Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The world was always bright for Sunkit, her vivid green eyes bursting with excitement as she scrambled out of the nursery again. The SummerClan camp was her playground, but there were other things past the boundaries of where she was allowed to go. She had seen it, too! The moment she had opened her eyes, they had seen the forest around them, the wilderness in all its glory...she had grown up mostly on the move, always carried by either her papa or auntie Charlotte.
She missed them sometimes. Often, the feeling went ignored in pursuit of some other excitement, or in the whirlwind of getting adjusted to SummerClan's life, but today was quiet, sunny. The other kits were already taking their afternoon naps, and she was still awake, unable to sleep.
With a sigh, she pushed away those feelings again, opting to choose something from the fresh-kill pile. Whatever she couldn't finish, the other kits certainly would. They were always so hungry anyway. Grasping a plump mouse in her jaws, her smaller frame–leaning back in an attempt to dislodge it, when she felt herself stumble, rolling into someone else with an 'ooph!'
Yarntangle was adjusting into clan life, all bits and pieces of her former house cat life fading away. Her once a day brushed coat had become a tad unruly, the curls and waves in her fur looking more and more like the tangle her name contained. The once bright nail polish on her claws had become chipped and dull, and the ignorance of coming in without knowledge of clan life faded away quickly. She was now a clan cat, beginning to look the part.
The cream cat had started to the fresh kill pile, proud of the catches she’d made earlier. She had a rule with herself, she would only eat something if she caught two specimens. It was the way she’d taught herself how to hunt quickly, hoping those fighting skills would settle in as the hunting instinct had. She’d sat near the pile, enjoying the summerclan breeze that carried a hint of sea salt. Then the kitten stumbled back into her.
“Oh, hi!” She purrs, hazel and earthy eyes looking down at the tiny thing. Yarntangle had adored seeing all the kittens that tumbled around. She’d never seen them before, and she could hardly believe she’d ever been that small. “That mouse is almost as big as you are.” She teases, gently picking the kit by her scruff to set her back on her paws. “There you go sunshine.” She smiles gently.

Sunkit let out a squeak of surprise as she felt herself being pulled up towards her paws. It had been a while since she had felt another cat pick her up, and she couldn't help but feel another pang in her chest, as she found her paws once again, whirling around to look the other cat in the eye, almost about to say something indignant, but the warrior's words stopped her in her tracks.
"Wait, that's not my name," she pointed out, unaware that the cat was just speaking of a pet name, "I'm not a warrior yet. My name's Sunkit! Not Sunshine...at least not yet." Her eyes were bright, already distracted from the snarky comment that had almost emerged from her tongue. The kit's head tilted to the side curiously.
"Why is your fur so....poofy?" she blinked with a giggle, "I mean I know I'm fluffy too but....yours is so....curly! My papa says my fur sticks up when I wake up; did you just wake up?"
Yarntangle gives Sunkit another easy smile, her eyes glowing. "Well, Sunkit, you could've had me fooled. You look big and strong as any warrior there ever was." She wraps her tail around her paws, a brow raised. "Sunshine would suit you, I think. Too bad I'm not able to give you that name myself."
She tilts her head to mirror the kit, the same direction she had so they still looked eye to eye. "I don't know why my fur's curly." Yarntangle laughs, giving a look over at the unruly hairs littered among her body. "My old friends used to say I looked like a sheep." A laugh escapes her jaws, shaking her head no. "I'm not so lucky," she purrs. "My hair always looks like this."
Yarntangle redirects her gaze towards the freshkill pile, before back to Sunkit. "You should eat. Maybe I can take you out for a bit, somewhere I'm allowed to anyways."

(omg, yarntangle is my discord server name HAHA)
A sheep? Sunkit tilted her head to the side, her eyes still shining with a newfound curiosity. "Those are the....big things with the curly fur near the barn, right?" she chirped, "papa and I saw them once! They were so big! I thought they were going to trample us, but they were....well, they didn't." The kit's story was animated, and she giggled at Yarntangle's words.
At the notion that she might be able to leave camp with the warrior, she was practically vibrating with energy. "Really?" she gasped, "where can we go! I haven't seen everything yet! I mean, we went through some of the territory before I joined but I was asleep so I didn't get to see anything! Can we go? Please please please?"
She looked at the mouse, before taking a big bite. Maybe if she ate quickly, they could go immediately!
Yarntangle grins. "Yes! That's exactly what they are." She purrs. "Sheep aren't very smart." the cream colored she-cat whispers with a wink. "They wouldn't trample you because they probably can't even see you. Their heads are full of cotton." the she-cat enjoyed watching the kitten's story, wondering how cool it must be to grow up in the wild. She'd been a housecat, so she never got to explore the same way.
"Yeah!" she grins. "We'll go to the beach." That was the one place Yarntangle really knew on the territory. She loved the water, and she loved the calm feeling she got while watching the waves splash over and over.
"Slow down little one! You don't want to choke." She grabs a mouse from the pile, also eating quickly so they could go on their journey.

"Beach?" Sunkit questioned, her mouth still full. She had never heard of the word. They had come from a different world, after all, one of ancient forests and strange cities and landscapes shrouded in darkness. She had never heard of anything called a 'beach.' Whatever it was, Sunkit found her tail waved high in the air in anticipation for this little adventure. How great! A warrior who was willing to take her out; how lucky was she?
After eating a few more bites, she started to feel full. "I think I'm done!" she announced, licking her chops to rid of the leftover mess that was probably on her mouth, her eyes shining brightly, "can we go now?"
She laughs softly, cleaning up after the young kitten so the bugs wouldn't find the mouse before a cat did. The curly furred cat pads to the nursery and leaves the rest of the mouse before returning to her new little friend for the day. "You have to promise to stay right beside me, okay Sunkit? You can't go out of my sight." She was sterner than before, but she wanted the kit to be safe, especially in her care.
"Follow me!" Yarntangle starts out of camp, gait slow to allow the kitten to keep up with her. "What do you know about the clans so far?" She asks as they begin out of camp. "You and I, we're learning together." Yarntangle smiles. "I'm kinda new to the clan as well."

Sunkit nodded excitedly. "Of course!" she replied brightly, already sticking to the other cat's back paw, scrambling after Yarntangle without another word. While she was small–certainly for her age–she had traveled before with her father, and she was nothing if not determined. At the warrior's question, she shrugged.
"Not a lot," she admitted, "just what my papa said. That...they were all soft-hearted but they protected their territories pretty fiercely and they didn't like intruders...but I guess maybe he changed his mind?" He did leave her here after all.
