Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Ratstar let out a yawn as he stood up on the hillside, assigning the final patrols for the morning. "An' finally, Grasslizard an' Weevilpaw; you two are on Breakfast duty fer the Nursery. Due t' the recent increase in kits, we need extra paws huntin' fer them in particular. I'm sure ya both can handle it." Drowsily blinking his eye, he suddenly noticed a pair of cats in the small crowd, and stood up a little straight. "Ah! Nearly forgot! Asher an' Wispycloud; there's been sightings o' Twolegs earlier than usual near the half bridges on the Southern Sea. I want ya t' investigate an' see whether we need t' change course fer patrols down there. Report t' me when yer done. That's everythin'." Without any further comment, or even glance in the two Redguard's direction, the tabby tom weaved through his clanmates and into his beech den for a nap. pLutoJadie
This would be Wispycloud's first mission as a Red Guard, so she was already nervous enough without the addition of her crush, Asher. Last time the two of them had spent any alone time together she had horribly embarrassed herself with the whole beach-ball incident and now Ratstar had set them up for it all over again. Ah, well. When she applied for Red Guard she knew what it meant. She'd have to toughen up.
"Asher, as my senior, you should take the lead," She mewed formally, pointing her head toward the direction of the Southern Sea, "I'll stay on the lookout, of course. One can never be too careful when twolegs are involved."
Wipsycloud blushed and flicked her ears back, embarrassed, but it only lasted a second or so before she regained her practiced composure. She took a few steps froward and placed herself in the lead so Asher couldn't see her face and, most importantly, she couldn't see his.
"I thought it was worth trying," She bluffed with a nervous laugh, scanning the terrain ahead of her as she made her way toward the Southern Sea. Ugh, really, it had to be this place again!? Wispycloud was starting to feel cursed with bad luck, "Anyway, the twolegs were probably just a one time thing, it is summertime, after all. They love it here."
Talking about her theories, especially when they were positive, seemed to calm her down. She just hoped her companion would follow along.
"Wait, you used to be with twolegs---" Wispycloud began to ask, her orange eyes shining bright with curiosity up until Asher just had to go and bring up the one embarrassing event that was still on her mind. She cut herself off midsentence and looked away from her companion so he wouldn't see her blushing, and quietly muttered, "... Yeah, maybe..."
Wispycloud had been born and raised in SummerClan. The most she knew of twolegs were what she could observe from a distance, but she never got too close to them. The gray-furred she-cat was very intelligent but had an almost fear of things she didn't understand. It was one of the reasons why Asher made her so nervous, normally she could sort of predict what others were going to do or say, but with him it was nearly impossible.
"I guess not, haha..." Wispycloud felt compelled to agree with him although her unease was still present just a little bit. She didn't have anything against Asher for his origins, if he had been from any Clan or colony she certainly wouldn't have thought twice about it. But... a kittypet? He used to cuddle up with twolegs? The thought of doing that herself made her skin crawl!
"... So... Anyway, we're looking for twoleg activity... Nothing to report yet, it seems. Do you see anything suspicious?"
