isn't it beautiful?" he asked.
Beetlepaw scrambled to come out beside Allencatch looking first at his mentor before turning to look towards the forest. He'd seen it before. It wasn't bad... but it wasn't as beautiful or shiny as say the light stone back in camp or any of the other shiny objects he'd seen.
But then he turned to follow Allencatch's gaze and his eyes widened and his ears pricked forwards as he took a few paces forwards, paws sinking partially into the fresh snow on the ground. Moonlight was making the snow light up and making frost crystals gleam on the trees.
"oh wow! It didn't look anything like this when me and my siblings went out during leaffalll!" He meowed.
Allencatch laughed. "You'll appreciate it much more when you know it like the back of your paw." he padded forward as he started the pair's trek into NightClan's territory. "We said the forest first, correct?"
Soon they were deep within the silent forest. "This is where NightClan cats flourish. Deep in the forest, under the blanket of night. Most of your prey can be found here as well, however there is plently of prey all over our territory." They kept a steady pace through the area. Soon they found the river. "We can follow this to the Waterfalls. Do you know what that is?" he asked his apprentice.
"You know it like the back of your paw?" Beetlepaw asked following after Allencatch, "It's so big though!" He remarked looking around trying to take in everything as they walked. There was just so much to take in. How did Allencatch get to knowing the territory so well?
When they paused within the depths of the forest, Beetlepaw cast a look around taking it in, before hurrying to keep pace with Allencatch as they carried on. He hoped he could do well in the dark forests like his mentor was. As he'd been raised to be nocturnal the dark was not a problem. But it was the flourishing part he was worried about. When they came to the river and his mentor mentioned the waterfall he blinked. "I've heard of it, it's like a river that goes over a cliff right?"
"It'll be easier when you start to patrols. You'll learn where the territory lines are, and where the hot spots of prey are during the summer." he said with a chuckle. "But yes, very good, that is what a waterfall is. Have you ever seen one? NightClan has one on it's own territory."
They followed the river and after about half an hour they finally reached the Waterfall. The trip was filled with Allencatch rambling about how awesome NightClan was. The thundering of the cascading water soon drowned out his voice. "Not much prey is found here, however, we can fish in the water and it's just a nice place to visit."
Beetlepaw’s ears shifted back at the thundering roar of the waterfall. Then when it came into view his eyes widened. A good portion of the small pond it dumped into was frozen at the banks. He took a few steps forward and dabbed at the ice. Drawing back at the sharp cold. “It’s colder than snow! But it’s solid Water!” He cried looking to Allencatch wide eyed in awe.
The waterfall was an impressive sight, one of the biggest landmarks in NightClan.
"IT becomes solid?" Beetlepaw asked, dabbing at the ice again before drawing his paw back shivering slightly as the cold passed through him quickly. "And so cold." He mumbled.
"Sure." he said. "Let's move forward." Up the hill was forbidden territory, the rogue lands. Allencatch did not plan to go far past the border, however he did want to show his apprentice. He stopped at the top of the hill, beside the edge where the water forms the falls, waiting for his apprentice to follow.
