Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Although Antediluvian preferred things planned before they happen, he shrugged. "Sure. I don't mind at all." he started to pad towards the exit, but he stopped in his tracks. "Wait a second, I just realized something." he said with a chuckle. "You're Commander Mars' daughter."
Jasmine paused at his next sentence. Had he not realized who she was and would that change is perception of her? After a moment she nodded. "Yes I am. Although, he wasn't the commander when I was born. My father became Mercenary Superior shortly after he brought us to the Regime." She could still remember the days her father had spent coming to visit them right after he had finished his duties. They would be in a nest with their aunt Venus. "He is such a kind father you know. He would always come to visit me, Basil, and Coriander when we were tykes." She started forward again. "Family has always been important to me honestly." Just the other day her friends had been teasing her about how she was probably going to be the next of them to have tykes. Then again she didn't really have anyone that she would say she was that close to. Just as this thought crossed her mind, her gaze rested on her friend once more. What if...She shook her head. That was silly. She barely knew him after all. Such thoughts had to be the product of an over active imagination.
Upon emerging from the tunnels, sunlight hit her fur followed by a nice breeze. It wasn't exactly warm, but it wasn't as cold as it had been either. Perhaps Newleaf was on the way? She stepped away from the tunnel entrance to allow Antediluvian to come out as well. "Come on. I'll show you one of my favorite places to come when I come out here."
"I just had realized it, after you stating Basil was your brother and everything. I hope that I am not taking any time away from your family." Antediluvian did not mind her kinship, however he was afraid of the future. He had grown a sort of.. crush on Jasmine he realized. He enjoyed her company and when she spoke to him, the feeling of warmth overtook his body; just as it had when they shared their first meal together. Would it cause problems with the Commander? Or, what about her brothers? He knew family could sometimes get in the way of a relationship.. What am I thinking? I don't even know if she has a mate already, or is even interested in me!
He followed Jasmine out of the tunnels and felt the sun on his grey fur. He nodded at her statement. Perhaps there was something inside of her for him.. Antediluvian only hoped.
"No of course not. My father and my brothers have their own duties as do my aunts and my uncle. We do visit each other from time to time, but duties usually keep us busy." Her pace was slow, but she was not in a hurry. Today was a day to enjoy herself after all. Here a while back she had found a flower field just outside of the territory. It was unclaimed by any other clan or group and it was just on the other side of the border. While she knew that her father did not approve of them going outside of the territory, it really wasn't far enough to worry about.
"Of course," he murmured. He hoped he didn't upset her. "So what is this favorite place of yours? Or would you rather keep it a surprise?" he said with a chuckle.
"It's a flower field just on the other side of the border. It's a border we don't share with the clans so it's alright to go there every once in a while." She knew that many would frown upon leaving the safety of the Regime's territory, but it wasn't that far so she had never worried that much about it honestly.
Jasmine pressed forward, happy that he had not scolded her for going outside of the Regime's borders like most of the other soldiers would. "It's not far now." She hurried forward and sure enough, there was a field of wildflowers just outside of the border. Jasmine smiled and looked back at Antediluvian. "See?" She crossed the border to enter the field of flowers. "The last time I came here, Basil practically drug me back over the border and scolded me for going this far." She shook her head. "I know he means well, but I don't think we're in any danger here." Of course she knew that there was a chance that they might run into a rogue outside of Regime territory and there wasn't much they would be able to do, but even then she had Antediluvian with her and she was sure if it came down to it, he could protect her.
Although he shared her thoughts of worry for cats outside of the Clan, he let his guard down. He didn't feel like he needed to work so hard around Jasmine. Anyone else though, he felt like he wasn't good enough; the reason why he trained so hard. It was nice to feel his shoulders relax as he laid down into the flowers. A long sigh escaped his jaws and a yawn followed. "It's feels good to be out here," he said, as he stretched his front paws forward. "With you, of course." he added.
She smiled. His words made her happy. She enjoyed spending time with him honestly. He didn't scold her for her curiosity like others did and she knew she could be herself even if that meant spending time in a flower field beyond their border. She turned and took the few steps back that took her to his side and then looked out at the field. "You know what? This can be our spot. Whenever you just want to relax or if we need to talk, we cam come here. No one would think to look for us here after all." It was a bit embarrassing really. She hadn't realized until afterwards that she had simply assumed that he would want to continue to spend time with her. Her gaze traveled to the floor for a moment and then her expression brightened. "Look! This flower is so pretty!" She was looking down at a flower with long thin purple petals now. "I've never seen one like this here before!"
Antediluvian felt warmth spread to his heart. He's never had a feeling like this before. "T-that sounds really good to me." he said nervously. Glad to change the subject, he moved closer to her and the flower she was looking at. "It is very beautiful." The flower seemed to familiar to him. In the back of his mind, he saw the petals fall to the ground, and new, larger flower of the same stunning colors bloomed in the same spot. He chuckled. "I feel like this place is special."
"This place is special. This is the only place I've ever seen where this many flowers bloom at once." She would have said more, but a new voice distracted her. "Jasmine? What are you doing out here?" Basil had come back out upon realizing that she was not in the tunnels. She just smiled and looked over at Antediluvian. "We were taking a walk and I decided to show him the flower field." She could tell her brother was a bit irritated, but he had always been a bit short tempered even if he meant well.
Antediluvian directed his silver gaze at Basil. "Apologies. I wouldn't have let anything happen to her of course." he said, quick to defend himself and Jasmine.
"Even so, letting a Raiser come out this far isn't a good idea. There is a badger in the area. Cadet Phobia was attacked by it the other day." Jasmine sighed quietly. "But I was led to believe the badger set is further into the territory. We should be fine as long as we don't stray too far from the border. She glanced over at Antediluvian. "I suppose we should head back." She sounded slightly disappointed, but she really didn't want to argue with her brother.
"I can guarantee you I wouldn't have let us stray that far." the grey tom commented. He nodded at Jasmine and followed Basil. He felt like a kit being reprimanded for leaving camp. "I think we'll stay out a bit longer, Mercenary Basil. Raiser Jasmine had said something earlier about needing to change the moss in some of the beds in her post. I'll have her back before dark."
Basil's eyes narrowed, but he really didn't have a reason to tell them they couldn't go, especially when he had no real authority over them. He didn't like toms hanging around his little sister though. He would prefer if he was the one to escort her. Well, he supposed it would be fine if Coriander accompanyed her, but that was it. All he did was give a curt nod however. "Just be careful and avoid the BrookClan border. The badger's den is close to the border." Meanwhile Jasmine was shooting Antediluvian a grateful look, glad that they had avoided being drug back to the tunnels by her brother.
The grey tom nodded and turned towards the other way. "Sorry, I just can't go back to tunnels right now. I'll just feel exhausted again." he said to Jasmine as Basil walked away. "I train a lot, so usually I associate our camp with exhaustion."
Jasmine gave him a sympathetic look. "Perhaps you shouldn't train as much? It would give you time to do other things and while things are a bit tense right now, we aren't in open conflict with any of the clans." She did worry about him. Honestly, she would prefer that he rest a bit more, but at the same time, his hard working personality was one of the things she admired about him so she'd never really pushed him all that hard to give up his training.
"You're right." he said with a huff. What would he do if he wasn't working? Perhaps Jasmine could help him with that. He smiled he looked over at her, admiring her green eyes and beautiful ebony fur.
