Aspenstar shifted her weight slightly. It was odd, this was the first time that she had been able to take the eyepatch off in nearly two weeks. It had been about three days since she had actually started letting Pinesimmer treat it - she still was only half convinced it was getting better and he wasn't just playing some strange game with her still. But, with the eye patch off, she was surprised at how bright the moon was. Bright? That meant.... That meant that she could see something right? Was Pinesimmer actually doing his job? Was it working? Her eyes squinted at the light. She couldn't see anything very clearly, and if she closed her working eye, the world was reduced to nothing more than obscure shapes, but... They were still shapes. She couldn't help the smile that grew on her face. She had accepted that she'd probably never see anything out of that eye again, but the fact that she could, no matter how blurry, was something so exciting to her that she had temporarily forgotten that she had instructed her niece to meet her in her den at moonhigh...
