We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.

Agamede basically did her mother's job. Honestly, the only reason at this point that Senescence still had her title was the fact that Agamede would rather have let her mother keep the title, despite the fact she was almost never around the League.
The she-cat floated around like a ghost, the perfect picture of everything Internal Affairs could want. She was barely a blip on anyone's radar beyond that of those already in the district. A shadow that was there one moment, and gone the first. Every meeting with her was like the first time all over again, too unmemorable to commit to the mind, so they forgot her the moment she was out of sight.
Today, by chance, was a meeting with a particular Warden she couldn't really recall interacting with before. The silvery-white lynx point practically appeared out of nowhere by his side, a gentle smile on her face and a mysterious sort of gleam to her periwinkle gaze that enchanted others before they even knew what had befallen them.

Regulus padded along as he usually did one moment alone but the next thing he knew a silvery-white lynx point was walking alongside him. A gentle smile was on her face and the warden returned it with a respective nod. "You're Agamede, correct? I don't think I have had the pleasure to meet you yet. What do I owe the pleasure today?" The dark tom was quiet curious why she wanted to reach out and talk to him now. Maybe she was just busy before? Or perhaps she was bored? Either way she was drawing his curiosity and he wanted to get to know this fellow League member
SO apparently the threads I needed to reply to were PI, not RR. xD }}
The she-cat's mouth curled up in a ghostly smile, the she-cat walking silently in perfect step with him as she turned her head to answer. "Curiosity, perhaps? It's not many among the League who can seem to remember my name or appearance for long. I wonder who told you of me." She seemed more vision than corporeal, as if she might simply dissolve into mist if one blew too hard, leaving the tom to wonder if she was real at all. But as it was, she did, in fact, exist, as evidenced by the faintest brush of her soft fur against his, maybe a tad too close than a normal League member would dare.

"I have my resources," he replied back rather mysteriously. He noted just how close she was but rather than discourage her he allowed her to stay close. It was rather interesting how close she was to him like it wasn't a big thing. Most cats weren't brave nor brazen enough to do something like this. "But I digress, what were you curious about if I may ask?" His green eyes found her own periwinkle ones determined to keep eye contact with the she cat. Would she keep it or break it? Just how brave was this cat?

Agamede had no reason to fear. The last time she'd been afraid, Senescence had come to kill the very thing that caused her that fear, and with Sen as her parent, near or far, she never felt the need to worry. She kept his gaze with calm ease, a whisper of a laugh threading around them as she considered his question. "Why wouldn't anyone want to know their superiors?" She countered his claim with a question of her own. "After all, isn't curiosity the nature of felines?"
Post by ashestoashes on Jun 22, 2021 21:50:49 GMT -5
This actually made Regulus chuckle, "You aren't wrong. Cats by nature are rather curious about everything around them. That is just how we are... how we think...how we function. Curiosity killed that cat you know, however it was satisfaction that brough him back. Or so I have heard anyway, but I have yet to meet a cat that came back from the dead. Anyway I think it's only fair to find yourself curious about me. I find you rather curious myself. Perhaps all I know is of your name...or maybe I know a little more than that. Or a little less. Who knows." Regulus didn't honestly know much about Agamede but found their small banter to be rather amusing and didn't want to break it.
"Leaders do it all the time, so it seems more likely than you'd expect." Agamede answered with a light laugh. "As for what you know about me, we'll have to see if all you've heard is accurate, won't we?" She gave him a slight wink as she continued to be just a tad too close to him. "And since we're both so curious, perhaps we should go on a little adventure? No better way to get to know someone."

"An adventure, eh? What kind of an adventure were you thinking?" Regulus gave a mischievous look to the mysterious she cat who continued to walk close to his side. Sure he maybe a Nemesis and lead The League but that doesn't mean he was such an old stick in the mud he didn't know how to have fun...or how to vanish for a short time. As a matter of fact perhaps this was a good time for a break from his duties.

"Well that would ruin the point of it being an adventure, wouldn't it?" Agamede countered with a glint to her gaze. "What's the fun in an adventure if you know all of it's twists and turns ahead of time?" She was happy to lead him away to who knew where for a time, she disappeared and showed up again just in time often enough herself. The League would survive in their absence, and if it didn't... well, then that sounded like a them problem, if they couldn't hold it together for half a day.

"You have a good point... well you have my full interest. Lead the way to this adventurous path and I shall follow you ready to see what surprises are up ahead. I am in need of some thrills...some excitement anyway." This mysterious cat that seemed to disappear only to reappear when she desired had enchanted the Nemesis.

Did Agamede actually have a plan? Debatable, at best. Most likely, no. But, that's what made it fun. She'd followed along on some adventures with Senescence before, simply going wherever their paws took them, getting into all kinds of trouble. Why not do so now? Which, one could argue, was a loose plan all it's own, just barely.
Her eyes twinkled as she grabbed Regulus' paw, dragging the tom towards their adventure. Which, in this case, was looking for some fun amongst the twolegs or the like.

Regulus allowed Agamede to drag him towards the unknown. Well slight unknown anyway, he recognized some of the scenery as they travelled but not all of it interestingly enough. Hmm perhaps he didn't come this way a lot? In any case he knew the Nemesis found that this was actually kind of fun. Or well fun at least by being dragged around which he did not let others typically do. That said a lot about how things were going with himself and Agamede. He did not question where she was taking him letting her take full control of the situation.
The first place she took him to wasn't all that interesting. She slipped inside a building, the cement ground inclining slightly up as they walked. Then it leveled out, then incline again. There were monsters parked along the way, lights overhead, but otherwise impossible to tell where they were, there was only walking. At least, until she pulled him past a doorway and up some stairs, through another door, and out into the world, wind ruffling their fur as they came out onto the roof of the car park. A few steps and they were looking over what felt like the whole city, the noises distant, the creatures below like specs of dust, even the monsters seemed nothing by comparison.

Now this was something else. Regulus truly felt like he was a king on top of the world looking down at everything below. If the monsters looked that small from so high up he wondered how cats would look from up here? Probably nothing at all unless they were grouped together and even then that would take a lot of cats to notice something like that.
However...that was not what he was noticing now...
The Nemesis went to turn to Agamede to thank her for taking him to such an amazing place with a spectacular view. What he saw was equally just as amazing if not even stunning. From up here she looked liked a mysterious angel that had fallen beside him. A cat who brought thrill as well as imagination...adventure. Agamede once again seemed to have Regulus in her paws but he didn't mind it in the least.
She peered at the view for a long moment before she felt Regulus' gaze on her. Agamede noticed it in an instant, after all, there were fewer cats who took a second look at her, and even fewer still who actually saw her. So when the Nemesis saw her, one was bound to pick up on it. After a few heartbeats, she turned her head to look at him, studying him as much as he was studying her, that ethereal smile drifting across her features like a ghost. "Like what you see, Regulus?"

"As a matter of fact I do like what I'm seeing...what about say you my dear?" The Nemesis carefully got closer to her his, eyes looking directly into hers as he spoke with curiosity...with intensity.

The she-cat peered at Regulus quietly without saying anything for a long moment, her eyes unreadable despite the serene expression on her face. Eventually though, she let out a soft, tittering laugh as she slowly looked him up and down, more pointedly this time. "It'd be a lie to say no. I find you a rather curious sort, Nemesis. I think we'll find ourselves on many more adventures together in the future." Agamede mused cryptically.

The dark tom gave a small chuckle, "I'm glad to hear that... to new adventures." He put his dark paw ontop of Agamede's feeling just how soft her fur was against his own. Her paw was slightly smaller than his but so much warmer than he could have guessed...but in a good way. It was odd but he was happy.

Moons went by, and eventually, they were mates. Agamede sometimes wondered how things had gone so smoothly. She'd gotten exactly as she desired. Assassin, and mate to the Nemesis. All the power and none of the responsibility of actual leadership. Well, she saw it as having power. After all, what would Regulus do that she clearly did not want?
She walked at his side, her fur brushing up against his as they strode through the League's 'new' territory. Agamede could remember first coming to this mansion. After all, she'd been born on the Isle during Vera's reign.
