Unseenlights watched as her three youngest children raced ahead of her and the rest of the patrol. She had been trying to figure out a way to get them out of SunClan and meet back up with Duskslayer in the regime, but getting all of them out unnoticed was impossible. So she waited, and now the opportunityT had presented itself. With the Summer Solstice festival coming up, they had been allowed to serve as Rays to the regime and once they were out of the clutches of SunClan there wouldn't be any forcing them back if they didn't want to go. Soaringlight, Darksonata, and Bravewolf had been allowed to go as well but would need to come back to SunClan daily since they were important to running SunClan.
Southpaw looked at the entrance of the tunnel with disdain "I thought you said we were going somewhere magical? Dirt isn't magical, even if it does change your pelt color"
“No but it can be used to make a hundred different things.” Mercenary Superior Symphorosa spoke lightly as she stepped out of the tunnels. The smoke colored tabby looked over the group of cats that approached the tunnels. She knew vaguely of them, having heard about them occasionally from Dusky, one of her privates. Now apparently the rest of the family was at least visiting, if not staying permanently. Regardless she did not plan on giving any sort of permanent permission to stay until Shule was rescued. Or worst case scenario Shule was killed and Symphorosa was leading the Regime. Either way she planned to let them know their visit would only be a visit until a higher authority could make a ruling.

Unseenlights steps paused, as the voice of Symphorosa reached her ears. Her bright blue eyes staring blankly ahead, though her tufted ear swiveled towards her " Mercenary Superior Symphorosa" she greeted, not surprised that they hadn't even made it into the tunnels without being stopped. Smelling SunClan on your territory would be enough to make any cat nervous "I brought my children to see their father" there was more to it than that, but it was something she would rather discuss privately with just her and Duskslayer
Southpaw didn't quite understand. Dirt was dirt, but she held her tongue while the older cats spoke
His voice was as distinct as a smooth stone among sharp rocks. He inherited the deceivingly sly trickster voice of his family for a soft hearted boy like himself. His paw steps were hardly detectable of moving. He glided over to her so briskly he barely touched the ground. His paw moved over hers to alert her of his presence before nuzzling her into a hug, but his paw pads were rougher than when he was in the Regime before. "It's so good to see you and the kits."
"Dusky!" Allaria purred, padding over to her father's free side and nuzzling his cheek. It very much seemed like a 180 from the last time she had seen him and, for a moment, perhaps Dusky would have believed that his daughter had changed for the better. It didn't last long, however, as she ever so sneakily dug her claws into the top of his paw. Not enough to break skin, but it was certainly uncomfortable. She was still smiling cheerfully as she said, "Care to explain why we all had to come to you instead of the other way around?"

Dancinglight, charged with the responsibility of escorting the rays to the regime, shuffled her paws in the dirt as she tried not to stare at the family reunion. It was heartwarming in a way to see them all together again, but also incredibly awkward for someone who hardly knew them. Flicking her ears, the Janus stepped up to Sympharosa and bowed her head. "I'm sure you're aware of the custom of Rays in SunClan and I assume they'll be welcome here," she said, leveling her amber gaze to the Mercenary Superior.
Dusky's gaze darkened at Allaria's question as he slowly moved a paw over hers. His aura shifting like clouds moving over the sun, "Um..." He could feel a sob in his throat as he met his families gaze, "Huntleigh passed away," His eyes watered as he wiped at his eyes, "My son passed away..." He took a moment, clearing his mind enough to try and return back to the conversation of why he hadn't come back and what Huntleigh had to do with it, "I was ordered to stay here by Commander Shule, but Huntleigh was in charge of my sentencing and... They all left to go fight WinterClan, but Huntleigh didn't come b-" A sob left his throat. He slammed his other paw down like a kit about to have a tantrum, but the force left his paw trembling, "I wasn't there. I wasn't there in his final moments. The tunnel collapsed on him. The snow weighed the ground. And it was on WinterClan's land so no one could go and try to bring him home. I wish he were at least home..."
"Wait... what...?" Allaria's strength was gone in an instant and she ended up leaning forward to rest her head against her father's shoulder seeing as it was preferable to collapsing on the ground.
She and Huntleigh had never seen eye to eye. She thought he was a coward, one who preferred the safety of the Regime over protecting his family alongside her in SunClan. Neither of them got along well with their father when they were young but she felt that he blew it all out of proportion while she had a real reason for her problems. They were like fire and ice, but she wasn't sure which cat was which.
As much as they disagreed, though, it would be a lie to say that she wasn't looking forward to catching up with him during her time as a Ray. She had grown a lot since they last met and no longer held onto animosity the same way she had as a kit. Allaria wanted to make up with him, reach some sort of peace, become friends as she had with the rest of her siblings, but now? Now all the memories she had left of her brother were arguments and insults, few if any positive, and there was nothing she could do to change it.
She opened her mouth to say something to her father but all that came out was a whimper. The dark-furred she-cat buried her face into Dusky's fur and sobbed.

Bravewolf had been quietly watching the encounter when he seemed to stop at his dad's words. Huntleigh. Dead. He felt a pit of dread in his stomach, along with something else, a deep seated anger. Not at his father or the Regime, of course, but at the thought his brother didn't even get the respect of a proper burial. He dug his claws into the ground in what felt like a vain attempt to calm and center himself. It wasn't working, all he wanted to do was turn around, and do whatever it took to go get his brother's body back. "We'll get him home then, somehow." Damek had no idea how to do it, and generally, the young tom could be an anxious mess... but this was important. Too important to just pretend it was all okay.
Dusky held Allaria closed letting the soft heat of their pelts meld together with the ringing silence closing in. There was a weight to the silence, like it wouldn't be hanging there if Huntleigh was still alive. He had always felt that Huntleigh was at least the safest out of all of his kits, but he hadn't been. Glowstar had taught him that chaos could strike at any moment, but it was one of those things that felt like it wouldn't happen to his family. Not in the Regime, the place that felt safe, where the dark was comforting.
"We can try..." Dusky said inhaling a breath to try and at least be strong enough to comfort Allaria more than just touch, "There is something I have to show all of you though. I think I found where Blindfaith went."

Unseenlights leaned into her husbands warmth, taking the moment just to appreciate being together once more. She leaned forward, ready to pull him into a kiss before their daughter interrupted. She took a step back, allowing her children to greet him to, trying not to be selfish and take all of his attention for herself though she longed to. But before she could say anything else, the truth came out... Her son... Their son... was dead.
She had always thought he was safer here than in SunClan, so how was it that he was the one that was dead? Dusky had to be mistaken... after all there was no body, so he could still be out there... At least that is what she wanted to believe, even if all the evidence was to the contrary. Se let her children crowd around him for a moment, before she to pressed her nose to his forehead "I should have been there with you...." her words soft, a barly audible whisper to anyone but Duskslayer
------------------------------ Southpaw chirped, flinging herself onto her father and wrapping her paws around his neck "Daddy!" she replied, not really understanding the seriousness of the conversation. Sure she had heard of Huntleigh, but she had never even met the guy. So the news of his death didn't affect her the way that it had the others. All she knew was that her dad was sad, and now everyone was sad. She raised up, pulling with both paws until she was was looking into his eyes "Daddy don't cry like that or your gonna make mommy cry to" she licked at his cheeks with nervous purr
Unseenlights had voiced what Allaria had been thinking. Like her mother, she had assumed that the Regime was safer than SunClan. It was practically a no-brainer. The Regime had defenses few Clans could rival and a healthy, strong leadership. Those making the big decisions weren't overgrown toddlers like Bloodycrow of broken shells of their former selves like Littlestar. They were the kind of cats you could rely on, the ones you knew would protect you no matter what.
Yet... Huntleigh still died. It didn't make any sense, but Allaria didn't want to dwell on it now. She'd already made a far bigger scene than she wanted to and was embarrassed even though her grief. She pulled away from Duskyslayer and leaned agains the cave wall, taking deep breaths to calm herself down.
"Blindfaith---" She began only to be cut off by Southpaw. She made eye contact with Dusky but did not intervene. Perhaps that conversation was best had later, once the whole family had enough time to mourn...

It was one rollercoaster after another, and Bravewolf looked on the verge of explosion. Whether that was into tears, or a rage, it wasn't entirely sure. But it was pretty obvious to anyone who knew what he was that volatility in this scenario was... not good. The air seemed to shift a few degrees, not enough that one would really notice the warmth beyond perhaps the ground feeling a tad warm to the touch, or attribute to a summer breeze. But his father or maybe Allaria was bound to notice, at some point, the faint flicker of an ember, or hint of a glow within his fur, a telltale hint of him being unable to control his abilities and emotions at this time. He didn't move, just stood there almost as if frozen, chest rising and falling a tad too fast, body tensed up like a compressed spring.
Eastpaw, for his part, didn't seem to notice the problem with Damek, he followed Southpaw, weaving between Dusky's legs. "We could get nuggets!" He suggested, though whether it was because he wanted them, or he knew they made himself feel better, and he assumed they would also help his father was uncertain. Did it even matter, so long as Eastpaw got his nuggies in the end?
"Would you just SHUT UP ABOUT NUGGETS FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE, EASTPAW!??!??!? Our brother is dead, our sister is missing, and that's what you think about?! NUGGETS!"
Ah, looks like Allaria's present stage of grief was anger. She pulled away from Duskslayer and wiped the tears out of her eyes, her back to the whole family. She was just... so over all of these roller coasters. Couldn't she just live a peaceful life with a normal family!? Where they weren't separated by borders, dead, missing or obsessed with some random stupid piece of meat, just for like, one freaking minute?!?!
"..." What to do now? She wasn't ready to apologize and she didn't want to cuddle. Honestly she just wanted to leave, but she didn't know where she would go. Almost everyone she cared about was in the tunnel right now, and she'd done nothing but preach that her family was her home, not a location. She felt trapped.

Unseenlights made her way over to Soaringlight and Bravewolf, letting her fur brush against her children's coats gently "It's a lot to take in..." she murmmered softly, wanting to comfort all of her children and her mate, but there were no words that would make this any easier "The only thing we can do for Huntleigh now is grieve, but if Duskslayer has found Blindfaith there is something we can do for her. Lets bring her home, together" JadieHoneystorm
Southpaw looked at her brother Eastpaw "I think nuggies is a good idea" she looked up at Duskslayer and continued to wipe away his tears "Daddy, will nuggies help you stop crying?"
Breathing in he rubbed the top of Southpaw's head, "It's alright to cry at things like this." He promised her, but was already moving past the tears. Sean had told him that grief came in waves. Some currents of sorrow catching him off guards, others he could feel rising like an incoming tide, predictable. For now he could feel the sadness receive for the time being, bound to wash up to the surface of his mind again. He nuzzled into Light's, "No blaming yourself, I can't stop you if you do, but once you start you'll never stop. Huntleigh loved you with all his heart, you would make his heart ache seeing you believe you could have done more," He promised her tearing up a bit. His head shot up hearing Allaria's outcry, but smiled through the sadness to look at Eastpaw, "I think Huntleigh would want me to cry and feel sorry so maybe just a few more sobs?" He asked.
Recollecting himself Duskslayer turned to Unseenlight's and nodded. Waving his tail he led the way down the tunnel corridors towards a particular den. There were multiple shimmery gem stones laid out onto the floor and below that was a beam of light trickling in from the surface. On the ground were symbols scrawled out above each stone. "So it started one day where I kept seeing weird shimmers catching my eye, but they were rhythmic. It was almost like a cat walking in front of it to stop the light, but there was no cat there. So then I started arranging more stones and the light would flicker in out of the ordinary patterns. So I experimented and I put symbols above the gem stones and soon enough this flicker of light began to talk and form sentences."
The beam of light seemed to shimmer normally, it would move and rotate depending upon the clouds passing by the sun however creating seemingly random dances of movement.
"Okay, but here's the kicker," Dusky said before turning towards the stone, "What is your name?"
Three gem stones flickered, one was of water, the other of wings, and another of a... Worm? That was probably a symbol of a worm.
"Okay I think that was just the lights, but she's not always here. The point is that I asked this and the gemstones that shimmered were the one with an eye crossed out and of the sun. Blindfaith. And anytime I'd ask that question it would repeat, but she's not here. Point being, I think she's in a state of limbo... I'm not positive where, but it's definitely Blindfaith," Dusky said turning back to look at his family.
The walk to Dusky's stones calmed Allaria down just a little bit. Not enough to feel remorseful for her harsh words to her siblings, but enough to interact with the rest of them civilly and respectfully... at least... as civil and respectful as she always was.
"The lights and symbols are pretty and all..." Allaria began, skepticism clear in her tone, "... but I'm very confused on how you managed to link these obscure signs to Blindfaith. Let's say that there really is a message to collect from all of this. If that's the case... a crossed out eye and a sun could mean literally anything. For one, there are many blind cats tied to SunClan... Unseenlights, Mountainsound... and that's assuming a crossed out eye even means blind. It could reflect someone turning a blind eye to something or even ignorance, that's totally SunClan, too."
She paused, sighed, then added, "My point is that I'm not convinced this has anything to do with Blindfaith. All it's doing is getting our hopes up..."
Staying quiet for a moment he looked back at his daughter, "I've never mentioned this to anyone before, but when I got a bit older in SunClan I started seeing this cat that wasn't there. It was faded out, white, it was like my guardian angel. It would guide me into the right direction, never steering me wrong. It guided me to these rocks and when SunClan's camp was under attack it helped me follow my senses to find that secret exit. I get it if it sounds crazy, but I know on an instinctual level that this means something." He paused for a moment before thinking better, "Maybe she wants to talk to you alone. It's worth a try, you can keep your hopes down, wait around, if nothing happens you've lost nothing. If something happens then maybe we have a lead."
