Cadet Seaside Eerie sat down in the tunnel debating on what she could do. She actually had gotten her duties done that she had been told to do but now wanted to do something fun. The dark grey tabby she-cat padded along by herself amber eyes flashing as she looked around. Well what could be done down here in these tunnels? Not much, she thought to herself. How boring.
"You look bored," Cadet Sunshine had just returned from hunting. One of the perks of being a pirate was that he didn't always have to be in big groups and it was a little easier to be out and about on his own. Meanwhile, his sister looked absolutely unenchanted with the world and he could easily emphasize with that. "What are you in the mood for? A run, a bite to eat?" He suggested. There were worse ways to kill time for sure.

"Anything really...I was half tempted to mess with Havilah but cadet Topaz already beat me to it. I will do anything you suggest Sunshine. You got anything in mind at all? We could go for a run. Or eat something...anything is better than doing this." Seaside gestured at the nothingness in front of her. Well at least her brother was free and around which was nice. Although she liked to bother and spite others she wouldn't do that to her brother. Especially not Sunshine who was always patient and kind to her. Although she didn't admit it out loud she did look up to him, even saw him as a good brother.

He tried to hold both a laugh but was unsuccessful. Fun and games. He needed to do that more often. "We could go for a run, I'll bet you feel cramped being in the tunnels right now." While the tunnels were their home he really did like making his way out on the surface and spreading his legs a bit. Their time up there was limited but was easier for him to come by.
Cadet Sunshine new he needed to work more and work harder but the motivation for him just wasn't there. He liked to live a little more on the leisurely side than what was expected of him but tried not to let others, like Seaside, see that side of him.

"Good, I am totally down for that. Last one out is a rotten mouse!" Cadet Seaside attempts to run ahead and seemed to actually be doing pretty well with the head start but unfortunately for her the she cat takes a trip over her paws landing face first into the dirt. Welp now wasn't that dandy...good going Seaside, she thought to herself. She shook her head and noticed she was unharmed but noticed that Cadet Sunshine now had the chance to catch up and possibly by pass her.
The black tom was not the most athletic one in the litter - but he did do a lot of running. Sunshine did not falter for a second when his sister tripped and instead took the opportunity to pass her, only glancing over his shoulder for a second to double check she was okay. She looked fine, just a little bewildered, so the cadet turned his attention back around and laughed as ran "Woo-hoo! You better hurry up or you're the rotten mouse!" He called to her. That should motivate her to catch up with him!

Seaside jumped to her paws trying desperately to catch up. She was using everything she had in her to catch up but was no use as the tom ahead of her took win. Still Seaside kept up her pace until she reached Cadet Sunshine panting slightly but gave a good small smile. "You did a good job. It's hard to say if I would have won or not if I hadn't tripped, but you won that fair and square... plus I would have done the same thing you did. Keep it up and you could one day beat me without me tripping." The she cat gave a good laugh but lightly shouldered him in affection. Seaside wasn't typically the affectionate type but from time to time she could show it.
Sunshine let out a purr of laughter and swatted playfully at her ear, "I'm not going to lie I would have lost if you hadn't fell! Maybe luck is on my side today." But he wasn't going to start counting his chickens, either. Right now the tom was relaxed and playful, but usually he was quiet, awkward, and unsure of himself if he isn't daydreaming.
"You look like you just rolled in a pile of mud," he couldn't help but laugh at his sister before giving her pelt a few licks to help smooth down some wild patches of fur.

"Luck was on your side for sure," she gave a small giggle before becoming slightly fussy. "Yeah yeah I got mud but I can handle it myself Sunshine." She didn't like being coddled but gave a small smile to show that she did at least appreciate the intention. After giving a small shake and licking herself she turned to her brother. "What do you want to do now dear brother of mine?"

He rolled his eyes a bit at her stubbornness but backed off, understanding of her. She did not like to receive help from anyone but he hoped that if she ever desperately needed it she would not shut him or others who cared about her out. He would always be in her corner even though he did not say as much. "I'm starved, truthfully. Want to hunt? Who knows, maybe we'll run into something interesting on the way."

(Oh I know what they'll walk into mwahahah)
Before the she cat had a chance to even respond her stomach said it for the both of them as it started to growl suddenly. "Sure, prey sounds excellent right now and could use a bite right now apparently. Is there anything in particular you want to hunt of or does anything work? True you never know what you'll end up walking into on the way there."
He shrugged. "I pretty much eat whatever I come across. Rabbit sounds amazing right now though," He groaned at the thought, a loud growling from his stomach agreeing. He licked his chest with embarrassment. "Come on, are you good at hunting by yourself?" Most scouts were predators and learned under the predators until they decided. He was a pirate and did the majority of his hunting alone. He was not an ambush predator for sure, being better at stealth and lone hunting.

"I mean I'm good enough," there was no way she'd admit that she was a bad hunter, because she totally wasn't a bad hunter. No not at all. "Lets hunt how you'd like to. Maybe you'll show your sister your sick hunting moves." Seaside looked to Sunshine and actually became curious just how well of a hunter he was.

He wiggled an eyebrow at her, laughed, and turned to lead the way. He may be lousy at other things, but Sunshine wasn't a bad hunter. By himself. The black tom didn't know how well he would do with someone else watching. "I'm not really good at hunting with other cats." He admitted as they walked. "How do you do it?"

"Uh oh you know. Like you crouch and uh make sure your tail is straight. Don't make a noise or move too much. You also have to stalk your prey, totally got to do that. Also you move so so soooo quietly. And...yeah. Uh use claws and definitely use your teeth at some point. Just try not to be nervous or scared or anything. Totally how I do things." Yup that description should 100% work and satisfy her brother's question. Seadside the professional should be her real name.
He raised a suspicious eyebrow but didn't comment on her response. He didn't know how to pack hunt so he would take her word for it, "Huh, doesn't sound that different from hunting alone. Maybe you could teach me a thing or two!" He hated training even though learning things could be fun. Sometimes at least.

(This will 100% end well)
"I- I totally can, sure." She felt false bravado but was not going to show her hesitancy. Seaside would show her brother how it was done and be a wicked sister in the process. Show him just how cool she was....it was all going to work out in her favor she knew. Had to!
"Okay soo let's...head over in that direction. I bet we will find something and then I can show you all those cool moves I mentioned!"
He nodded, this seemed pretty legitimate. He followed her like instructed, "Alright, sister, show me some of those wicked moves," He had his doubts but teasing her would be fun too if she did not deliver. Either way it was a win win for Sunshine.

She looked around not honestly sure what to look for but then saw movement ahead of them. It was small but obvious from here she had come across a shrew that had yes to notice the pair. "Psst hey, look there. It's our lucky day....I can show you what I have been talking about." Keeping her cool Seaside hunkered down low as to keep her foot steps light and silent. She made her way ever so slowly to it...so far so good. She was soon within striking distance and decided to balance herself out. As she wiggled her haunches left to right an unfortunate sound of a rock thumped to the ground next to her causing the prey to be on high alert. Sensing the cat about to pounce it started to make it attempt to dash away into a near by crevice. Trying to compensate speed and balance the she cat went after the shrew with a giant leap. To be fair the move did look quit excellent and in any other situation totally doable for success...in this scenario though she thumped face first into the wall of dirt as the shrew made its escape through the crack next to Seaside.
He couldn't help but let out a burst of laughter and she bulldozed face first into the rock and the shrew scrambled to safety. "Are you okay? I though you guys hunted like foxes and bears and stuff," her attempt was pretty hilarious and fun to watch. Maybe he would learn a thing or two from Seaside Eerie that day. Like how to not run into a wall.
