Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
TEA CEREMONY{ noun } – an elaborate Japanese ritual of serving and drinking tea, as an expression of Zen Buddhist philosophy.
Anger, sadness, jealousy, conflict, they were all emotions he experienced. They were also emotions that he used to channel into his belief. Events in SpringClan were becoming far more tense, more tense than he would've liked them to be. Zengarden never voiced his opinion on anything unless he felt it was important – words, after all, are the greatest weapon one can yield, and can result in disastrous consequences if yielded without respect and responsibility – and kept his thoughts to himself unless he felt they were necessary to iterate to his mate, Septariadragon.
But there were times, like now, that he wished he had someone that he could vent to. To drop the calm, collected, gentle, sweet persona of Zengarden and become someone who wasn't held to such high ideals, even if they were self set.
She had far less time for things like perceptions than the tom seemed to. Frankly, Dancingdragon couldn't give a rat's hide about what her clanmates thought of her for vocalizing her furious opinions; not when she knew she had SpringClan's best interest in mind in the end. The recent events... She wasn't pleased, and she was just exiting Jetstar's den after giving her an earful about why having SunClan cats in SpringClan's camp indefinitely was a terribly stupid idea, imperial gaze still fixated into a glare that raked over Zengarden, who seemed to be grappling with his own internal war, and decided having a chat would be better than chewing Goldengriffon's out for not agreeing with her. So she sauntered over to him. "Looks like we're stuck with the sun-lovers after all," she grumbled. "I told everyone that Jetstar was a bad choice for leader, but no one ever listens until it's too late."
Zengarden glanced over at the trusted with a quirk of his brow. Why she had approached him before anyone else was a mystery to him. Perhaps he was the closest in range and she figured 'why not?'. He hadn't had that kind of carelessness in a long time. "Jetstar's a great leader, but I fear SunClan staying here will give them... ideas." He murmured with a frown.
"Jetstar is an idiot leader," she persisted. The pair never saw eye-to-eye on most things, especially things that concerned SpringClan, and often bickered like an old married couple, but at the end of the day, Dancingdragon still valued Jetstar somewhere deep, deep, deep, deep, deep down inside. "Apparently Mr. Wife Beater isn't leader there anymore, but they haven't had a fantastic track record with decent leaders lately in general. I don't trust them."
Zengarden hummed. "Jetstar hasn't led us astray in the past. I've heard Littlestar is a great leader, though I do have a concern given the fact that she was able to be overthrown so easily and replaced by such a brute." He looked around them at the felines that were still doing their duties with ease, if giving them odd looks from time to time. "We don't have much reason to trust SunClan for one reason or another, but I doubt Jetstar would let them in if she knew that they were up to no good. All we can do is give the benefit of the doubt and hope it doesn't blow up in our faces." He sighed, the expression on his face and his tone giving away that he wasn't entirely sure he believed his own words.
Dancingdragon snorted, not buying that. "So if, say, you left SpringClan one day and became leader of another clan, you wouldn't be torn between which clan has more of your loyalty?" It wasn't something she could imagine; born and raised in SpringClan, with a plenty long enough legacy, the idea of being separated from her home was unfathomable enough. To have to turn her former clanmates away would be unthinkable. It was what made her leery of accepting an outsider as leader in the first place.
"You have to admit, if not to me at least yourself, that if you were to leave SpringClan and become leader of another clan, your loyalty would be to the clan you chose to make your home, not the one you were born into. You obviously left for a reason; obviously that reason was strong enough to cut off ties with those that you'd spent your entire life with so far. Would there even be a shred of a chance of giving your birth clan the light of day, when your responsibility is to the clan you pledged your life, loyalty, and protection to?" Zengarden hummed. "If it were me, I would remain in the clan I chose because it was my choice. If I felt inclined to sway another way, I wouldn't be leader in the first place." He glanced at her. "Is that what you believe then? That Jetstar sways toward SunClan than her own clan?"
"Well what if it wasn't your choice? We all have our own reasons for seeking power: The accomplishment itself, vengeance, purpose. If I had chosen to leave of my own accord, then yes, I guess I would be electing to put my new clan first. If it weren't my choice?" She paused to consider the possibility and what it would entail for her. Would she go elsewhere? Or would she stay close to SpringClan, protect her home from the outside and wait for her opportunity to return? "If I was forced out of SpringClan and became leader, of course I would stand by my oath. I was raised to be a warrior, so whether I'm a warrior of SpringClan or a leader of another, I serve the warrior code of the clan I live in."
She glanced sidelong at him, considering the question. "I don't know what Jetstar sways towards. I don't believe she would have chosen to leave SunClan of her own accord, but I also can't say if her taking over the leadership was beneficial to us or to her." It'd been several moons now that they served under Jetstar; things had mostly been calm, undisturbed, but stronger currents ran under still waters. She couldn't convince herself that their leader's intentions were purely genuine.
"I would never be in the position to be ousted from my clan for something I've done, unless it was in defense of my family. But if I were to be banished from my clan, with or without the possibility of return, I would of course pledge my loyalty to my new clan, especially if I became leader of it. However... I suppose, I could understand there possibly being a glimmer of issue. Though, I admit, it wouldn't be an issue of my faith to the clan I've made my new home, but rather whether or not I wouldn't send myself and my warriors into battle head first with SpringClan if I were ousted for something I didn't do. Of course," he grinned, "that is in a world where there wouldn't be a blink of an eye at my behaving in such a way."
He hummed. "We will see in the coming dawn, then, won't we?" He murmured.
