Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
- Aspenstar looked at the gathered cats with one last nod. Of course, the apprentices got an almost complete shakeup of mentors. They seemed to every month, which wasn't something that the leader liked, but also wasn't anything she could help. She kept established pairs together in any ways she could, but sometimes, she had to change the order of who mentored who. She had even considered giving her own apprentice, Puddlepaw, to Wolfriot. She had been afraid, though, that the young cat would feel unwanted if she did, and she worried about Puddlepaw more than she'd like. Her nieces-and-psuedo-children were being promoted, which made her a little nervous. Although she'd secured the training of both Rosypaw and Roaringpaw, Littlepaw wasn't being trained in the family. This, she knew, was only because she needed a strong mentor for Sagepaw and Moonpaw. The two were going to be a handful, and the unfortunate reality was that if she wanted the two to be together, and she wanted Phantomfox to be with Foxpaw, Littlepaw's training had to be outsourced. Speaking of handfuls, Crystalpaw and Berrypaw had been reassigned to Dawnbringer. Perhaps that was a cruel notion, letting Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb be trained by a new mentor, but there was a symbolic gesture of giving the tom his sister's apprentices. WIth a sigh, she offered one last smile to the new recruits, before leaping down from her post, dismissing them to their own celebrations.
Sagepaw stood at the front of the crowd, her eyes burning with an almost frightening determination. She had been hard set on either Aspenstar or Phantomfox as her mentor, but of course Phantomfox would want to be with that weakling son of his. A deputy was a good enough mentor, she supposed.
In her pride, she wasn't quite as abrasive as usual. "Good luck, Foxpaw," she told her foster brother with a twitch of her whiskers, before glancing sideways at her new training partner.
Violetglass stifled a sigh as she realised she'd been set up with her name twin, as Crystalpaw had called it. You have a funny sense of humour, Aspenstar.

Moonpaw stuck his tongue out to Sagepaw. "Yeah yeah, little miss grumpy," he snorted, before grinning proudly at his new name, regardless of the other apprentice's scorn. This was the first day of a new age, and he was just excited to be here.
The she-cat sat at the edge of the clearing behind Aspenstar, observing her clanmates and the group of apprentices assigned their mentors, particularly the two assigned to her. Standing, she padded toward Gravepaw and Sunsetpaw, stopping before them and lifting her chin slightly, gazing down at them with sharp, calculating eyes that spoke more than words ever could: you screw up, you get punished, there is no wiggle room.
Sunsetpaw rolled his eyes. "Don't be an ass," he grumbled, knowing far well that it would probably get him scolded. He didn't really care, though. He had no interest in warrior training, and any time he spent training would distract him from the garden that he'd found a few weeks ago in one of his trips outside of camp without anyone knowing. "It ain't that serious."
- Foxpaw looked over to his foster sister, offering her a smile. He had almost expected that the two of them would be Phantomfox's apprentices, but he supposed he wasn't surprised that they weren't. After all, his sister would need someone who could challenge her, and the weak apprentice was not going to be one that helped much. And, he got to be with Rosypaw! He was excited about that; if he didn't get Sagepaw, at least he got one of the leader's psuedo kittens to train alongside. That would be exciting, right?
- Littlepaw blinked a few times. They weren't sure about this whole being promoted thing, but at least they'd heard good things about Wolfriot. He was the one that helped Puddlepaw, right? Nervously, Littlepaw looked for their siblings; why couldn't they have been put together? Littlepaw had to assume that Aspenstar had a greater plan about separating them all, but what was it?
Eyes glinted and narrowed, zeroing in on Sunsetpaw, ready to strike like a hot poker or python who just spotted weak prey. “What did you just say?” The loyal guard stepped closer. “Training grounds. Now. You get to do suicide runs while I teach your friend here, who in this moment has just shown his greater intelligence compared to your lack of a brain to mouth filter, how to take down prey to be an asset to the clan. Perhaps once you learn how to respect those above your station, you may learn too. I am not your mother. I am not your friend. I am here to teach you how to not die come sunrise now that you’re no longer using others as a shield. Learn it quickly.”

Spookshiver was glistening with pride, though a part of her didn't feel any wiser. As soon as the meeting was over, the spindly feline went towards the camp entrance to start her silent vidule.
Pride pushed out the toms pale furred chest as his two apprentice's were name. With ears high and eyes bright, Wolfriot looked around for his two. He spotted Littlepaw right away, giving the apprentice a reassuring nod. He knew they must be nervous about not being placed with a sibling, and he was going to do his best to make things good for the apprentice's under his care.
Trotting over to the young cat, he dipped his head and touched his pale nose to the young cat's ear. "I'm excited to begin training," he meowed with a grin, feathery tail waving behind him.

(I can make a fun thread for Cerulean and Skunk if ya'll want @ian seeker)
Mantisopera felt proud of the two cats she was going to be mentoring...Ceruleanpaw and Skunkpaw. Even if she didn't know almost anything about them. Still they didn't seem to be the type to be a handful so maybe things would be smooth sailing for them, maybe. She saw them and gave a happy purr booping her noses onto theirs. "May I teach you everything I know and become better than I am."
Of course, Dawnbringer knew this would happen when he became a member of the Loyal Guard, but he had expected a little bit more time before he was given apprentices. He had meant to take note of the older aged kits, but with everything else that had happened lately, it wasn't exactly a priority on his list. It seemed it wouldn't have helped, however, since the apprentices he had been assigned weren't new. The names vaguely sounded familiar - perhaps he had heard Duskveil mention them before? Still, the dark brown tom's gaze searched through the apprentices, attempting to find Crystalpaw and Berrypaw, despite the fact that Dawnbringer was terrible with facial recognition and didn't know which ones they were.
ashestoashes that would be great ! lavellan omg i am so sorry i don't even know how i managed that
Littlepaw looked over to Wolfriot. They had heard Aspenstar speak of the tom in a private meeting with Larkspur about mentoring, a private meeting that Littlepaw was under no circumstance supposed to be listening into. Not that that really mattered to the cat - most of the time, nothing did. He was the one that Puddlepaw liked, right? Their honeyed gaze looked completely devoid of any emotions, something that was common for them. Maybe it was a lacksidasicality, or maybe it was depression and homesickness. Littlepaw had yet to decide. "Oh, yeah, uh. Right," they meowed after a moment with an awkward twitch of their ear. "Aspenstar... uh says you're one of the best." baewolf
- Sunsetpaw rolled his eyes. "Yeah, that's not happening," he meowed with a scoff, his gaze a challenge. If there was something that he wasn't going to do, it was playing nice with his mentor if this was how she was going to act. What was the worst thing she could do to him, make him clean the dens? That would give him more time in the garden after, the garden being the only thing that the tom even remotely seemed to care about. Warrior training didn't matter to him; in fact, if he had any say, he'd not do it at all. It was a waste to learn skills that you'd never use, and he'd already become perfectly content with the idea that he'd never be a "normal" warrior. "Also, never once did I say I hid behind other cats? Now you're just making things up to make yourself feel better. Are you a little nervous about your first apprentices, Zinniawing? Seems like you might be overcompensating." ѕнαdow✩ i genuinely didn't mean him to be like this but i guess that's what happens when your one mom goes mia and your other mom goes crazy and you're the only surviving kit of like 10 ?

Berrypaw found herself strutting right over to Dawnbringer. "You're Duskveil's.... cousin, right? No, that doesn't sound right. Brother?" She had honestly been surprised that Aspenstar didn't replace her former mentor with the newest deputy; wasn't that the entire reason Duskveil had been her mentor in the first place? So Aspenstar could keep a careful eye on the two apprentices from hell? "We didn't get to train much while she was our mentor, so you'll get mostly a clean slate! Isn't that so cool? I'm sure you're goin' to be the best mentor," she beamed, her kittish disposition still clearly there. "Crystalpaw, get over here ya slug!" biyuu ☆彡
- Skunkpaw looked over to Ceruleanpaw after his nose was booped, looking a little dishelveled by the touch. This was their second mentor, due to some switching up that had to occur to accomodate Aspenstar's particular desires. That was okay, he supposed; it wasn't like the two had been trained much in the first place. Instead, they'd been left mostly to fend for themselves, which had seemed to... mostly work, as the two toms were leading the pack in terms of apprentice success. Skunkpaw still had his eyes on top apprentice, after all. He blinked twice. Maybe with a new mentor, the duo's luck would change, and maybe they wouldn't have as much trauma on their first day with a new one. "Uh, hi," he meowed with a nod to Mantisopera, still a little awkward. "I'm sure this'll be great. Hopefully no bodies this time," he meowed, before realizing he probably shouldn't have said that. "Sorry, Ceru," he then added. seeker
The black cat narrows their eyes at Littlepaw, trying to get a feel for what they were like. Like some of the other apprentices that had showed up out of nowhere, the little cat was found abandoned and disgruntled at the Nightclan border. They could've gone either way, Sunclan or Nightclan, but from what Dragonpaw understood, Sunclan was a bunch of weirdos. They walk over to Littlepaw and Wolfriot, nodding once silently. Their amber eyes showed no emotion, the neutral gaze a bit eerie. baewolf @ian - Ceruleanpaw's eyes widen in surprise when he touches noses with his mentor, not remembering this part of the last ceremony. He was confused as to why Puddlepaw's partner had been promoted and not them, but he supposed it wasn't his place to ask. Ceruleanpaw coughs awkwardly when Skunkpaw mentions dead bodies, hoping his mentor hadn't caught that. However, with his luck, she most definitely did. He didn't want anyone to think he was weak. He felt the constant need to impress everyone, especially Skunkpaw. Wait what? ashestoashes - Larkspur rounds up her apprentices, knowing these two would be an absolute handful. Oooooh boy. However, she was excited. She'd missed the apprentice class when she became apart of the loyal guard, so now she was finally getting her own pair. "I'm pleased to teach you all I know. We'll get you in top shop to protect the clan." She purrs, touching her nose to each of theirs. "Sagepaw, you be nice." She says with a hint of amusement. - Rosypaw anxiously shifts her weight. She was hoping to be placed with Aspenstar, because Phantomfox kinda scared her, plus she loved her aunt. But she was placed with Foxpaw! So that was great. - Puddlepaw sighs in relief when he's kept with Aspenstar. "Seperated again." He smiles sadly to Skunkpaw, looking in slight jealousy at Ceruleanpaw. He missed his brother more than anything, but he hardly ever saw him.
As the little black cat approached, Wolfriot took a small step back. Their steps had be silent, spooking the older tom. "Well hey there Dragonpaw," he meowed, repeating his greeting of touching his nose to the young cats ear. "You ready to get started as well?" Despite the indefference and nervousness he had been shown between the two, Wolfriot could not be more excited to finally have apprentices of his own. Through the crowd, he saw Puddlepaw standing next to their leader and gave the tom a wave of his tail.
Turning back to his own two, he looked them over with narrowed eyes. "Now where should we start?" he murmured quietly, tail waving slowly behind him.
