It seemed like a slow month; there were no trainees with the skillset to be promoted to their said districts, but Bermondsey wasn't surprised. With all the trouble that seemed to be happening, from the sudden change of all the staff, to the lack of prey in the city, there were too many things to do and too little time to get everyone to the standard that was required to be a true hunter of Primal Instinct.
But he wasn't going to delay anymore; the trainees were the new blood, the potential of the league, and their training couldn't be delayed too much. With the proxies busy with the extra patrols, the warden had decided to step up instead.
"Today, we welcome a new trainee to the ranks, Arwen-kun," he announced, standing in front of the group of young cats, his green eyes scoring the group, as if trying to pick apart everyone and sear them into his memory, "but we haven't had any tests to prove whether any of you have what it takes to be hunters...so today we'll be running the first of our many trials. If you think you're ready to learn what it takes to be a true member of the league, step up. Internal affairs to my right, External affairs to my left."
He glanced at the group.
"We'll be doing a practice run today," he smirked, looking around, "you will choose your own leaders within your respective groups, and you will each be given a bundle of cloth. Your job is to protect it from the other group while stealing the other's flag. The group that can return two of the flags will be looked upon favourably, but I'll be watching and seeing who participates and who stands out. Who knows, perhaps if any of you show potential, something good will happen. Positions are always open to those who deserve it."
He grinned. "Let the games begin." (It's a game of capture the flag for the trainees. To be promoted, you just need 5 replies to any of the training events! Also, if your cat replies five times, they have a chance to grab the flag or prevent it fro getting taken! Just message me and I'll let you know how to proceed! Let's have fun with this!)
No one really know how old Jinx-kun was. He seemed to be an adult but his paws were almost comically large compared to his body, indicating that the tom still had some growing to do. That fact combined with only just recently joining the League was enough to cement his status as a Trainee although this had been the only training session he had ever attended... and that's only because all attempts to slink away had been intervened.
"Hey you. The one with the stupid look on their face. You'll be the External Affairs leader," Jinx-kun said suddenly. He would not allow his group to waste any time squabbling over who got to lead so he'd picked a random cat to support, "Now tell me what to do so we can just get this over with."

That's right, it's Alula-nova -kun now and excitement beamed off her; she flickered her big eyes to her brother for a silent wish of good luck, it was a shame they had different interests and wouldn't get to train or hang out on patrols- but it was equally interesting to be covering so much between the two she could already hear them gossiping the way their parents do. She took her pawsteps to right confirming her selection.
So they were choosing their own leaders then? She couldn't wipe the smirk off her face as she kept her head down and glanced among the other apprentices- she would be one of the youngest and smallest compared to them but just as vivaciously eager to play the game and take her chance to use her size and agility to slip by the other team and snatch the cloth ball the moment they started. Would it be boring?Sure. Did they say it wasn't against the rules? Nope. Now just to hope her brother didn't have the same idea or for any of the opponents to notice her too quick and catch on. (lol promise she won't speedrun, she just wants to)
i am leaving soon, hit me up anytime on discord <3

This was Arwen-kun's first training session and she had not really known what to expect. She was many times smaller than the older trainee but boy was he annoying. "If you're going to be so bossy why don't you just do it yourself? Or do you not have what it takes?" She quibbled. The remark had not even been directed at her, but he seemed all too eager. Arwen-kun may be the youngest trainee but she had already been taking care of herself for some time now. Granted, she had six older brothers watching her back in the city streets, but if anything that made her braver and bolder.
Thorne-kun hung around the edges of the External Affairs group, resisting the urge to roll his eyes at Jinx-kun's choice. His actions didn't surprise Thorne, though he might vainly wish the tom had shown a bit more sense. Just as he wished that Arwen-kun didn't argue with him. Sensing the argument that was about to take place, he decided to take things into his own paws. The black-and-white tom snatched the cloth in his jaws and backed away to find a place to hide it.
