Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The time of day was night far after many warriors had been done with their duties. Whether they were hoping to find romance, flings, someone to have kits with, or are already disappointed by the turn out and want to go home the two were there and now it was time for conversations to fly. They only had 10 minutes and three partners to choose from so it’s best to ask and answer all the right questions to get to know the other.
Each speed round had a separate area for the two cats to talk. This particular speed round took place a few yards from the meeting grounds at the top of a grassy hill, but it was the starry view above them that truly stole the show. There was a meteorshower out this time of night sending flashes of silver shooting across the open night sky. Despite being out in the open the summer breeze that sailed past them felt warm and inviting.
Garsparkling rolled the name Cloudymuse over his tongue as he walked, debating it, certain he recognized it from his clan - though of course, in the end, he was thinking of another cat entirely, Cloudywinter. Still, at the moment he was confident, so without looking up at the meteors once he turned back to his companion.
"Funny seeing someone from back home here. I know, I know, I shouldn't be here with a nest of kittens back home, but Robinring and Roseshade never let me near them unless they're around, and it's just so awkward with them hovering around. It wouldn't have been like that if---" if Brindlemist never died, but he couldn't bring himself to say his mate's name, so he sniffed and went on "---anyway, the kittens aren't any fun at this age. So that's why I'm here. What brings you all the way down here? Didn't ya have an arranged mate?"
Cloudymuse was in his element. It may not be clouds that they're watching but he was down to be lazy and stare up at the sky just the same. When the other cat approached though, he became confused. The light brownish-silver tabby spared a glance at the other cat, confusion and disinterest on his face. "Sorry bud, think you got the wrong cat. No idea who you are or what you're talking about. Or anything about an arranged marriage. If I'm supposed to be married it happened without my knowledge. Still single for all I know, well, recently single but still." He didn't want to think about his tom friend, his on-again and off-again relationship with him, and how they were most recently off.
"You're Cloudymuse, aren't cha?" Garsparkling frowned. So he did have the right cat. Why was Cloudymuse pretending he was wrong? "It's fine if you don't know me, I suppose I don't know you well either. I just thought you might since, you know, I'm brother-in-law to the Witch and all that." He wondered if this guy had any claim to fame and suspected he didn't. If he was recently single, he must have broken it off with his mate after their first litter and just didn't know if he got placed into another arranged marriage.
"Well, I don't think we've been arranged together, but maybe Wintrystar heard we were both coming and wanted to see what would happen."
