[This thread is for the Lunar Eclipse thread that is going to take place on June 10th. In order to get a little ahead of the game I figured I would start it a little early]
Tinymutiny had been reluctantly dragged out of the warrior's den, flanked on either side by her children so that she couldn't flee. She had been doing a little bit better lately, but was no where close to normal. At least now her pelt was somewhat groomed, and her acts of seemingly unprovoked violence had been dwindling. She had even finally allowed her kids to take out the old bedding once the last remnants of Oakshade's scent had faded from the moss. She was even eating small meals again, though it wasn't much it was proof that she was trying. Trying to move forward instead of backwards, even if she couldn't find it within her heart to forgive herself for Oakshade's death. She had been lured out by the pleading of Valleyrose and Snakebounce, and the promise of something that would make her feel better. It was only when they reached MoonClan's border that things came to a screeching halt, the silver she-cat digging in her claws and refusing to budge "NO!" it was one word, but that was all she needed to make her thoughts clear. She turned to take off, but in her confusion no matter where she turned all she bumped into was one of her kids who had made a ring around her to prevent just that -JadieHoneystormbiyuu ☆彡Novastardance
Bravewolf was among those heading to MoonClan, though he had a distinctly distasteful feeling upon reaching the border, as if the territory beyond were just horrible in some way he couldn't necessarily place. Of course, it was pretty obvious why the Sun God would utterly despise MoonClan lands, and he barely managed to stop himself from flinching at the sudden shout of Tinymutiny, the cinnamon laced silver tom turning molten amber eyes on her and blinking at her violent reaction. Honestly, he didn't have the words to console her. What had befallen her mate was terrible at best, and he wouldn't choose to relive those memories again if he didn't feel the need to go here.
"Mom," Valleyrose urged, her amber eyes shining brightly with tears that she just managed to hold back, "We've got to do this as a family."
Despite her confidence, the calliby she-cat was very torn on this visit. She wanted to visit her father's grave and properly mourn him, but she didn't want to go on MoonClan land. All of her lessons and experiences had proven it a place of horror and despair.
But she'd go. For Oakshade and for Tinymutiny. The whole family needed closure and if they weren't all there it simply would not work.

Tinymutiny spun in circled, clearly terrefied and not thinking very clearly. It was only the fact that she was surrounded by her kids that was keeping her simply forcing her way though the living wall of fur. She was shaking all over "NO YOU CAN'T GO THERE EITHER" she was shaking all over, every hair along her spine raised up towards the sky "That is evil land, if you die there you will never rest. You'll never get to the isle" every where she turned there was no openings for her to dart out of as two gentle paws firmly gripped her face...
Magnoliablush held onto Tinymutiny tightly "MOM" she commanded firmly, trying to stop her own racing heart. Tinymutiny was unpredictable, and it wouldn't take much to send her over the edge into another murderous rampage "You are right, but you need to listen" she held tight to her face forcing their mother to look at her "That is why we are going, we have the Sun God with us this time. We are going to go to MoonClan and put their souls to rest, Oakshade will be able to go to the isle" She wasn't even sure if Bravewolf would be able to do it, but what was more important to her was making sure that her mother believed it "You couldn't save him last time, but this is your second chance. I need for you to be brave"
Tinymutiny's feral fear slowly began to fade from her eyes as her daughter spoke, the tension in her shoulders slowly releasing "I...I can save his soul?" but now her sharp eyes landed directly onto Bravewolf
Damek cursed whatever being above himself existed that would have allowed him to be a god. This was one of those things he presumably could do, but in actuality had no real clue, simply expected to either figure it out or pretend everything was fine. And he wasn't entirely sure he could lie to the she-cat, so instead of speaking, Bravewolf gave Tinymutiny a single, solemn nod of affirmation, simply hoping that was enough to convince her.
A dark figure emerged from MoonClan's dark forest without as much as a word. His pelt was covered in runic designs, all decorative to the naked eye. His eyes were a regal hazel that complemented his dark fur. He wore what looked like a mane around his neck, and the Maine Coon's larger size became apparent as he approached the group. His approach betrayed his youth as well. Scars did not lace his pelt like those of his elders. Ravenpaw was the typical Shadowhunter student in almost every regard.
The tom raised a brow at the sight of the cats restraining Tinymutiny. "Geez, keep the crazy on your side of the border, okay?" It had been moons since MoonClan's return, but the tom grew up exiled from his own territory. Seeing these cats alone made his blood boil. He waved his tail for them to follow. "Come. I've got better things to do than babysit y'all so let's hurry up."

If it had been any other cat whom had answered, the outcome would have been very different. But coming from the Sun God, the simple nod was enough the quell the fear bubbling up to the surface. She swallowed hard, slowly slumping towards the ground as the fight faded from her eyes "What do I need to do?" it was only then that the MoonClan cat appeared though he eyes never left Bravewolf, trying to find answers. Wasn't what she had asked for? To find a sliver of hope, some way that she and Oakshade could be together again once more. It wasn't a lot, but it was something. A shred of hope in the darkness that had filled her mind for so long.

Snakebounce narrowed his eyes at the Moonclan cat, but kept his claws sheathed. They had just made amends with Moonclan, they didn’t need the small tom messing that up now. The seal gray tabby pressed himself against his mother, touching his nose to her cheek as he looked at her.
“It’ll be okay mom... trust us... please?” He asked softly, only looking at her. “This... this’ll be good for us...”
"Follow along." Bravewolf told her, stepping over the border after Ravenpaw cautiously. He shared Ravenpaw's sentiments, and much rather would have been anywhere but Selene's territory at this moment. It wasn't safe. But for now all he could do was listen to his own advice to Tinymutiny and follow.

"i...Ok...." was her answer. There was a moment's hesitation, but no protests left Tinymutiny's lips as she followed after the MoonClan cat along with the rest of the patrol. She leaned against Snakebounce for support, her thin frame not enough to cause him to much discomfort as it would have to one of her other smaller children. She still seemed lost and out of sorts, but there was something else there in her glazed eyes. Determination perhaps? She didn't quite understand what they were doing, but if it meant saving Oakshade's soul she didn't need to understand. Not when the command came from the Sun God himself
Ravenpaw didn't look back to see of they were following him. If it were up to him, this whole trip would have been a firm no. They had run them out of their camp before, and whose to say they wouldn't do it again? Before long they arrived at the old MoonClan camp. By now it was completely deserted, its dens devoid of all signs of the life that once inhabited them. "Here we are."

Tinymutiny managed to stay mostly composed on the walk to the place SunClan had stayed when forced out of their territory, though her fur never fell completely flat. When the tree came into sight, she crumbled unable to go any further. Her entire body seemed to tremble, the strength she had tried to muster leaving her small frame "NO, DON'T DO IT" she desperate scream cutting through the night air, caught up in the memories of that day. Oakshade being ripped away from, forced to watch as a tree sprouted forth from his body, the roots cutting through his rotten flesh as easily as the soil. The day Bloodystar had made the members of SunClan decapitate the dead and discrete their bodies so that they couldn't rise again. The day it had cemented in her mind that she would never get to be with him again, alive or dead. She was crying, begging, pleading "He won't get to go to the isle, he'll be trapped here" before bursting forward past his kids and slashing at the tree "Let him go, LET him go, LET HIM GO" the claws on her front feet snapped, leaving blood to trickle down the trunk, onto the earth as the roots greedily soaked in the liquid
"Can't you hear them screaming?" as her attempts at clawing down the tree became weaker and weaker as her body tired "They are in pain, their souls are trapped. You have to help free them. It's not just oakshade, they have them!!!" it wasn't the first time Tinymutiny had sounded insane, but this time it was different... A pained voice echoed through the dark trees, a voice all the cats on the patrol would know
"SAVE ME!!!! PLEASE JUST LET ME DIE, IT HURTS. ITS HURTS SO BAD"
The voice was young, clearly that of a cat in agony. But more concerning than that, the voice belonged to cat they all knew to be dead. Honestpaw. The young apprentice who had been found murdered in the Bone yard not even a moon before.
Valleyrose took a back seat as Magnoliablush stepped in and comforted Tinymutiny. She was a very patient cat but after moons and moons of trying and failing to help her mother, she was starting to get, well, exhausted. Mentally and even physically. There was only so much one heart could take and she felt as if hers was always on the borderline of giving out entirely. At least she had Carnagepanic... he may not be present now but just knowing he'd always be there for her brought her some solace.
"Mom, there's no one---" She began when Tinymutiny began wailing, only to cut herself off when she heard the caterwauls of... Honestpaw? No, she'd been there, she'd seen his body, there was no way that he could possible be here unless it was in spirit. But that didn't make sense either. He died on SunClan ground and the Sun God was even present at the burial. There was no way he could be here... right!?
"Ravenpaw, what in the world is going on?!" She turned to face the MoonClan Warrior, her fur bristling, "This is a cruel joke!"
Really, he couldn't have cared less what happened to these SunClan cats. If some spirit whisked them away this moment, he wouldn't care. But this... it just didn't add up. His eyes widened at the pained sounds. Thought he was quite young and not versed in SunClan antics, he had his share of suffering at their paws. The months in the desert during his kithood were to this day the toughest in his life. Cries for water and food sounded eerily similar, but lacked the sheer terror and pain that resonated in cry sounding from the forest. He lashed his tail and looked towards the sound, and fear flashed through his gaze. "I don't know! This is your thing not mine!" He knew spirits and the like frequently walked through MoonClan territory, but never in his training did they discuss this. "Just... get out of here!"

"Please" came a much softer voice this time, "It's dark in here, can you get me out of here? Can you hear me?" this time the voice was a female, who sounded defeated. The voice crackled, as if they had been screaming so much they had gone horse "My sister was so upset, I have to tell her that it wasn't her fault" the soft voice was followed by a soft sobbing, a voice that some of the cats might recognize. The quiet sobs were interrupted by Honestpaw's voice once more "HELP ME!!!!" The voices echoed all around them, but it was difficult to tell from where. It seemed to be coming from now where, and everywhere all at once. The thick mist that filled the camp making it difficult to see more than a few inches past their noses
Tinymutiny was crying to "OAKSHADE" she wailed hoping that he would be able to hear her "We are here, please speak to us!" she pleaded, her crying turning to shrieks as suddenly something was on top of her. Before she could react there were claws at her neck, holding her tight against their chest with blood trickling down her neck. Standing behind her was a solid black cat with what could only be described as as a blank face. There was no emotion there, as they stared blankly ahead as if they were doing nothing more than looking at a stone in their path. Through the mist more cats began to emerge, all with the same glazed over expression
"Move, I kill" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ With all eyes one the scene unfolding before them, it was easy to see how it had been missed. Bravewolf was no longer among them. Gone without a trace.
Ravenpaw did his best to shrink into his fur. All this... what did they bring here? What did they get him caught up in? He frantically tried to look for a break in the fog, but he couldn't find anything. He could see an uncountable number of shapes moving through it though... then it hit him. He was gonna die! The dark Maine coon let out the most vicious growl he could, which was to say not much of one at all. He had to get out, and when that cat grabbed Tinymutiny he saw his change. "Go ahead and take the crazy with you!" He turned to try to run for the exit.

Bravewolf found himself surrounded by a thick circular gray mist, the fog slowly creeping inwards; tendrils clawing their way closer. Slowly smothering everything that it touched, prowling forward like a predator on the hunt. Encasing the shrubs and trees, their leaves turning brown and brittle an falling to the ground silently one by one. The grass that tickled Bravepaw's feet drained of color and falling flat onto the newly hardened soil. Even the light from the sun fading to darkness, the mist moving to block the sky. It grasped at his fur, tugging the warmth from his body as it coiled around him squeezing him in it's icy grip. The young warrior could fight, leaving the mist to dissipate before continuing it's onslaught without fail. Only the faintest glimmers of sunlight from up above able to find it's way through the dense fog that had him surrounded.
A voice cut through the deafeningly thick silence "hu'ulyat ga lametwas" Honeystorm
"MOM!" Valleyrose's attention snapped back to her mother and her calliby-and-white fur stood on end as she saw her mother pinned down by what could only be described as an abomination. In the moment she didn't notice that Bravewolf was missing or that anyone else was near her. All she saw was a faceless aggressor going after Tinymutiny at her weakest... and she was going to stop it.
"I don't know why you are here or what you want, but we can talk about anything you want without any threats."
Valleyrose's voice sounded a lot more calm and collected than she actually felt. Rarely did an encounter that started with such violence ended peacefully and she knew that. So, even those on the surface it appeared that she was trying to talk this out, the truth was that she had dropped a seed on the ground and placed her paw over it before the dark-furred monstrosity had spoken...

One moment he was there, and the next... he wasn't. It made every hair on the back of his neck stand up and he spun around trying to see if anyone was there around him. For a split second, he wondered if his was one of Selene's tricks... but that was only because they were on MoonClan land, well, he had been, now, he wasn't sure. The idea of it being his sister was quickly tossed out for the far more obvious solution, one that made his stomach sink as the moments wore on. He wasn't even concerned about himself, the god was more concerned about the fate of his clanmates. He could handle himself, his clanmates were powerless if it came to it. He lashed out at the mists, trying in vain to get free as the voice seemed to worm it's way into his mind, and his molten eyes cast about, unnaturally bright, searching for the source.

The mist seemed to have a mind of its own. When he lashed out, it parted for moments before closing again. It was like trying to catch a cloud with a net. As it swirled around him the voices of Honestpaw and the others grew to a crescendo before the deafening silence resumed. "Na a'shhiripa anta..." The swirling mist constricted and thickened further. Despite the summer day, it became chilly and dew formed on the dying grass beneath Bravewolf. The mist itself felt like the coldest, windiest night on the top of WinterClan's mountains. Honestpaw's voice grew louder as his cries turned into wails. "JUST LET ME---" A sickening crunch surrounded Bravewolf. Honestpaw's voice then whispered into his ear. The tom was no longer screaming, but defeated. "Please... just let me go..." Honeystorm ------------------------------------- The cat holding Tinymutiny didn't answer the children's cries, it's claws holding steady even as the she-cat squirmed in it's grip. Blood was beginning to bubble up from the shallow wound. The small group of cats was now surrounded on all sides. They were different shapes, sizes, and colors, but each wore the same vacant expression and symbols painted onto their fur in crimson.
Magnoilablush's feet were frozen onto the ground, having never been much of a fighter. Instead her eyes were flitting from cat to cat, taking in the scene around them in great detail. It wasn't body paint that they were wearing, but blood. The symbols were all the same, though as to their meaning she had no idea. As the drew closer the temperature seemed to be dropping, causing her fur to ruffle outwards. The standoff didn't last of long, something strong coming from behind to grip her scruff and force her to the ground. The she-cat shrieked, but not able to escape the firm grip. A second set of paws, coming crashing down towards her skull with a sickening crack JadieNova
As if on cue, the light around them was gone. Leaving the cats in complete darkness, the sun blocked by the moon. Even the light of the faint glimmer or stars was now gone. The cats of the most descending upon the patrol from the shadows. Each them now had their own battles to fight. Unable to see one another. Valleyrose would feel claws raking across her flank, Snakebounce a woosh of air as a cat went running past, and Ravenpaw. Well he would no longer be touching the ground with his feet, strong jaws lifting the apprentice dangling him in the air@stardance
