Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Sunsetpaw was more often than not painfully oblivious to the cats who wandered up to his garden. If he was at the garden, it meant that he was working, which meant that he really didn't need to pay any attention to the others, or at least, that's what he thought. Perhaps that's why he was completely unaware of the fact that Spiderbeauty had approached. Instead, he stared intently at the spiky little plant that was just starting to bare fruit. "I'll call this one Jeffery," he murmured to himself, pride filling his eyes at the small bright red fruit. He had genuinely no idea how big it would grow, but the fact that it grew any at all was enough to make the little tom's day. See, if Z let him tend the garden all the time, he'd be a much happier cat. Instead, though, he was stuck doing stupid stuff like hunting and fighting. What a waste of time! The plants, though, the ones he coddled as much as possible, were anything but a waste ot time. They were his life's mission.

Spiderbeauty walked around looking for a new item for her own collection when she came across Sunsetpaw. Curious she walked over to see what he was doing finding that he was a garden he was tending to. How interesting, perhaps there were things she could add to her collection from around here? Although the she cat didn't typically just walk up to cats and talk to them she had a fascination with collections, not just her own. Silently she padded over, sat down and looked at the fruit growing. "What do you have there?" She asked curiously but quietly.

Sunsetpaw tilted his head as he turned in her direction, his eyes slightly suspicious. "No one has ever cared enough to ask," he meowed with an ambivalent shrug. His mentor didn't care about his particular talent, so why would anyone else? "But, if you must know, it's my newest specimen. I bred deathberries with a sweeter berry, and they're finally starting to grow." He said this in a completely neutral voice, as if it wasn't ... odd to say the least that a young apprentice was breeding some of the forest's most deadly herbs.

"So would this berry be just as deadly with a sweeter taste or do you think it's not at toxic? I'd assume it would be a danger to eat and deadlier to test it out. However...it's rather interesting you were able to do this at all. All in all for doing it by yourself with no help at all it looks good." Spiderbeauty took a moment to think before adding, "By chance on your way out here to your garden have you seen this certain kind of spider? It tends to have a deep blue color to it and loves the kind of sweet berries you mentioned. Not to eat of course but tends to attract the bugs that eat the sweet berries. It's a long shot, even rare to find, but it's not all that impossible."

"According to my tests," he glanced at the small pile of mouse corpses that were tidily stacked just outside his grasp, "the berry has a heightened poisoning effect in large doses. However, if you are careful to only use the flesh of the berry, it has a relaxant effect that I predict has some pain relieving tendencies." Sunsetpaw flicked his tail absently. Although he said it so nonchalantly, this was the product of lots of work.
The tom then tilted his head. "Actually, that sounds familiar. Follow me?"
