Sandystorm lifted a paw as she sat near a tree in the clan's territory. She licked it and ran it over her face, cleaning her face, before she rose to her paws and looked around quietly. Hearing some voices near by she angled her ears to hear who it was. She crept under a bush and peered out of the branches. Her lion-like head was the only thing visible. -

"I'm gonna get you, squirrel!" an orange tabby tom was saying as he climbed higher up a tree. The squirrel was dodging and chattering as it climbed up into the topmost branches of the tree. They were thinner up there and even bent under the weight of the lighter squirrel. The branches couldn't possibly support the weight of a full grown warrior. Sunflare waved his tail irritably. "Come on down and save me trouble of going up there after you!" He was unaware he himself was being watched.

Slightly startled, Sunflare looked abruptly down at Sandystorm. "Oh ... um ... yeah," he meowed. Just then the elusive squirrel made a flying leap into another tree and kept on running. With a sigh, the orange warrior backed down the tree and landed next to his clanmate. "Oh, well. I can catch him another day. What brings you out here? Are you hunting too?"

"That was a good catch," he teased back. "Wait until you hear me talking to fish!" He laughed a bit then continued, "But you'll have to stick you head underwater to hear the conversation."

Sunflare laughed. "Actually that's something I really don't want to try, especially during Leafbare." He didn't mind going into the water too much but not at all in the cold weather.

"I hear you," Sunflare agreed. "No cat other than those water-lovers would willingly go into water in this kind of weather." He stretched his legs out behind him one at a time. "So would you like to continue your hunt with me?"
