Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Kits wouldn't recognize the name, but anyone old enough to catch their own prey knew who Yellowmoon was. She was a Dark Forest cat whose spirit unleashed havoc when Fairytalehunt and Fallingleaves were tricked to release her. Luckily Autumngossamer had been able to trap her spirit into the body of a bird to keep her from coming back. They had kept the bird sealed off in a cave, but when Harvestcharm went in the cave she was gone.
Fairytalehunt was out of the medicine cat den in an instant with a wide eyed expression, "She's gone?" He asked, uneasily looking over to Brakewings before his gaze searched for his sister.
Harvestcharm's ears were pinned against his head, he could only guess why his brother was looking at their sister. The two of them had released Yellowmoon once from being tricked. They would likely be the first to be suspected of releasing her a second time. Padding over to Fairytalehunt he sat down, but he was less so there to support his siblings and more so to support Brakewings. The medicine cat liked Yellowmoon, so Brakewings would also be a prime suspect as well. But he doubted it was Brakewings, he just didn't seem like the type to disobey rules based on what he experienced with him.
Unfortuantely DayClan had been hit by a stroke of bad luck. Glowstar had been caught by WinterClan, Fia had been killed by a pack of dogs, Windcahser disappeared, and Goldenphantom was recently suspected to be killed by a pack of wolves. Which left the cold reality that Yuccablossom was in charge of DayClan and therefore of this situation.
"Oh, good. I never liked that we imprisoned her anyway. Poor thing, maybe her soul will finally be at peace now that she's a bird," Yuccablossom mused as she approached the crowd, wholly unaware that she was actually in charge of DayClan at the moment.
To be fair, she was used to taking the back seat on the Immortal Council. The tortoiseshell was among the newest to team and tended to have... well, let's just say radical ideas... so she often wasn't taken too seriously and she was at peace with that. So long as Yuccablossom represented herself genuinely as she always did, she would have no regrets regardless of what was decided for the betterment of the Clan.
But what would happen if there was no one to keep her in check?

Fallingleaves had been far to busy with her newborns, juggling the three toms that clamoring over her, and dealing with the news of her mother’s death to have had much involvement in clan politics lately. Yet hearing that Yellowmoon had been released, she made her way over to the medicine cat’s den in search of her brother. It wasn’t a far leap to assume one of them had been the ones to release yellowmoon, but this time she had nothing to do with the situation. “Is it true?” She asked, pausing at the entrance to the medicine cat den
"Harvestcharm said she wasn't there," Fairytalehunt confirmed.
His gaze shifted to Harvestcharm with a bit of unease, "He checked and she was gone," He shuffled his paws a bit, "Hey, can I talk to you privately," He asked Fallingleaves, clearly wanting to break away from Brakewings. Which was no surprise given that anyone would likely suspect the medicine cat right away of being the one to free Yellowmoon.

Fallingleaves nodded, stepping aside to follow after her brother. There were not many cats that she listened to the way she did with Fairytalebride. They had been through a lot together, and she always took what he had to say more seriously than most. Did he know something? With Yellowmoon on the loose none of them were safe, and Autmngossamer might not be able to seal them away this time. Faith
Brakewings darted from the den on Fairytalehunt's heels, his heart rate immediately spiking. The task he was working on - sorting out some crusty old leaves - could wait; this was far more important. He jerked his head up and scanned the camp until he spotted Harvestcharm and then nodded to him, reassured to see his friend approaching. Good-- good, Harvestcharm wouldn't come to sit here if he thought Brakewings had anything to do with setting his former mentor free.
He bit his lip as he watched Fallingleaves and Fairytalehunt step away, tempted to follow them, but there was nowhere to hide in the camp. They would notice if he tried to listen in. Instead, he shifted his attention back to his friend. "Maybe someone caught her and she's on the fresh-kill pile right now?" he suggested. The idea sounded weak even to him.
Fairytalehunt played with his ear with his claw for a moment before finally focusing on Fallingleaves with an expression that looked like he was about to burst with information, but he managed to keep himself together. Farther apart from the rest of the clan he breathed in before speaking, "Listen we have to help Brakewings. I know everyone's going to think it's him and that's part of the problem... I think Harvestcharm is framing him," Fairytalehunt began to pace back and forth, "Okay so like, it's weird, Harvestcharm just started hanging out more with Brakewings out of the blue when he was demoted from medicine cat. But he would ask about Yellowmoon from him. And you know how we messed up and basically made that potion that released Yellowmoon? Yeah, well I've been watching him make potions lately like he's trying to figure out how we did it. Harv isn't really trying to be friends with Brakewings, he's trying to get close to him to get the information and throw him under the monster to take the blame he should be getting. And all I can think about are all the times he's spent glaring at us during family gatherings, and hating us for not being nice all the time to his family. Whatever he wants Yellowmoon for, it's to hurt us. I just- I wanted to believe I was making things up in my head when I saw the signs, but now that she's actually gone I can see his plan was all about framing Brakewings," He admitted.
His panicked gaze slowly lifted to look up at Fallingleaves, "I think we need to tell Yuccablossom. At least give her this information so she can decide what to do with it, right? Or am I just acting crazy?"
"It's going to be alright," Harvestcharm said reassuringly to Brakewings placing a paw over the other toms. "I mean, seriously, screw them if they blame you... And you don't have to act like you hate her just to save your skin. You shouldn't have to do that," He said genuinely, his green gaze staring into Brakewings for a tad too long before looking away, "Um. anyways, I just came to say that I'm going to look out for you like I always do and nothing's going to change that," He blushed, but couldn't look into Brakewings eyes out of embarrassment for saying such a vulnerable statement, "Umm. If that's okay with you, of course," He said, his gaze just barely inching to look the medicine cat in the eyes.
The ginger tom stared back at him, then nodded slowly. "I know she's... made mistakes," he meowed slowly, "but she was still my mentor, more than Flyingcolors was. She trained me longer." He couldn't say more than that. He understood it was dangerous to appear loyal to her now, even if Harvestcharm was the one asking. Brakewings had been demoted once; he didn't want it to happen again.
His tail twitched as he met Harvestcharm's gaze again and then he shrugged casually. "I don't mind," he reassured him. "I just wish it wasn't needed. I've spent my whole life in service to this clan and half of them still won't give me the time of day." Brakewings curled his lip. He wasn't the only one this clan mistreated - not even Defiledblood deserved to be separated from her family.

Fallingleaves listened to her brother's concerns carefully, considering them for a few moments before speaking her own opinion "But if you are wrong about this, it could cause things to get very messy" she closed her eyes for a moment considering both sides of the situation "If we speak out against Harvestcharm, it wouldn't look well on us either. It could look like we are trying to hide something, or put it on our...siblings... shoulders. Its common knowledge that we are not exactly on good terms with them, and I doubt the clan has forgotten whom it was the released Yellowmoon the first time. Do you have any solid proof of what you are saying? I believe you, but it will take more than words to convince others" Faith
Fairytalehunt grimaced looking back over to Brakewings and Harvestcharm, "There is one person who is evidence. I know that if this is true that Brakewings knows, I bet he just doesn't want to lose his chances at having a friend." His claws played with his ear for a moment as he tried to think before turning back to Fallingleaves, "I have to try something."
His paws moved over to Brakewings feeling heavy as bricks because if this didn't work Brakewings was as good as doomed, but at the same time only he could free himself.
Harvestcharm turned to see Fairytalehunt looking a bit anxious if he had caught anything they had been talking about, "Uh, hey. Crazy stuff, right?" He asked, hoping that sounded at least a little believable and not as awkward as it sounded in his head.
Fairytalehunt ignored Harvestcharm and instead looked Brakewings in the eyes, "Don't do this to yourself, you've already been rejected by the clan once, don't let them do this to you again all in the name of protecting Harvestcharm."
"I'm sorry what?" Harvestcharm interjected.
"He's not your only friend, I've worked beside you in medicine, I trust you, I won't hold you down but you have to fight this," Fairytalehunt said with desperation gleaming in his eyes for Brakewings to understand, "No matter how hard it is, you have to tell the clan about Harvestcharm because if you don't there's no other suspects, but yourself."
Brakewings stared back at Fairytalehunt, his eyes full of doubt. He couldn't survive as an outcast again, the humiliation of becoming a warrior had already eaten away at his soul and left scars that might never heal. He had a great destiny to fulfill, he knew it was still out there, that his job wasn't complete yet.
He turned his head slightly to look up at Harvestcharm, his green eyes round and mournful and hurt. "He's the only one, other than you, that trusts me," he murmured, "the only cat to stay by my side. The only one who doesn't believe that I could do this." His ear twitched back, hoping someone would protest that they trusted him too, but his heart wasn't waiting for a supportive cry. He knew what they all thought of him.
"But... you didn't do it, right?" Brakewings mouth was dry. "Harvestcharm," he leaned in a little closer, pleading, "tell me it wasn't all a lie."
He knew what his friend had been up to, but it had all been harmless experimentation. Only now he was thinking it all through again, wondering if he had been wrong, and maybe that was why the tom had stuck so close by him all this time... to make it easier to frame him. So stop him from exposing Harvestcharm for what he was. He was feeling sick now, it had started when they first discovered the canary missing but every second it was becoming worse.

Fallingleaves lingered in the background, simply watching the exchange. Body language, tone, and expression... All things that spoke far louder than words. She let her brother take the lead in the situation, he knew what was going on better than she did, knew these cats better than she did. However, she wouldn't stray far. Not when the cat before them could very well be the one behind this whole situation. So she sat and she watched, waiting as the scene began to unravel.
"Hey, care to fill me in on whatcha all are talking about?" No one else was really talking, so it didn't take long for Yuccablossom to narrow her sights on the group of cats standing around Brakewings. She had a smile on her face but actually looked kind of annoyed by the lack of transparency from those she considered her very dear friends (AKA everyone), "I already said it's OK that Yellowmoon escaped. So if that's stressing you out, don't worry about it!"

Harvestcharm physically moved back at Brakewings words before darting to Fairytalehunt and Fallingleaves. "You can't be serious," Harvestcharm said, his smile halfway between dying and tilting past the curve of an average grin. Even as his voice exited his mouth he could hear the way it trembled with an under layer of fury that would definitely be mistaken as sorrow... Or at least he hoped so. "Out of every way you-" Harvestcharm began to speak to Fairytalehunt and Fallingleaves, but midway through he realized he was talking to the wrong person, instead turning to Brakewings, "This is what the Eerie's do," Harvestcharm said, his tone hardening into steel with a metallic coldness dripping from his voice. For the first time, he dropped even trying to call his siblings family, because clearly they weren't. They weren't his parents kits, they were Fia and Golden's. "They accuse of us things we didn't do, make any mistake our legacy..."
Harvestcharm's paws trembled as he placed one paw in front of the other in a repeated attempt to make them stay still, "I didn't free her. And besides... Yucca says it's okay, so there's nothing left to talk about."
"C'mon, let's go Brakewings," Harvestcharm said as he moved his way towards the camps exit, turning around to check that the medicine cat was following him.
Fairytalehunt placed a paw over Brakewings, "He's using you Brakewings, I get that he believes in you, but I was also the first to believe in you and I still do. Don't do this... And besides, the clan can piece together that Harvestcharm isn't seeming too innocent either. How will it look if you follow him?"
Yuccablossom huffed. Even though Harvestcharm had mentioned her name, no one was talking to her directly or even acknowledging her presence. Normally this would really annoy her but she was aware that she had inserted herself into this private conversation meaning that she owed them a bit of extra patience.
"I'm not sure exactly what Harvestcharm or Fairytalehunt are asking of you, Brakey, but it's not fair for them to make you pick between the two of them so quickly," She mewed, pressing up against his side for supporting whether he liked it or not, "You don't have to answer either of them right now. I'll always defend your right to your opinion or your silence, same as any other cat. What do you want to do?"
Brakewings stared after Harvestcharm, silent as he listened to the invasive cold in his friend's voice, silent as he watched him turn and step away. There was a heavy feeling in the pit of his stomach, he didn't want to be the one to do this, but he was the only one who could. Was this the grand destiny he had been living toward? All along, this is the choice he was needed for?
"You're lying," he replied, his voice soft enough that his friend would barely be able to hear him. "I know your siblings. Better than you do." Hadn't he served alongside Fairytalehunt for moons? Hadn't he seen Divinefavor at her most vulnerable, even if they weren't very close?
He stiffened as Yuccablossom brushed against him, far from trusting her, but he knew in his heart what he had to do.
"It was Harvestcharm," he answered flatly, his expression unreadable as it fixed on the tomcat. "He was the one who let her go, I'm certain of it."
Harvestcharm stepped back from Brakewings, but as he did he felt as though he stepped back into the past. Back when he was accused of a crime his brain dared not wander to. He remembered the Sun Gods powerful figure towering over him, wondered if he only appeared tall in his memories because he had been a kit or if he faced him again if he would be the same height. But maybe the most memorable part was the way the Sun God struck him and Sweetwheat down with the curse. Maybe that was why he reacted the way he did.
"Y'know what, fine, secrets out, I did do it, thought if anyone would point blame it would be on Fairytalehunt and Fallingleaves after what they did last time. But I didn't expect to get a free pass by Yuccablossom, so it looks like no crime was really done, I've just lost my families respect. Oh wait, they never respected me to begin with." Harvestcharm said evenly.
Fairytalehunt placed a comforting paw over Brakewings, making sure to stand beside him with Yuccablossom, before shooting a glare at Harvestcharm, "I guess you won what you wanted then. I hope you're happy."
Harvestcharm's paws trembled, before breathing in, forcing his nerves back one last time to look at Fairytalehunt, "Yeah, thank-you so much for making Brakewings choose you or me. The one person who wanted to be my first friend," Harvestcharm answered back furiously before tearfully looking at Brakewings, "I'm as happy as can be."
