Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
His eyes scanned the Institute as he approached the edged that Marvelstar would have spoken from just mere hours before. But, she had no place in MoonClan any more, and Selene made sure Ravenpaw knew that. As a Shadowhunter, it was his duty to serve her. Marvelstar failed them... and he would not do the same. With a quivering breath he looked out over the top of his perch. "Everyone, get your tails over here before we have a problem!" Perhaps it wasn't the kind of call they were accustomed to, but he had to start somehow, and he never liked the original calling. The dark Maine coon waited a moment to let the peasants gather before raising his voice again. "I know you're expecting someone different... but Marvelstar betrayed us. She is no longer our leader."
Serpenthaze was one of the first few to approach the base of the perch. The nontraditional call had pulled him away from his family. Peering up at the perch he was surprised to see the student Ravenpaw standing where Marvelstar had been several hours prior. Hearing that Marvelstar betrayed Moonclan caught the young Shadowhunter's interest. He kept his poker face mostly in check, but his large bat like ears angled forward.
Echeveriajinx approached his grandson Serpenthaze. The greying savannah taking a seat beside the young tom. He stared up at the student standing in the place of where the leaders called meeting. He found it rather strange that the student was calling a meeting and accusing their leader of betrayal. The tom knew back in his day he wouldn't dare do such a bold move. His mentor Elmwhisker would of had his tail.
"Marvelstar betrayed us?" Carvedsnow echoed, her brow furrowed in doubt. She had fought at her leader's side for moons, served with her, and she had helped save her father's life; why would the she-cat turn against them now? She exchanged a suspicious look with her father as Snowshod sat down beside her, but one stern look from the Silent Brother was enough to convince her to hold her tongue for now.
Snowshod had his own doubts, though, so he sent a private thought to his brother Southspectre: What do you think?biyuu ☆彡
"She did. She refused to cast out her son for betraying us. Nocturnepaw trained with SunClan for moons, and she let him. She let him live and train with them, the cats who forced us out of our home. " His tail lashed behind him. "She made him into a SunClan cat... and Selene spoke her truth. She demanded that Nocturnepaw be banished, and Marvelstar could not bring herself to do what had to be done." He paused. "Sed lex dura lex. She could not bring herself to follow our laws and obey Selene's will, and has been stripped of her Shadowhunter status and will be imprisoned."
Was that how it really went down? Diamonddust didn't disagree with much of what Ravenstar was saying, but her memory indicated a different reason for MoonClan to flee it's territory. She supposed it didn't matter. Things were going about as good as she could have hoped for given that she'd never liked Marvelstar from the beginning.
The previous Consul had been born and raised in SunClan as Bloodystar's sister, worshipped the Sun God as a Janus and then came to MoonClan to turn it into a cult that rivaled that of the Clan she'd left for the same reason. The fact that anyone supported her as leader was beyond Diamonddust's understanding, but the same could be said for the tyrant Bloodystar, so she supposed it had something to do with feline nature. She certainly hadn't spoken up during those dark times and she didn't dare do so now either. Inside her belly rested a kitten due to be born in a few weeks and she wouldn't risk its future for anything.
So, she simply listened, curious to hear what the speaking tom would have to say next.
