The Private Meeting
Regulus E'tan walked over to the abandoned building looking around making sure no random cats were around. The dark tom didn't want any distractions during this meeting, so was double checking everything to be on the safe side. Feeling that everything was secure the Nemesis walked into the old shed, choosing to sit down in the middle of the room. He had been watching this place for sometime and no two legs ever seemed to come around here. It would work for a rendezvous point. Since stepping into the leader spot things had been rather interesting for the League. On the one hand they had more cats joining their group, which had become extremely helpful with the extra work load everyone had been given. There had been more younglings and trainees in the group and even a permanent surrogate spy to take in any younglings abandoned or orphaned out in the city. With strong numbers also came stronger hunters, which everyone so far had proven themselves useful. He was proud of his Assassin, External Proxy, and Internal Proxy for their hard work dedicating to improving the League as well as the hard training they put their respective trainees in. Even the new Shaman was proving beneficial stepping up curing any illnesses or injuries the members would occasionally get. Scratch that, they constantly had new injuries due to fighting amongst the other cats in the city. With this thought Regulus frowned. He was waiting to hear the reports come in, but from what he had seen it seemed supplies were getting dreadfully low within the city in more ways than one. The Nemesis could feel that he himself had become lighter...could see it on everyone's faces. He knew they couldn't stay in the city forever...not with how big they were growing. It was starting to attract unwanted attention to the two legs which was very dangerous to the League. When he had stepped up Regulus had hoped to move them out somewhere safe but unfortunately being from the city he knew that nowhere around here would work for them. They needed to make changes and fast if they were to endure. This time though he had a team he could depend on. Hopefully they could all come up with a plan to save everyone.
From a short distance away, Alexios watched as the new Nemesis entered the shed. He was trying to take his new role as the Nemesis' bodyguard more seriously than when he'd been a mere assassin successor. He'd spent most of his time back then trying to impress Funk with a life-sized Funk doll stitched together from different body parts stolen from different deceased cats, but that didn't seem like something Regulus would like. Which means I should totally make him one, his mind supplied him with.
He banished the thought from his mind (for now) and sauntered into the shack, once he was kind-of-certain the area was clear of threats. "Hiya," he said, with a dip of his head to Regulus E'tan. "Did anyone bring food? All the good staff meetings have free food."

(I love Alexios omg)
Alexios walked in and...wanted free food. Tsk tsk. "As much as I'd love to my dear Alexios it's just not within our budget right now. Maybe next time." Regulus chuckled at the small jest but partly it was true. They just...didn't have much to work with. "Good to see you here first but I shouldn't be suprised. You are my wonderful body guard after all. Good work Alexios." He gave a small pat on the back to Alexios.

Perhaps it wasn't a surprise that the second cat to arrive was none other than the Shaman. Although she found no pleasure in being the first person at any meeting, it was unlike her to be late. It was only logical for her to step into the shack as soon as the Assassin had made his way in. First might have been uncomfortable, but anything later than second was unacceptable to the flame-colored she-cat. Timeliness, after all, was mandatory.
"It seems like most of our budgets are becoming slim," she meowed with a blink. She was doing the best she could, she really was, but the Shaman was starting to deny medical treatment to her patients. She could patch them all up with cobwebs, there was enough of those in this city, but her actual herbs were being rationed to the point of near extinction. Unless your wounds were fatal or infected, it was unlikely that the Shaman would use herbs. There was a part of her that felt bad about these practices, but the other part reminded her that this was Primal Instinct. It may not be exactly the one she had left all of those years, but the blood of the League still ran through these cats' veins. That meant they'd have to be okay with subpar medical care; the tradition of Primal Instinct had once been only visit the Shaman's den if you wouldn't survive without it. Unfortunately, the tradition had returned out of sheer necessity.
"Regulus E'tan, Alexios," she then greeted with a nod.
Bermondsey wasn't the type to be late to anything, but considering how he had to practically pry two cats from killing each other before he came, it was clear that the lanky cat wasn't in the best mood. As much as there was a part of him that didn't believe in the sadism his parents did, he could never truly escape it, and the moment he was back in the league, he could remember exactly why his parents were so sadistic in the first place.
Truly, not everyone deserved to live here. The city was even less cushy than the forest was; there were rats and pigeons galore but little else that could be called prey, and frankly, human food wasn't always great. Truly, only those who could survive on the scraps of humanity could survive properly here, and with the growing population came growing problems...one of them being that there were just so many cats who were too soft. Who didn't contribute anything to the league at all. He had broken up a fight today, but he had been sorely tempted to just watch them finish one another if it didn't mean that he'd be giving more work to Charlotte. Call it a favour, but the stone-cold heart gave way for those in his family.
"Shall we begin now or are we waiting for the rest of the scragglers to come along?" his ear twitched impatiently, as he sat next to the golden she-cat, his eyes regarding Regulus E'tan with a curiosity. If he could guess right, the other proxies were probably busy attending to the idiots outside who felt it appropriate to waste more energy fighting than actually finding more prey.

Athalia was next to arrive, the small white she-cat entered the shack, her paws trembling slightly. She hated the city, all the loud noises that echoed throughout the vast whitespace that surrounded her, never knowing exactly the source of these sounds. Even the overwhelming abundance of scents were too much for her to handle even on the best of days. It was because of this that she had chosen to be External Affairs proxy, in hopes of spending more time outside the city than in it. It wasn't until she had followed the faint icy blue figure in front of her to where they seemingly disappeared into out of thin air. With a sigh she followed in the direction she had last seen them in hopes she would end up in the right spot.
Once met with several more colorful silhouettes she had guessed she's found the right spot. Dipping her head in greeting to the others Athalia had decided to make herself scare by choosing the farthest spot to sit in but said nothing to her fellow staff.
"Everyone is in attendance." The black tom slid from the shadows of the shed, padding toward the group and sitting on the outskirts of it, tilting his black head. "Feel free to begin." Crimson eyes slid over to the new Nemesis and the reason he was back in Primal Instinct, Regulus E'tan. The culture and behavior was different in the League than it was when Marchosais was Nemesis. Considering the relationship – he dared call it friendship, though something twisted within himself, a sort of nausea that either came from self-loathing or excitement, he wasn't sure – he had managed to plant and watch bloom with Regulus, he had faith this was a good different.

Regulus nods to everyone before he finally spoke. "Welcome everyone and thank you for attending this meeting. As you know Primal Instinct has been doing well as far as our number are going. We have more members showing up and joining us but proving they do deserve to reside with us. Due to that we have seen more work and progress being done. However we are now facing drawbacks...Charlotte mentioned something about having low herb supplies shortly before I arranged this meeting. I have no clue how low we are on supplies but Charlotte can give us insight on that. We also have been low on food supplies. Living in the city we don't usually hunt much or don't have a lot of prey options to choose from, so we usually steal or simply take what we need. Unfortunately there seems to be a shortage of food to snag that we need which is very bad. Not to mention the fact that since we have had to work harder on obtaining food this has lead to some extremely bad activity on the two legs side. I hear reports of two legs coming closer and closer to camp each day...seems we might be drawing in unwanted attention and that makes me nervous. Last thing we need is two legs coming down swooping in on us. While these reports are useful they are also problematic. We face multiple problems...diminishing or lack of resources and the possibility of our camp being discovered and destroyed by two legs. So...how do we solve this? I think together we can come up with a solid solution." His green eyes looked at each and everyone of their faces hoping to hear something useful.

Bermondsey's eyes roamed the select group chosen for the meeting. He didn't know many other than their leader and those related to himself, but alas, they were all here for a common goal, and for that, he'd show his own respect for them...for now. All of the things Regulus E'tan spoke of were valid concerns. The city was no place for a group like them; they constantly had to compete with the rogues for things as simple as food, there were too many dead ends and corridors that despite his quick memory, often proved difficult to navigate, and of course, there were the humans, the fact that too much racket and they could come swooping in was always a threat in the distance.
"There are only two solutions," he spoke plainly, factually, "either we stop feeding those who drain on our resources, or we find a home that's better suited to our coming and going." The fact of it all was that he had seen the cats who called themselves hunters these days; more than once, he had found himself feeling an absurdity, at how utterly useless some of them could be. "You have to admit there are those in our league who prove to be nothing but a waste of time and food. They contribute nothing, not even potential. Should we feed those who only know how to take and risk the survival of us all, or should we focus only on those who prove to be useful to us all?"
Perhaps it was heartless to say so–after all, he knew exactly how 'soft' some of his family were, the two kits he had taken in were, but wasn't that why he had left them elsewhere? Primal Instinct wasn't for everyone, and Bermondsey was damned if he didn't know the truth.

She glanced over to her uncle. She wasn't surprised by his proclamation. There was something that those in her family knew particularly well, and that was that Primal Instinct was not a clan for the faint hearted. Most of the cats here meant nothing to her; her cold apathy spreading especially when felines came for her help when they didn't need it. If they were going to beat the hell out of each other, Charlotte had made it clear that she wasn't going to be of any assistance to those who put themselves into stupid positions. It wasn't necessarily that she thought that Primal Instinct should exist without medical treatment; it was more of necessity than anything.
"The herb situation is worse than the food situation," she meowed with a flick of her golden tail. "If we were to go to war right now, Primal Instinct would die. There would be nothing I could do except watch bodies pile." This wasn't something that was necessarily unusual for the she-cat; she'd spent years of absence collecting enough bodies to fill a crypt. "As it stands now, unless wounds are fatal, I do not have the supplies to spare." There was little emotion in her voice; the logician had no room for feelings when it came to situations like this.
"Bermondsey is right. If we stay here, it will quickly become survival of the fittest." She remembered the days of the never-ending night, when blood seeped through the cracks of the ruins. It had been the survival of the fittest then, although not because it needed to be. Those were nights where those days still haunted her, but when she had returned to Primal Instinct, she had been surprised that it no longer was.
"I do have one idea, though, that could prolong the need to move." She shifted slightly, her eyes narrowing. "Before I returned to Primal Instinct, I had set myself up in the Garden of Tatlia, the garden once owned by the Primal Instinct shamans. The herb supplies there are in abundance, enough so that I could experiment without fear that I would run out. With a small patrol, I could go back and pick the essentials. That way, if something was to happen, like an outbreak of green cough, we would still have time to make a game plan."
Alexios nodded, having not really been paying much attention. "Yeah, what Charlotte said," he said, staring at the ground and watching an army of ants trail their way across the floor. He stepped on a few of them idly, watching the others divert their path around his paw. "Wait, a patrol? I would ask to go but I don't want to come back and find out Regulus' head got all smashed in while I was away."
Crimson eyes sparked in amusement at Alexios behavior – and the vivid image he painted on their own nebulous leader. "I agree with both Bermondsey and Charlotte. The League is in no position to defend themselves anymore than they already do. Leaving could be the best decision on all points. Deeper in the forest perhaps? I believe the only reason twolegs would come so close to our encampment would be because they feel threatened by our presence, in one way or another. If we leave, we could scavenge for ourselves a few more seasons of survival for the League."
The tom glanced at the growing pile of ants around Alexios, assuming they were attempting to wage war against him for killing several of their comrades. "Athalia and I can spend some time organizing a patrol to accompany Charlotte to the garden, if you so wish it." He looked at his fellow proxy, then the shaman, then the nemesis.

Regulus was quiet listening to everyone's opinions on the matter...they all had good points. Very good points. As it was there wasn't anything else he could do within his power but this next decision. "I see we all have close enough to the same mind set. While most of us have proven ourselves worthy perhaps we should work the softer ones even harder. Either to step up or be chased out of thr League. But even if we did weed out the problem cats there is still too many of us with how low prey and even lower herbs are. I think we should send a patrol out to find the garden Charlotte reccomended and I will leave moving into a new territory on the table. Personally I have never delved deep into the forest having been born in the city and not in Primal Instinct. However if you are going to survive you have to do anything it takes. Whatever it takes. Lets send patrols out to the garden and perhaps have them check out various locations that might be worth while and of interest. What do you guys say to this?"

Bermondsey nodded. "Should I go with Charlotte to see where the herbs are?" he asked. He didn't feel comfortable about letting the golden she-cat go on her own. He knew she could defend herself whenever she wanted really, but there was part of him that was just...protective over his own kind. "–or should I do something else? Hold a vetting trial perhaps? Oversee some type of training?"

Charlotte nodded to Regulus, before looking to her uncle with a squint. "I'm quite confident I would be able to manage without a trained special ops patrol," she muttered, looking a little disgruntled. "I'd suggest the patrol be at least three additional cats. With four felines total gathering herbs, we should be able to get a wide enough variety of herbs that we don't kick the can at the first hint of greencough."

"I agree...with Charlotte. She will have four cats accompany her that Athalia shall choose for the patrol. I would reccomend having an assassin successor go with the group. Charlotte you'll lead the patrol and they will listen to what you say. Or else.
Athalia after you make the patrol you are in charge of making patrols to gather information to see what we can do about getting more herbs from around town...as best as possible. We also need to be extra careful about possible attacks on us. With our Shaman away and with few herbs to work with we must be ontop of possible attacks. Maybe sending some cats to other clans would be nice to perhaps get a feel for them? I think you mentioned something like that to me earlier. Double down on training the trainees if you need more paws on this. Do whatever it takes. I have confidence you will be able to handle these tasks.
Meanwhile Cross will make his own patrols to gather more food in anyway possible. I don't care how you do it but be careful of not getting caught. Once we have more intel on where to get more herbs you will make a special patrol to obtain those herbs. We will have our mage help with what herbs are the most crucial at this time. Also have about two cats on watch for the camp, that way if we have an attack at the very least we will have a warning. Rotate as how you see fit. You'll do well with this.
Bermondsey you too have an important role. Seeing as apparently we are having fights with The League you will be in charge of dealing out punishments you see fit for any cat that causes trouble within the group. You can work with Cross and Athalia if you wish to have cats do extra work if you wish. Be creative with how you wish to do punishments.
Alexios you will be in charge of guarding Bermondsey and having another Assassin Successor cover the Mage. We will have another Assassin protect myself. Do we have any disagreements about what I have proposed?"
The Nemesis looked to each and every cat trying to get a feel on each of them.

Bermondsey smirked. Oh, punishments? That, he knew how to do. With a nod, he glanced to the other proxies, before turning back to Regulus. "Then I suppose I have plenty of work ahead of me," he replied, "if that's all, I should start."
