Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Was it fortunate that Dawnbringer didn't know what awaited him as he sat at the edge of camp, waiting for his two new apprentices to show up? Who could say for sure. He had only met them once, during ceremonies, and they hadn't seemed too bad back then. Little talkative, maybe, but everyone was where Dawnbringer was concerned. Since he didn't really talk to others, the tabby had no idea what others said about Crystalpaw and Berrypaw. His sister, Duskveil, their former mentor, hadn't mentioned anything to him either. Though, that wasn't too surprising, since they hadn't talked too much anymore since their father's death.
The familiar pain returned once his thoughts turned to Duskveil, but he did his best to shake it off. His anger still lurked beneath the surface, but these apprentices had no blame in that. With a subtle shake of his head, he turned his attention back to searching for the two.
@ian biyuu ☆彡 little late, but here's a poor training thread!
Berrypaw trotted over to him with a flick of her tail, her eyes wide at the idea of having a second mentor. Moonpaw had assured her that this made her basically unstoppable: not only had she been trained by the deputy, but now a loyal guard, too! She was going to be the most trained cat in the clan! With a wide grin, she let out a purr.
"Hiya, Dawnbringer! I'm so excited for today! You know what they say, the first day of training is always the most important, so I'm like so excited to get this going!" she babbled, clearly not in a mood where she was going to try to contain any of her boundless energies.
And so it began. Though Dawnbringer had previously thought that everyone was talkative, surely they weren't this bad? It was definitely going to turn into a test of patience, but luckily Dawnbringer had plenty of it. Hopefully he had enough to get through this, though. He glanced Berrypaw over, not quite sure what he should say. Perhaps she would talk enough for the both of them and he wouldn't have to say anything. "Yeah..." he dragged out the word, flicking his tail as he glanced around once more. "What have you and-" he paused for a fraction of a second, mind racing to dig up the name of the other apprentice, "-Duskveil been over already?" He had given up and just restructured his question.
She noticed his restructuring, but she didn't say anything about it. It wasn't important, in the grand scheme of things. Not really, at least. "Well, you see, we didn't get to do a whole lot before... well..." She looked away for a moment, not knowing quite how to approach the situation. "But Duskveil was really good at teaching us how to hunt! We learned the best poses from her, poses that helped me catch the biggest squirrel in the apprentice den the other day!" Patience was something that the tom was going to need in their time together. "I could show ya if you want?"
