Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Bright eyes and small paws met the dawn with delight, as Sunkit immediately rose with–as her namesake–the sun. Her golden fur shone brightly in the light, a far cry from the weak, sickly kit that had arrived a couple of moons ago in Howlingheart's jaws. She crouched clumsily, wiggling in anticipation, before launching herself onto a mouse that had fallen off the fresh-kill pile with a cry, teeth meeting fur as she wrestled the large prey, almost bigger than her small self. She giggled, before stilling at the looks of the morning patrol, who seemed ready to tell the kit off for messing around with the food and getting it dirty. Right. Warriors just didn't like to have fun. Ever.
With a pout, she found herself trotting around, back to the nursery. Was everyone still asleep? "Come on guys, wake up!" she called out as the other kits practically ignored her, still snoring and sleeping. Ugh. Everyone was just so boring. She wanted to play! Was anyone awake yet?
There was an enchanting quality to lurking under the velvet cover of night, with all the eyes of the ancestors peeking out like some great thousand-eyed beast, one that crouched over the world when the sun went to sleep and protected it from the horrors at bay. That was what Ghostkit liked about staying awake. The clan would bed down, the kits would scurry to the safety of the nursery for their bedtime stories and cuddles, and the symphony of the crickets and other evening critters would begin to play. All the conditions for dreaming up fantastical dreams were ripe and at their paws, but sometimes, even when dawn split the twilight in half, Ghostkit found difficulty sleeping with all the morning commotion.
This morning was no different. They groaned at the sound of Sunkit's too-bright voice, as if it embodied the vibrance of the sun itself. "Can't ya see people er tryna sleep 'n here?" Ghostkit's typical broken grouch came, a dark amber glare being shot at the offender.

Sunkit was undeterred from her excitement. Seriously, and they called themselves future warriors? "You've had plenty of time to sleep!" the kitten replied, as she immediately bounded towards the voice of Ghostkit, peering curiously at the other kitten, "it's morning, which which means you're supposed to get up! How else are you going to be a warrior anyway? One day you'll have to wake up for dawn patrols and all that, which means you might as well get ready for it."
The kitten didn't seem to be aware of Ghostkit's annoyance, or perhaps she was and simply chose to ignore it. Instead of leaving them alone, Sunkit did the opposite, bouncing over and plopping down next to them with a bright smile. "Come on Ghostkit, don't you want to see the sunrise?"
They swung an arm across their face, as if by blocking out the light they might also block out Sunkit herself, but when she plopped down beside Thunderstorm's nest, Ghostkit knew hope was futile. They'd have to be mean instead. "The sunrise sucks," her denmte snarled, flashing sharp teeth at Sunkit and curling more tightly into a ball. "An' b'sides, I can jus be a Garden Keeper n not hafta work ever." That's what Garden Keepers did, right? All they seemed to do was laze around all day, sometimes leaving camp to 'tend to the gardens,' but Ghostkit was convinced it was all just a front for them to go somewhere else and laze around there.

Sunkit rolled her eyes. "But don't you want to learn how to hunt?" she pointed out, "or fight enemies? Or you know, discover what's out there? Beyond the clan borders?" She was babbling on without a care for Ghostkit's disdain. Frankly, she didn't even know what garden keepers were, but hey, Howlingheart was one of them, and he was practically his adopted father now that Bermondsey was gone. As much as she missed the other cat, she was certainly used to guardian figures disappearing by now. Attachments weren't her strong suite anyway.
"Come on Ghostkit," she poked his side with a paw, "let's sneak out or play a game or something! If not I'm going to have to annoy you with a hundred different stories papa used to tell me about the city. I mean, I'm a great storyteller, so it's probably a privilege for you anyway."
Ghostkit groaned, an ear flicking. "Don'tcha ever shut up, squeaky? Yes jus' gonna be like everyone else 'n do what they do? Hunt, fight, repeat, till ya die?" That didn't sound very appealing to the kitten, not when the alternative was to reap the benefits of the clan's hard work and just cuddle all day with Momma Thunderstorm. Still, Sunkit's remarks reminded them of the stories she would tell them about her past in the ancient WaterClan 'n how she came to SummerClan instead, and maybe that was just enough to thaw Ghostkit's frosty demeanor, enough to ask: "Where would we even go?"

She huffed at his words. "Grumpy," she pouted. She had to admit, his words were a bit...pessimistic, and she wasn't even sure she would stay in SummerClan forever. At the end of the day, she missed her brother, and she missed her papa. Perhaps one day she'd go out and look for them. Perhaps she'd stay. Perhaps she'd be a warrior, one of the greatest warriors of her clan. Perhaps she'd leave, travel the world like they were supposed to, with Aleksy and papa.
"How about the beach?" she suggested, "I heard about it the other day, from another warrior! They say you can look out and it's only water! Isn't that cool? Come on! Let's go!"
