Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"So, you seemed quite cross with my decision to let Lastingpaw in." Jetstar meowed frowning at Dancingdragon. She flicked her tail. "Since you held it in for just long enough, let's have at it." She said, the den had been cleared of the kits to allow Dancingdragon to let loose.
The whole way back, the ivory lioness had seethed, tailing at the very end of the patrol to keep an eye on their 'guest.' Even once they returned to camp, she shooed her kittens away to go bother Goldengriffon and eyed the tom as Jetstar gave him a rundown of the camp, then left him to his own devices to corrupt their young and surely set a fire somewhere. She barely managed to reserve her wrath long enough to avoid turning it into a public spectacle.
But the second they entered Jetstar's den... "Have you always been this stupid or is it genetic?" She snarled. "When you came to lead SpringClan, several of us voiced our concerns about your ties to SunClan and here you are confirming them! Tell me, how does this SunClan cat staying in SunClan benefit us in the slightest? He gets to live here, eat our prey, take up valuable den space, and taint our beliefs with those of SunClan---while doing what for us, exactly? I fail to imagine you striking up this kind of arrangement if it were with any other clan! This just reeks of bias. Exactly what I was afraid of."
Jetstar turned to her and looked at Dancingdragon calmly.
"SpringClan is a clan of second chances." Jetstar meowed. "And with Bloodycrow gone from their ranks, and the reign of Foxstar long in the past, SunClan is a useful ally."
"Better yet their leader knows one of our enemies that we've been debating what to do about." Jetstar said flicking her tail. "WinterClan is a looming threat and despite our best efforts we still aren't ready to take them on."
"I'm not a fool Dancingdragon," Jetstar said simply. "But just like I allowed Celestialroar to return without pressing her for questions as she was a friend of yours, I am giving Lastingpaw, my grand nephew, a chance to learn about SpringClan. SpringClan made me into the leader I am now, and I will not squander my connection to SunClan when it could give us an alliance that could make sure we don't need to fear WinterClan."
"But at the end of the day it's an alliance," Jetstar said calmly. "I will always love my family but if Lastingpaw doesn't respect the boundaries we lay down which will involve keeping clan secrets hidden, like what we discuss during trusted council meetings. He's out. No questions asked."
"If Ratstar proposed this exchange I'd do it in a heartbeat." Jetstar said calmly. "Because I know SpringClan has a good relationship with SummerClan. I don't know if it was always that way." Jetstar admitted. "But SpringClan is not the same clan that was taken down by NightClan and held with DayClan in SunClan all those years ago."
"And that's what it is Dancingdragon, years. I'm not the same leader Peachstar was, or any of them." Jetstar insisted. "We're not giving into SunClan. We're opening the door for an alliance, nothing more."
