Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
WinterClan is traditional in its own since; Gods, culture, and pureblood enthusiasts. With valuing pure-blooded WinterClan cats over outsiders or those with mixed blood, Wintrystar has decreed the usage of arranged marriages. She has decreed it as a way to increase their numbers and to please pure-blood enthusiasts. She has dived the tasks of marriage on two of her knights. [break][break]
It now falls on the Knight of the Wise to pair eligible bachelors and bachelorettes, and then on the Knight of the Stars to commence the ceremonies. Fear not, arranged marriages are not permanent. The Knight of the Stars conducts two types of ceremonies, marriage and divorce. Your assigned mate needs not to be your final mate in life. You may choose a mate, also known as your chosen mate. Parents may request certain arrangements for their kits, but they are not always guaranteed. [break][break]
What makes you an eligible bachelor or bachelorette? Simply by being a warrior for two moons or more. After two moons, the Knight of the Wise will begin looking at you for pairing with another. You have before that time to chose a cat within WinterClan as your mate. Only cats within WinterClan are acknowledged as mates, chosen or assigned. [break]
With the addition of arranged marriages comes marriage and divorce ceremonies to be performed before the god and clan. Marriages are done at sunrise and divorces at sunset. Each cat involved in the ceremony, including parents of the cats in question and the Blessed, arrive covered in ceremonial paint created from crushed herbs and flowers as well as all the flowers they’ve earned in their time and their crystal of rank. The Knight of the Stars conducts the ceremony form there paying tribute to the gods for the ability of life, kits, marriage, and divorce. It is thanks to our lord that we are as strong as we are both in blood and numbers, and that we are able to perform such ceremonies. [break][break]

To be married, you have to complete a few requirements. Be a warrior or older, have the blessing of your parents or Sovereign if you have no parents, and have the blessing of the god of lighth. In cases where one’s parents do not approve of a match, it can be overruled by the Sovereign if they agree it’s a good match. Marriages are sacred and once the ceremony has begun it can not be stopped and can not be divorced for at least a moon. The newlywed couple are encouraged and required to stay awake all day and night in prayer to the god of light following the marriage ceremony for a blessed family life and many kits. Cats of the same-sex are permitted to be married and while it is understood they can not have kits of their own, they are encouraged to raise any kits without family. The ceremony is held at sunrise before the whole clan when the God of Light first appears and the party ends at dusk when the nortehrn lights appear.[break][break]
[attr="class,"vplotsubs"]Divorce Contract :
To be divorced from your chosen or assigned mate for a new one, you must meet certain requirements. These are to have had or raised own litter of kits, both parties agree to the divorce, one or both parties have a new mate selected to court or be married to within the moon, the parties parents must agree to the divorce or in the case of no parents the Sovereign, and finally, you must argue why your new mate is worth leaving your current one for. Marriage is a strong alliance between cats and thus it is not easily broken. Newly divorce cats may not speak to each other for a full moon following the divorce as a sign of respect for the other’s desired separation. Divorcing cats must sit a full day together, beginning at dusk of the previous day and ending before the divorce ceremony, in silence complimenting their lives together. This ceremony will be conducted before the clan at dusk following the moment of silence.[break]
[attr="class","vplottext"] Marriage is sacred and many things can happen over the moons. Therefore, there are a few exclusions to the arranged marriages. One, if your assigned or chosen mate vanishes, you may take another and be counted as widowed before the clan. You will have one moon to find a new chosen mate or be placed back into the arranged marriage system. Two, widows may take a grieving period of two moons before being placed back into the arranged marriage circle. Three, ancient-age widows of couples who have produced or raised many kits and lived their happy lives are exempt from being placed back in the arranged marriage if they so chose for clearly they lived with their one true soul mate and deserve final happiness. These are the only three exceptions to the decree. [break]
