Cat name and bio:Serpenthaze
Born with the elegant beauty of silver velvet. His chest, throat, muzzle, belly, paws, and tail tip highlighted in luminous white. Dotting the areas of silver is a complex pattern of tiny black spots and swirling rosettes. Serpenthaze’s had a small pink nose, light citrine colored eyes, along with large bat like ears that add to his ever so odd features. While he is impressively tall and taller than the average warrior. While he isn’t as tall as his great grandfather Phthaloabyss nor his grandfather Echeveriajinx. His appearance carry fragments of forgotten bloodlines, clans and many stories. Along with it faded memories that scatter like dandelion seeds on the wind. He is Moonclan born and his mother’s family had existed in Moonclan for several generations. While his father’s family has only existed for two generations. While he is proud of his family snd considers himself a family man at heart. He is barely a baby deer that is just getting his footing. He is a newly named shadow Hunter with rising talent. He is a skilled fighter and strategizer that always seems to be thinking five steps ahead in dire situations. Not caring if he has to manipulate the behind the scenes for the sake of his clan. He would move mountains if he could. His loyal to Moonclan and their goddess Selene run deeps in his veins. While he isn’t quick to call others traitors. He tends to look down on the Mundane, Downworlders, as well as members from the other Forest Clans. Believes they are merely bugs beneath his paws and they can either join Moonclan and the guidance of Selene or be squashed like a flea. While his facial features may appear gentle and he will even greet you with a polite warm smile. On the surface he appears friendly it’s merely an act to get you to drop your guard. Deep down he is dangerous creature who is unpredictable in every sense. It’s unknown if you will get a gentle polite Serpenthaze or the cold, harsh exterior.
Activity on Classic (1-10): I was fairly active as Nightclan's deputy prior to me being demoted. I did put my heart and soul into that clan and cared deeply about it. I do care about the clans I am apart of and always give my 110%. I always try to reach out to others and make others feel welcome to boost activity. If for some reason my activity for a week is shaky I inform my leader of the reason. I am always open and honest with my leaders. I did originally think my new job was going to effect my ability to get on classic, but the shifts are actually 7-5 and I don't have to work weekends or holiday so a lot more free time then originally thought. What excites you about MoonClan?: If I'm being honest Sam explaining Moonclan to me was one of the few reasons I am here. I wanted to roleplay in it and be apart of it. Sam explained Moonclan a bit to me and it peaked my interest. I actually feel horrible about not giving this clan the time of day over the last 2 years. I do believe this clan has potential with the system, customs, and the religion. I've been reading further into the lore, the customs and religion and I feel its really unique and there are a lot of plots that can be generated around it. I am actually familiar with the books series where the Moonclan inspiration comes from. I also feel that I could have a wide range of unique character with this system too. For one I think rping a deputy with a parabatai bond with another cat would be interesting. For one is a character that could of shared a childhood together. So instant connections there is also a way to help boost activity. The idea of recantation is also interesting which is the idea I used for my character.
A plot idea for MoonClan: While I am not sure what was originally planned, but maybe a plot to ease in the system/customs.
Also apologize for in advance if this ends up being mostly word vomit.So disclaimer I don't know Ravenstar's stance on Elementals, but according to the Enchanted Forest Page Moonclan hates Elementals. So I'm basing this off of that view point. Now I have zero idea what you had in store for Luminaries or Downworlders/Elementals or even Moonclan in general so I'm just rolling with this idea. It would be a multi step plot that could I believe bring a lot of the lore and elements on the page into play.
Plot Title : Return of the Moon
Part 1: I will go back and track down the plot thread, because I'm not quite sure how much time has passed since Moonclan was kicked from their territory and have returned, but currently the clan is very small. If they were to go up against some of their powerhouse neighbors at the moment they would severely lose. Also it would appear not many of the original Moonclan members still exist due to this exile?? To get Moonclan's numbers back to its former strength. They will want to build up their numbers. Also I would bet this clan is a bit on edge after being exiled from their own territory and now changing leaders. So the added strength would lessen the stress that this clan is probably feeling at the moment. Also thought of this in a way to introduce certain aspect of the clan if it hasn't been introduced yet? So first I would introduce the Luminary position. Take the most skilled Moonclan cats that are left and have them tasked on going out and recruiting numbers in the name of Selene. To bring more Mundane who would hopefully later Petitioners and then go through the Ascending process to become full Shadow Hunters.
Part 2: Now that Moonclan has the added numbers, and many of the Mundane have Ascended to become Shadow Hunters under Selene's guidance. They are feeling a bit more comfortable, but with Sunclan's god being back into play (Idk if this is an open fact please correct if I'm wrong). Maybe Moonclan isn't feeling still completely safe, maybe even possibly paranoid they will get exiled from their territory again. Moonclan recongizes that they have several elementals living within the clan. While I'm not sure if elementals can only ever be Downworlders or if they can become Shadow Hunters at some point. Regardless each way I can see Moonclan still considering them as second class citizens or maybe almost as weapons ?? But maybe treat them with a tiny tiny bit more respect than what Winterclan was giving elementals. I could view this as the part where pairs of Luminaries are tasked in tracking down other elementals. Either to exterminate them or convince them to join Moonclan with the false hopes of "Safety, a roof over your heads sort of thing". When a Luminary pair has found an elemental. That pair of Luminary or just one of the luminary could be assigned to that elemental permanently as a sort of guard. To keep and eye on them??
Part 3: Now that Moonclan has a small collection of elementals. Maybe this is how Parabatais are introduced ?? This is offered to the luminaries that were paired together during the elemental round up and Shadow Hunters that had showed promising sides of compatibility. Maybe at this point Selene has introduced the Parabatai bond ritual to the cats that could become Painted Sisters. I could imagine that at first the 12 moon rule wasn't in existence, because they didn't realize how the parabatai bond worked. I could imagine that this ritual is offered up to the luminaries and a few hand picked Shadow Hunter Duos, but it ends disastrous? Either the bonds end up fading too quickly or they completely break. This ritual is tried on a few Shadow Hunter and Luminary students who are younger than the age of 12 moons and its discovered that the bonds didn't fade and were more successful.
Various ideas for Moonclan:
Student Classes: Maybe small groups of students are paired to classes and assigned a class number or a name?? They respond to class threads together and allows for others to have an idea of what characters in Moonclan their character could possibly interact with?? Also maybe even have some natural class rivalries happen, friends, and even help possibly pairing up cats that could potentially end up having a parabatai bond with each other.
Mission Threads (mandatory for students to be promoted?) : Whether its Luminary students being assigned to a mission to go spy on another clan, scout out a potential elemental sighting, or take care of some issue. Or Shadow Hunter students being assigned to a mission on the home front. I believe having some monthly missions for each student class, but assigning them temp Shadow Hunter or Luminary teachers could help further their education. There could also be certain mission threads for just Shadow Hunters / Luminaries. These missions could have a ranking system like D, C, B, A, S. Maybe have a system where the more missions a cat completes the more they can move up the ranks?? For example if a Shadow Hunter has completed a certain amount of B and A ranked missions they have the opportunity of being considered for moving up to a Luminary position?? For a Luminary if they complete a certain amount of A and S ranked missions they can be considered for a possible Council seat? If a Shadow Hunter student completes a certain amount of missions they could maybe be moved to a Luminary student instead?? This is just an idea to help promote activity and incentives to actually respond to mission threads. There could be a Mission Sign up thread and the missions could be refreshed every month??
D - being the easiest and more for students
C - being for students, but they need the assistance of a teacher.
B - Being for solely for adult Shadow Hunters
A - Being for Shadow Hunters, but they require the assistance of an Luminary or two??
S - Being the most dangerous and only can be completed by Luminaries.
