Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Wolftundra was out on assignment given by Wintrystar herself. He was to gather information on DayClan, as much as he could and return back to camp. Their gathering hadn’t gone as planned, someone had betrayed them, and she wanted to know who. The belief was that DayClan may have some answers, and if not, they’d at least have some information. The tom had brought along his pet, Rodent, to assist in gathering the information. For two days they’d traveled, making sure to cover their scent and double back, lower their chances of being caught. Or at least that was the plan.
Rodent trotted beside Wolftundra, it had been years since he could feel grass without frost beneath his paws. In fact he hadn't been in DayClan for years, he had basically gotten his warrior name before getting caught and given a new name, Rodent. But now he was back in his home clan, where his family was. "Hey Wolftundra, do you think we could maybe visit my brother Moltenmidnight?" He asked, smiling up at the WinterClan warrior with hope glittering in his eyes.
On cue, Moltenmidnight appeared. He had a complex expression on his face, clearly he was deep in thought and did not expect to run into any cats on this path, much less a couple of would-be WinterClan invaders. His first reaction was a low growl - not because outsiders weren't welcome, but because DayCaln and WinterClan literally just had a war - that faded just as quickly as he had appeared with a flash of recognition.
"Wishbone, is that you?" He'd run into a couple of his siblings in NightClan and DayClan, but after so much time had passed he assumed Wishbone was more than likely deceased. Seeing his brother alive and kicking brought a smile to his face and cleared away whatever was bothering him earlier, if only for the minute, "How are you doing, man!? I thought you were dead! And who's your friend?"
Rodent moved in front of Wolftundra at the other toms presence, his hackles moving up to match the felines aggression. Instead his ears moved back at the familiar sound of his name that hadn't been uttered in years, it almost didn't feel like his.
"Molten!" He purred, lifting his head up fully out of his offensive stance, "I've been taken care of, this is Wolftundra, he looks out for me better than anyone else. Wolf, this is my brother, Moltenmidnight, he's always been kind of the cooler one of the litter," He smirked, looking back at Moltenmidnight after remarking about him. At first he wanted to lead the conversation, but instead he looked up at Wolftundra to lead the conversation forward or... Possibly reject talking altogether. So in order to plead with him he leaned into Wolftundra, it was the only subtle body language he had.
"In that case... Thanks for looking after my troublesome brother, Wolftundra. You two suit each other very well," Moltenmidnight replied, clearly misjudging Wishbone's protectiveness for that of affection for his mate. He didn't hover over that sentiment very long, however, as his expression shifted a shade darker as he changed topics, "I'm sorry to say that Peachblush and Fuzzyheart are no longer here, though. In fact, of our litter, I'm actually the only one left in DayClan."
Wolftundra was not happy to have been found by a DayClan cat, but at least, it wasn't a whole patrol. At first, he'd been ready to attack, pin the cat and demand answers, but then that changed as Rodent and this cat became friendly. Brothers, they said. But he didn't care. Their cover was blown, someone knew they were there. His face was marred with a frown and eyes narrowed, his appearance as intimidating as ever, his words were nearly spitting and his claws were unsheathed and digging into the dirt. But he mellowed a moment when his companion leaned into his side, trying to see the advantage of running into Rodent's brother, for they could get information still yet and probably leave with no one ever knowing they were there. They wouldn't fail their mission. Wolftundra would kill this cat if he had to ensure that they completed the mission, Rodent's feelings didn't matter in that regard. He would be patient for now and allow this to happen. "Rodent, you didn't introduce your brother. or mention that you had one." His narrowed eyes slid over to Rodent, completely missing the hint that Moltenmidnight was giving that he believed them to be lovers.
"Rodent...? That's a strange pet name..." Moltenmidnight murmured, although he didn't hang on to the resentment for very long. Strange names in DayClan were normal, after all, "Anyway, yes, Wishbone has many siblings. Our litter alone were twelve kittens and our biological mother, Poppymask, has had two more litters over in SummerClan. Not sure if I should count them, though, it's not like we were raised by her or that I've even met them."
