Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Location 1: The Front Porch - 3 possible solutions
Features: (more can be uncovered with a high enough roll)
- the front door is closed tight and unable to be opened
- there are surprisingly large thorn bushes growing along the sides of the house, preventing cats from just walking all the way to the back
- there is ivy overgrowing along the side and front of the house (Sunpaw - 6) - some of the windows are cracked/shattered (Yarntangle - 8) - there are old, cut logs piled up against the house (Orchiddrop - 11)
Grasslizard grumbled under his breath as the young warrior was practically dragged along the forest floor by the rest of his patrol, constantly drifting towards the very back and digging his claws nervously into the earth the further they ventured into the small acre of woods just north of the Rabbit Meadow. He was sure they were probably fed up with his by now, but he hadn't exactly wanted to be on this patrol in the first place! A low growl rumbled in his throat as he glared at Devotedcrow, who was confidently leading from the front. Their dumb mousebrained Deputy just so happened to discover a rare herb or something hidden behind The Witch's House, completely and happily oblivious to the fact the place was totally freaking CURSED. Every Summerclan-born cat in the clan knew about it; they all had once been scared out of their wits as kits by the stories whispered to them by older apprentices and discouraged by warriors - about how "The Sunflower Cottage" was actually super haunted by a witch, and how any cat that ventured too far inside was never heard from again. Any normal warrior knew better than to step foot anywhere near the place, but, of course, neither Devotedcrow or Ratstar were born in Summerclan, so they saw no problem with throwing an entire patrol of cats at the problem.
For the official record, Grasslizard totally did not gulp out of fear when they eventually reached the front of The Witch's House; his mouth was just dry, that's all. He stared up, wide-eyed, at the dilapidated wooden exterior. It was even more unsettling than he remembered as an apprentice. But what was even weirder was the thorny undergrowth surrounding it in a U-shape, completely blocking the cats' way around the structure...which definitely weren't there days ago when Devotedcrow noticed the herb they were searching for.
"Awww!" Grasslizard piped up cheerfully. "Looks like the path to the super-cool magical herb is conveniently blocked by brambles! Too bad! Better luck next time!" woofsunlightpLutoseekerJadieuniqcrimachromatic
Devotedcrow was doing his absolute best to ignore Grasslizard's complaints and grumbles without retort, deciding that instead of taking it out on the unwilling tom, he'd just assign Mudthistle to more patrols for the next moon as payback for volunteering her son in her place. Something about how the experience would help him build character, which was apparently necessary by the trails his claws were digging into the earth. As for himself, whimsical kit tales didn't frighten him in the least---living through SunClan and striking out on his own were funny that way---but he had to admit, looking at the looming structure in front of them, he did feel a shiver scuttle down his spine. "Oh, no you don't." Recovering as he heard Grasslizard, Crow looped his good leg around the other tom's neck and yanked him close. Grasslizard secured, he eyed the cottage. "We need that herb, Grasslizard, now more than ever, so stop your shaking and let's get to thinking. If we can't go around, we're going to have to go through instead. Anyone have any ideas on how we should go about getting in?" Gazing at it, he was at a loss, turning to his patrol imploringly.

6!
Sunpaw was the kind to usually jump in joy at the idea of a patrol or better, a mission, but she had to admit, this little house really did give her the creeps. What was with this place anyway? It felt kind of icky, even if she had yet to come around here before. Still, she wasn't going to make her mentor look bad. She glanced up, looking around the little house; it wasn't that different from the one they had sheltered in when she was still with her papa.
"How about the ivy?" she looked up to the little ledge. If they tried, they could certainly try to climb that right? "Maybe it'll lead us somewhere, if we can get a higher vantage point..."
Yarntangle smiles at her apprentice, tail flicking in concentration. The window could work… She lifts her head up to look at the rest of the house, trying to see any entrances. The house didn’t scare her really at all. It just looked like an abandoned house, almost like the one she’d come from. Just a bit rundown.
“Is there any hole maybe?” The curly-furred she-cat suggests, ready to run up the stairs and inspect. “If we can’t get the windows open. Maybe a mouse or some weathering affected it.”
11! and then... a 2, so solution seen but not achieved.
Orchiddrop glanced between her mate and the other members of the patrol. "A window's a good idea," she told Yarntangle and Sunpaw, her sapphire gaze dropping to a pile of thin firewood nearby. "I don't see any holes, but maybe..." Trailing off thoughtfully, she moved closer to the pile. Perhaps she could throw a log through the window?
The white-furred Red Guard member picked up a log between her front paws, and trying heaving it towards the window. Unfortunately it was very slippery and it fell from between her paws, rolling onto the grass. "Oh, drat," she said under her breath, ears flushing hot with embarrassment.

(Roll 10!)
Netherpaw wasn't entirely sure why he had been brought along on this patrol, but he certainly wasn't going to argue with it either. It was a good way to get out of camp and be involved again. He turned his head slightly to look up at the window with his one remaining eye and stared at it thoughtfully. Orchiddrop had made a very good attempt, there was definitely a way in through there... maybe.
"It was a good try," The black apprentice tried to reassure her but wasn't sure how reassuring that was or if he should've just kept his mouth shut.
"That's a great observation, Sunp--" Crow was in the middle of complimenting the apprentice when Orchiddrop stepped forward, watching as she gripped the log and gave her best effort at lifting it. He stifled a small chuckle when it fell. "That was a good try, and a great idea," he agreed, glimpsing between the logs and the cracked windows, but it swiftly diverged to the ivy. "Well, it looks like we have two options ahead of us so far: Over or through. We can keep looking for another alternative or," he grinned at his mate, "maybe you can try chucking Grasslizard next time. He's probably less slippery." He glanced at Poppymask and Asher, noting their silence. "What do you guys think?

3!
Sunpaw beamed at the compliment, ready to go take another search around, when suddenly, her eyes widened. What was that? Something blue, with a duck bill and tail, wearing a fedora. She gasped. It's Perry the Platypus! Then suddenly, a magical beam hit everything and the territory turned into a giant ice rink! Why a giant ice rink, you ask? Sunpaw had no idea. There snowballs and castles and polar bears and kids playing hockey! What even is hockey? Sunpaw didn't know, because she was a cat. Oh, Perry the platypus was riding a plank of wood like a snowboard! Then suddenly, all of that disappeared with another beam of light.
Wait what? Sunpaw looked around. Did she dream all of that or was that real? Anyways, where's perry?
"Absolutely not," Grasslizard snapped back at the Deputy's joke; the usually laid-back tom was definitely more on-edge than usual, constantly glancing around nervously, as if he expected something to jump out of the bushes at any time. "Do we have to chuck something through the window? That's like, such an obvious way to catch the Witch's attention, you know?" Shuffling his paws, he looked over at Sunpaw, and tilted his head in mild concern when he noticed her completely staring off into space. "Hey Sunpaw, you good?" He asked, before turning back to Devotedcrow. "See? She's totally not feeling well or something. We should definitely go back...and not throw logs around like complete maniacs."
"Grasslizard, there is no witch." He liked to think he had an abundance of patience, especially when it came to others' discomfort, and that he wouldn't consider someone's fears invalid. Grasslizard was really trying that belief. Devotedcrow was a firm atheist with anything involving spirits, gods, and magic, and no matter what SummerClan's tall tales led his clanmates to believe, he was confident there wasn't anything spooky, haunted, or otherworldly awaiting them within the Sunflower Cottage. Obviously, there would be sunflowers; it's in the name! And it sounded nicer than Witch's House anyway.
He rested his tail across Sunpaw's shoulder as he felt her start slightly. "Don't let him make you worry; nothing's in there," he assured her, mistaking her deliriousness for Grasslizard-fueled cold feet. "There are still other ways inside I'm sure even if I still think throwing you inside is a great idea."
Embarrassed by her unsuccessful wood-throwing, Orchiddrop almost didn't try again. Only it was taking too long for anyone else to come up with a solution, so she hunted up a dry piece of wood and took aim while everyone else was chatting. This time she was successful, and there was an elfin tinkling of glass as the wood shattered the window and created an opening for them to advance through.
"Oh thank Starclan," Orchiddrop mumbled, giving Devotedcrow a sheepish grin. "I guess we can in now, right?"
Carefully stepping through the broken window (which Grasslizard nearly has to get dragged through), the patrol enters a strange, dusty, cluttered room.
Location 2: The Living Room - 2 possible solutions
Features: (more can be uncovered with a high enough roll) - a large sheet hanging on the far wall separating it from the next room, too heavy to move or tear with claws - two moldy chairs and a couch, the couch has several springs sticking out

(Rolled a 4) "Hey, nice throw that time." He grinned at his clanmate before they pushed ahead inside of the opening she created. Everything inside seemed dusty and old. He sneezed a few times, his yellow eye watering. "Gross. I'm glad I don't live here." He murmured, inspecting the moldy furniture and strange things inside the place. Netherpaw was clan born and had never been in a two leg structure before so he didn't even know what to look for.
