Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The Moon Goddess's beauty dominated the night sky, casting the fauna of her Clan in shades of silvery blue and turquoise. It was a summer night but a cool breeze whispered its way throughout the territory, making the night positively idyllic for the nocturnal felines who called it home. Outside from the rustling of the leaves, however, the territory was silent as if sleeping...
... until a bloodied, mud-covered paw broke through the earth and disrupted the calm. Before long a full-sized tom cat was birthed from the disturbed earth. It was hard to tell his condition much less the color of his fur as he was covered in mud from head to toe, although he was definitely not fighting fit.
"T-thank you," He coughed out "I never... I would have never gotten out of there without your guidance, Cypressblaze. Oakshade."
Standing in front him were two specters, his aunt and uncle, who smiled down at him. They did not speak as they peered at their nephew and eventually faded away, their duty of freeing the tom now complete... well, mostly. He was out of the hole but exhausted with no clear idea as to where he was.
Getting to his feet, he limped over to a tree and leaned against it, closing his eyes and praying to find just a moment's rest before the next crisis...
"HOLY SELENE IN ALL HER GLORY!!!" Just about everything about that paw reaching from the earth scared the living daylights out of Ravenpaw as he dove into a nearby fern. Did he really just see that?! Did he seriously just see a zombie? No... no. Those things didn't exist. This had to be something else. It had to be. He slowly peeked his head from around the tree to see a full cat emerge from the earth. He clearly had been down there for awhile. He couldn't see any of that tom's fur, only mud. He shivered and pushed himself from his hiding place. "You're on Moon... aww I gotta check." He jumped forward and just nicked the tom's leg, and he sighed with relief at the sight of blood. "Just... give me a minute..."
Twilightveil didn't say anything to Ravenpaw as he approached and barely winced when the apprentice scratched his leg. All he did was growl softly and narrow his bright blue eyes on the dark-furred tom that had found him. After a few minutes of absolute silence, he finally cleared his throat, "You said this was MoonClan?"
It was no surprise, really. This territory was the last place he'd been before becoming trapped in the earth. It was just... well, hard to swallow, that he'd been so close yet so far from other cats for so long.
Really, he would need a long night's sleep to process whatever this was. Did a cat really just rise from the earth? He had heard that something like that happened to SunClan in MoonClan's territory, but that was so long ago. All of the zombies had long since been gone. Even in the silence the tom glared at the newcomer, half convinced the tom was just a figment of his imagination. "Well, yeah obviously. It's night, I'm wearing my paint, and I'm not sacrificing you to the Sun God. That only leaves MoonClan. Now... what the hell are you?"
"Forgive me. Last time I was above ground, the only cats who wore paint were those in SunClan and, despite their name, they, too, experienced nightfall," Twilighveil's voice was a bit terse. It hadn't taken him long to realize that cat who had stumbled upon him was likely, for lack of a better term, an idiot.
Sighing, he pulled away from the tree and shook some of the dirt from his pelt, revealing a deep cross-shaped scar that covered his neck. It looked as if someone had tried to right his throat out, although it was totally healed now.
He rolled his eyes. Any cat would half a brain would realize that their paints were radically different. There was no similarity between paints for show and paints that gifted his Clan with the ability to see beyond. Clear, this tom was a bumbling idiot or ignorant. Maybe both.
But what caught his attention was that he said the last time he was above ground. How long could a cat survive there? A few days at most? "Tell me, who is the leader of SunClan?" The cross shaped scar did... interest him, but he had to wait. If this cat was a killer, he didn't want to fight.
"Bloodystar," Twilightveil spat the former High Priest's name like it was some kind of poison, his arctic blue eyes burning with hatred for the tyrant who had wrecked his life. The gray-and-white tom had spent a lot of time alone underground with nothing but his thoughts - and the occasional ghost - to keep him company. He spent all his free time dreaming of revenge against Bloodystar and SunClan, "A strange question... Is he no longer leader?"
"Uhh... no. He's be gone for awhile. Someone else took his place. Her name's... Littlestar, I think." This cat had to be living under a rock to not know that. "Where in the moon's name have you been? I'm this close to slapping you."
"Littlestar's back?!" Twilightveil seemed honestly surprised by the news, happy, almost. He hadn't known the High Priestess extremely well but she was leagues better than her successor. He could return to SunClan now... but... did he really want to? That was a question for another day - he had to deal with this tom right now, "Forgive me, I've been trapped underground since the fire in SunClan's camp. I fell over the waterfall and woke up underground, where I've been for, well... I stopped counting after a few moons."
Well... Ravenpaw must have eaten something weird with his meal this morning. It had to be impossible to survive underground for that long... but he clearly did. His reaction seemed too genuine to be fake. He slowly shook his head and let out a soft growl. "Just... go back to SunClan or something. I don't care, get out of here."
"No," Twilightveil replied instantly, his voice monotone and his arctic eyes burning, "I will not be returning to SunClan. Littlestar's leadership was what raised Bloodystar. It's the nature of the SunClan and the Sun God."
Now, maybe he could get a bonus or something for this. "Then if you don't go back, your gonna come with me. You've seen enough of our territory as is. "
"I've literally just seen you and this tree..." Twilightveil murmured, although he didn't really have any problems going with Ravenpaw. It wasn't like he had anywhere to go since he wasn't returning to SunClan, "But sure, I'll go with you."
(We can probably end this one here, unless you have more ideas?)
