Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
(Bluejay and Snakefang from WinterClan are visiting Renegade Regime to meet with her dad. If anyone wants to intervene you can!) pLutoHoneystorm
Bluejay looked around warily before turning to look back the way they had come. This was definitely the right direction, she just didn't expect the Regime to look so much like... Home. Like it was literally home, it was in DayClan where she was born in. "They have to be living underneath DayClan I suppose," Bluejay ventured leaning up against Snakefang for support.
Even among WinterClan she held her head high, she wasn't afraid to look anyone in the eye despite what they had done to her. But here, among the clan that had gone out of their way to help their family she resembled prey with wide eyes and the way she shrunk back into Snakefang. "I just- I don't know if they'll like me because I was y'know, kind of a rotten kid with corrupting people and encouraging my sister to set fires thing. I mean my dad is so nice, but I'm just worried about running into other people, do you think we'll be alright?" Bluejay asked looking to Snakefang.
Luckily for Bluejay, she didn't have to worry too much about running into other cats. At least, not without another support by her side, as Lex stepped around a curve in the tunnel, only to come face to face with his daughter, a look of surprise on his features, that morphed quickly into a wide and ecstatic smile. "Blue? What are you doing here?" He would never be upset by her presence, of course, but he hadn't actually expected her to come by... given the clan she lived in.
Snakefang nodded. "Yeah, I think they may be underneath DayClan," he confirmed as he looked at his surroundings. At least last time I was here, they were. Memories of his adventure with Snowbunny reminded him of where he was. Although he didn't quite remember being above ground too much, he still seemed familiar.
Sensing Bluejay's unease, he gave her a reassuring lick. "I'm sure we'll be fine," he purred. "You've been away for quite some time, I don't think many of them will hold the same resentment they may have once had. Just show them that you're not the cat you once were." Hearing that out loud, it was probably easier said than done. Snakefang knew first impressions were everything and it was hard to change the perspectives of others, especially if it was negative. But they had to hope. "We'll be alright, Bluejay. Lets keep going."
"Thanks Snakefang, you're my rock," Bluejay said, her slow teasing voice, always sounded sweet, like a catchy song when she spoke to him. Like only Snakefang were deserving of her pleasantries. She leaned into her mate before hearing her name being called, "Dad," She said abruptly moving forward towards the tom before embracing him. "I can't believe we found you and so quickly too! Dad this is Snakefang, I'm so glad I can actually introduce you too. Snakefang, this is Lex, he's literally the best dad I could ask for. He was always there for me as much as he could. He was my rock before you were and dad, this is my new rock, Snakefang. I mean husband," Bluejay laughed nervously, "I'm just a little anxious, I've always dreamt this in my head and now it's happening."
Lex hugged Bluejay tightly, and it seemed like he might never let her go, a wide smile on his face as a loving purr rumbled deep in his throat. He lifted his head slightly to judge Snakefang, glancing between him and Bluejay for a moment, almost hesitant. But he could see how much his daughter cared for the WinterClan tom, and whatever momentary concern he had vanished quickly as he motioned slightly for the tom to join in the embrace. "No need to be nervous, Blue. If you like him, then I know he must be absolutely wonderful, and I'm happy to have him as my son in law." The silver tabby's grin didn't slip even for a moment, genuine happiness radiating from his entire being. Unlike some parents, he chose to trust his children's choice in mates. So long as they were happy, so was he.
Snakefang was hesitant of the invitation. Physical contact just wasn't something he was accustomed to just yet, especially with cats he just met. Growing up in WinterClan, he always kept things cordial and professional and, with the absence of his parents, he never really learned about affection all that well. Bluejay was the one exception: day by day he was learning more and more. But her father seemed friendly enough. If they were to have any sort of positive relationship, he would have to, at least, be respectful.
Snakefang offered an awkward smile as he dipped his head. "It's an honor to finally meet you, sir" he said as he approached them.
"Get in here," Blazingbluejay teased, gently pushing her tail into Snakefang to get a quick family hug in before backing up. She would respect that Snakefang needed baby steps, but to her, a loving embrace was as cozy as sunlight. Growing up she never had anyone except for Lex, his hugs were special and in turn so was he, no one ever touched her, not even her own mother. Snakefang was also different though, he wasn't family, but he always knew how to hold her close, to make her feel safe in the face of danger and with company when isolated completely.
"We wanted to make sure to visit you since we never got to talk to you during the battle. I just wanted you to know that I'm alright now, I was hurt, isolated, and tortured, but Wintrystar forcibly had be exorcised and has accepted me. Since then it's like nothing ever happened at all, I guess that's WinterClan for you," Blazingbluejay said to Lex.

Lex of course didn't hug Snakefang too long, sensing his hesitance. Even still, it only seemed to make the smile on his face widen all the more as he let the tom go. He managed to keep the expression on his face, even with Blazingbluejay talking about Wintrystar, but anyone could see the flicker of anger in his gaze at the WinterClan leader's name. Maybe his daughter had forgiven her, but he never would. "You're always welcome here, too, you know. If you ever feel the need or desire to leave." The tabby stated gently. "But if you're happy in WinterClan now, then I'm glad you feel comfortable there." It tore him up internally, to not just demand she leave, but he wasn't going to destroy his relationship with her over it. After all, it was much better, in his mind, for her to always know she had a place to turn to when in need, than try to shelter her from everything else around her. Though he would be lying to say that if he ever met Wintrystar one on one, he wouldn't wish her dead, or would be certain to refrain from attempting to kill her.
Blazingbluejay exchanged a look with Snakefang before looking back at her father, "Well, we have been talking that the kits should definitely leave WinterClan, but we haven't really had the conversation about if we should stay. Wintrystar's welcoming to me now, but the damage of the past has still been done and not amount of good in the future can ever right the wrongs she had committed. Nor does she or anyone else appear apologetic... But thank-you, we'll definitely keep that in mind. I guess I just don't want to move because that's Snakefang's home, I don't want to make him leave," Blazingbluejay said, leaning into her mate comfortingly, "I'll always believe my guy can look out for me, even after everything that happened."
"Rottenfang is here too, you know. If you two ever want to say hi to him. I won't tell you to leave somewhere you wish to stay, but you're welcome to visit more too. Shule would probably grant you a blanket pass to come by if you ever want, she is generally good about it if you ask. I've missed enough of your life already, I don't want to miss all the rest of your future, wherever your permanent home is." Lex ruffled the fur on the top of her head lightly. "Why don't we find somewhere more comfortable to sit and chat? I'm sure you've had a long enough journey to get here as is, you could probably use some rest, a drink, and I'll see if we can spare a meal. Get you off your paws a bit." If nothing else, he'd tell Shule he was giving them his portion for the day, if she had a problem with it. He wasn't just, not going to feed them.
Snakefang, for some reason, felt out of place being there, being surrounded by strangers. It made him rather uncomfortable. From the awkward hug to watching a father and daughter interact, something he missed out of in his childhood. Unsure of what to say, he just nodded his confirmation of what Bluejay said and acknowledged Lex's hospitality. Hearing that Rottenfang was in the Regime did perk him up. He hadn't spoken to his son in a while.
"Lex, do you know where he is right now?" he asked.
"Not offhand, but Headquarters is the best place to start, and that's where I figured we'd go." Lex answered, waving them to follow. "It's not too long a walk." Which it wasn't, because we don't need a walking thread.
After a walk's length of time, they arrived at HQ, a massive cavern with cats milling about around their own sections. Most of whom were Scouts, depositing, and occasionally taking, prey from he freshkill pile. "Whether he's around or not, someone here should know."
"Thank you," Snakefang said as he looked around the area, watching cats come and go, with no luck. As much as he wanted to approach one of them to ask them where his son was but he didn't know any of them and he didn't want to be weird about it. He turned Bluejay. "Do you know any of them?" he asked, hopeful she would give him a positive answer.
"Oh sure, um, that one's Smelly Mc'Gee, One Toe Joe, and oh over there is-" Blazingbluejay stopped with a sly little smirk that darted like an arrow, quick across her lips before licking the side of her mates cheek, "Nah, I don't know no anyone except for my old man. But why don't we go look around, make sure our sons living in a more stable home, huh?"
The tom rolled his eyes at the she-cats unhelpful answer in a time of seriousness, at least that's what it was for him, but nonetheless he agreed to have a walk through with her. "I suppose we can do that," he said as he turned back toward Lex. "How has he been doing? Has he been adjusting well to the Regime lifestyle?" he asked, somewhat anxiously. A pang of guilt struck him for a moment, feeling he was to blame for his son's, honestly all of his children's living situation. Maybe, somehow there was a way to atone for his actions, or lack thereof.
