Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The time of day was night far after many warriors had been done with their duties. Whether they were hoping to find romance, flings, someone to have kits with, or are already disappointed by the turn out and want to go home the two were there and now it was time for conversations to fly. They only had 10 minutes and three partners to choose from so it’s best to ask and answer all the right questions to get to know the other.
Each speed round had a separate area for the two cats to talk. This particular speed round took place at a small abandoned apple orchard. The trees were untamed, gnarled with ruby red apples that only seemed located at the very tops of the tree. The location wasn’t particularly romantic, rather haunted looking with creaking noises from the old trees and odd rustling sounds that are surely the leaves. It's a difficult place to focus on the other person.
Badgerbee was….curious about their location but also a little weary. It was an off place, nothing like anywhere he’d been before and that intrigued him. But at the same time, it felt…off, haunted maybe. His honey orbs took in the place around them, and in his survey if the area, caught sight of a buzzing bee flying past. “Hey look, a bee, bet that means there’s honey nearby. Ever had any?” His eyes turned towards the she-cat beside him, curious of the answer but also curious on how she left about this place.
"That's the conversation starter we're going with huh?" Dawninghope observed. Although her wording felt harsh her expression was neutral so it was almost startling when her lips quirked up into a startling friendly smile. Not the average kind, but a genuinely happy smile that didn't fit the sarcastic stiff tone of her voice. "Charming, let's go," Dawninghope said with a head tilt for him to lead the way, "So I gotta admit something to you, I actually went in a freaky apple orchard before and watched my brother get almost devoured in quick sand so I'm a little more jumpy about this date than usual."
Badgerbee stopped, absolutely stunned at her words. "What?!?" She seemed so casual about it too! He couldn't imagine that, sure him and Otterfish had gotten into some tight spots, but still. Just thinking of seeing his brother in a situation like that caused him to shudder. "Gees, how many creepy apple orchards are there?" Just thinking of there being another like this one was weird enough, but one possibly scarier? No way. The black and orange tom glanced around him, taking in the area and wondering how her situation could be possible. "Maybe we should avoid the quick sand, yeah?"
"Yeah," Dawninghope agreed with a leisurely smile, "So what kind of girl were you hoping to meet here? Since we only have so much time I'll just be forward. I'm just looking for a guy that's willing to pop some kits in me so I can stay a queen for life, is tolerable, and supportive of my research work towards herbs."
He flushed, unuse to such language and forwardness. He was raised by Ophelia, a proper kittypet lady, and definitely not a she-cat who'd use words like "pop some kits in me." With a shake of his head, to try and failing to dislodge those words from his head and what that brought with it, he tried for at least answering the question. "Um, well, I..I don't know. I guess I may be fit those last two though? I like to go on adventures with my ,brother Otterfish, but otherwise, I never thought of settling down like that." He definitely didn't want someone like his mom, passive and who never fights back. She'd do anything that someone told her so long as it was reasonable, and if it wasn't she'd barely make any fuss about it. "Someone passionate, maybe?" Badgerbee had never thought of it before, the kind of cat he'd like to end up with. Just trying to think of it now made his face scrunch up in thought, definitely not like mom, but maybe kind of like mom? She's nice and loving and supportive, but she also just does whatever she's told no matter who tells her to do so. Maybe I should have thought about that before coming to this thing?
"I'm a little lack luster when it comes to, clan spirit and cheer," Dawninghope said, picking up an extra octave on the clan spirit part, batting her eyes like an overly enthusiastically. "But I don't know, maybe passion will come later, I mean, I do have a passion for tom cats with a nice butt, however I have a feeling that's not the kind of thing you're thinking about when you say passion," She said, cracking a teasing smile with a shrug, "Maybe I'm just not the girl of your dreams?" She asked with a teasing, but understanding smile.
