He giggled when the cat called him that and finished up his meal, sprawling across the ground with a full belly. He thought about the cats question for a few minutes. Would anyone miss him if he was gone? Would they even look for him? His doubts made him uneasy and that squirrel was suddenly not feeling so good. "Not a chance. You're stuck with me, old man." He'd stick close to Thorn for a while. He felt more at home with the other cat than he ever felt in the summerclan camp. For the first time in a long time he drifted off to sleep feeling happier than He'd felt in a long time.
TIMESKIP
It had been three days since he reported back to camp. So far, no one had found him. He wondered if they noticed. It made him angry. Angry at his clan. His clanmates. His mentor. His littermates. But at least he wasn't alone. Thorn was good company even if he could be grumpy sometimes. Natherpaw strode along the creekside looking for prey or maybe something nice to roll in.
thorn was happy to have the company that netherpaw gave. it had been a while since he had really talked to anyone,he thought about joining a clan a copple times but didn't like the thought of following someone else rules. he was content with nether here with him even if he was sometimes annoying thorn would kill if anybody tried to take nether from him...he couldnt loose anyone else. over the days he successfully taught nether to swim, although it was hard because netherpaw was acting like a princes and being difficult. thorn lay in the sun warming up as he watched netherpaw mess around with some sticks. he ended up falling sleep but not till he heard a lot of yelling
It was purely accidental that Firepaw ran across Netherpaw and...another scent, something new and wild and foreign. The sound of trickling water covered the crunch of leaves underfoot, allowing him to sneak up through the bushes to get a better view of what was going on, but after seeing the two act like old friends, with his denmate romping around with some rogue, he couldn't contain himself.
"Hey!" Pelt bristling, he revealed himself. "What do you think you're doing all the way out here? And who's he?"

Netherpaw spun around to see Firepaw, another apprentice of Summerclan. The fur along his hackles stood on end and he arched his back. "What are you doing all the way out here? You're not my mentor or my mother- get lost." The Tom hissed. He was usually one of the nicest and most laid back cats you could find but he was angry. Frustrated. And hurt. His heart felt like a thorn has pierced through it and it felt as though he would never be able to remove it.
"I'm warning you, I don't want anything to do with you or Summerclan anymore!"
Taken aback, he faltered, but Firepaw was nothing if not determined. He wasn't about to stand down so easily. "It's a good thing I'm not your mother," he sneered. "I wouldn't want such a pathetic son like you, running away like some baby!" His words were cruel and he knew it, but the warrior code was in his blood, something he was taught to defend and enforce. He advanced towards Netherpaw.

An angry yowl escaped Netherpaw and the big apprentice charged headfirst. He would show him that he wasn't playing around and was not about to back down. He meant business and he would give Firepaw a few warning blows to scare him off and prove it. He raised a paw and swiped at the cat's ear, claws out. If he sheathed his claws then nobody would take him seriously. A scratched ear would string but it wouldn't kill him.
Netherpaw's size should have daunted him. He should have diffused the situation, erred to his better judgment, but Firepaw---short stature, lanky limbs, and all---only raised his chin defiantly, meeting Netherpaw head on. As claws pierced his skin, he reeled away and glanced at the crimson seeping into his silver fur, then looked back at his clanmate as if in disbelief. Who did this kid think he was?! Firepaw unsheathed his own claws and charged forward again, aiming to swipe them against Netherpaw's muzzle.

Claws connecting with his muzzle did little to deter him in his rage. "What do you want from me?!" He growled deep in his chest, circling Firepaw. Why did he even care? Nobody else did. Firepaw happened across Netherpaw and had no real stakes in it. Was it because he was viewing him as a rogue now, an outsider? He couldn't say for certain but he lashed out with a paw, not making contact but hoping maybe the apprentice would back down and shove off.
Thorn stood up quickly and jumped in front or netherpaw hissing hackles raised. he didn't know what this was or what was going on but he would do anything to stop netherpaw from being taken from him. he spun around to see a bigger cat probably a warrior. he unsheathed his claws and swatted at the bigger cat slashing him in the face. the bigger cat jumped on top of thorn they were both of the ground fighting to the death. Thorn flipped the bigger under him,he slashed the bigger cats throat cutting it open. Thorn layed on the ground a bit tired his ear bleeding because the warrior managed to take a small chunk out of his ear. he quickly got up and ran over to nether trying to swat and the other apprentice but...

Netherpaw had lunged and gone in to swipe at Firepaw's side when the sounds of another scuffle distracted him. The distraction was enough for his paws to connect and for those long needle sharp claws to go much deeper than he had anticipated, taking a good chunk of fur and flesh with it. He panicked at how badly the wound was and staggered back, yellow eyes wide with horror. In the corner of his eye he noticed Thorn headed in their direction and he turned to see a Summerclan warrior laying dead in the dirt. Thorn was going to kill Firepaw too. Nobody was supposed to die.
"No!" He shouted loudly, jumping in between the two. Pain crashed over him and he tumbled to the ground, both eyes squeezed shut. After a moment Netherpaw tried to get his bearings and open his eyes but only one of them opened to see Thorn standing over him. He moved to put himself between his clanmate and Thorn.
"That's enough!" He shouted. His previous anger dissipated altogether and now all he felt was grief. How could Thorn do something like that?
Firepaw dodged and parried his clanmate's blow as best as he could, managing to land a few good blows too, but he was also distracted by the events unfolding nearby, enough so that he left himself vulnerable. Pain flashed through his body and he let out a screech, falling to the ground and curling himself protectively around his now exposed and gaping wound, only to look up helplessly as Thorn charged at him. He sent a prayer up to whatever gods were listening and braced himself for his bitter end...
Only for it to never come.
Standing over him and blocking him from attack, it was clear Netherpaw was in rough condition. Firepaw glared at Thorn, chagrined. "He's a murderer," he spat. "How could you bring someone like him here? He's going to kill us too!" If it came down to it, if Thorn really chose to eliminate them both, it wouldn't matter that there was two of them. The sheer difference of skill was obvious.
Thorn was standing over nether with tears in his eyes. he couldn't believe what he just did he was so shock and mad and scared. so many emotion rushing through him at once...he didn't know what to do so he went into a tail spin and backed up hitting a tree. he stopped and stood there for a while. eventually he walked over to netherpaw to check if he was ok. but netherpaw looked like he was going to kill thorn. he had never seen netherpaw this upset

Guilt washed over him at Firepaw's words. He was right. He knew he was right and that's what made it hurt to much. He looked down at the injured apprentice, his good eye sweeping over the injury. He needed medical attention and fast. Netherpaw needed to get him out of there no matter what the other cat thought of him or how much he hated him. There would certainly be consequences and he would pay them when the time came.
Turning his attention back to Thorn, he stood his ground. "How could you kill a cat so easily? Like they were nothing? I looked up to you. I cared about you." He choked back an angry outburst. Thorn had almost felt like a parent in so many ways. "He is my clanmate and you were just going to kill him without a second thought." The horror was apparent. He had been raised with the warrior code. Even if he made poor decisions sometimes he could not help but default to it. This was an unreasonable and unnecessary killing.
holding back even more tears he stayed silent for a few seconds. netherpaws word's stung...he had lost his entire family because of some dog,he watched them all die in front of him. netherpaw was the only thing he had. "fine...don't forgive me...but don't expect me to save you if you drown or at all ever again" he said bitterly. he turned around and ran into the forest disappearing in the thick brush and trees.
The commotion drew another entity to the scene. The last thing Devotedcrow expected to run into was one of his warriors, dead; his son, injured; and another apprentice, roughed up and staring distantly at the shaking ferns, as if...someone had just stepped through them? The tang of rogue scent was strong on the air, but that wasn't unusual out here, so close to the border he himself used to sit at before joining SummerClan.
Rushing forward he inspected Firepaw's wound, relieved to find it wasn't deadly and that the bengal had enough spunk left in him for dramatics, wailing aloud now that his father was here. The Deputy turned to Netherpaw, the only one currently on his paws and sane enough (or alive enough) to answer him. "Once we get back to camp, I'll send someone to bring him back to camp," he gestured at the fallen warrior, "but we need to get Firepaw to Graythorn as soon as possible. On the way back you're going to explain what happened here. Understand?" He lifted Firepaw onto his back and indicated for Netherpaw to lead the way home.

Netherpaw watched Thorn go with a sad look in his eyes. He hadn't known the rogue very long but it was long enough. He was roused from his thoughts and his grief by another cat. He felt too hollow and empty inside to be scared of the deputy approaching him. He deserved whatever punishment they gave him.
"I understand." The now one-eyed apprentice managed to say. The bleeding seemed to have stopped but there was the taste of blood in his mouth and his face was covered in blood. They walked in silence for a short while, but Netherpaw knew he couldn't avoid explaining forever. "There was a rogue. We were friends. Firepaw and I got into a fight over it. The rogue he.... he killed our clanmate while we were fighting. I didn't even know he was there. I was the one who hurt Firepaw. Nobody was supposed to get hurt." It was a brief version of events and he wasn't sure how much sense he made, if any at all. It didn't matter. They were probably going to kick him out anyways.
Thorn was sitting in a tree...he was numb like some sort of switch was flipped,he couldn't feel anything and he didn't care about anything anymore. "They won't get away with this...they WILL pay" he thought to himself. he was a very well known rough so he decided to get some "help" from a couple other roughs. he would make that whole clan pay for what they did...what they took.
Devotedcrow listened to Netherpaw recount the events without a word, remaining silent until the young tom finished speaking. Normally, friendships outside of the clan wasn't frowned upon, but the more pressing matter was how an apprentice, one of their own, had gone unnoticed for several days. It was a feeling he knew all too well, one that left a bitter taste in his mouth. "I see," he finally said. Glancing at the apprentice, he could tell he was dealing with his own internal conflict. "Your friendship with this rogue isn't what concerns me, Netherpaw. It's okay to have friends... as long as your loyalty stays with SummerClan. I believe you've proved today that it does. That being said, this rogue killed a warrior of our clan and could have killed you and Firepaw as well. We have to report it to Ratstar."
Camp loomed in sight now, the floral aroma of the blossoms woven in their camp barriers engulfing the trio. "I will speak with Ratstar tonight while you and Firepaw rest and have Graythorn check you over," he told Netherpaw, before ducking into camp and approaching Graythorn's den despite Firepaw claiming he was fine and could definitely totally go right back to training as usual.

Netherpaw hung his head with shame and did not physically acknowledge any of Devotedcrows words. But it stuck in his heart. He knew the older cat was right with everything he said. He followed slowly into Greaythorn's den and sat quietly in the corner, waiting for Firepaw to be treated first. He wondered how bad his eye was, he still could not see out of it. He decided to lay down and wait, exhaustion pulling him into a deep and uneasy sleep.
Thorn was buys gathering rouges from all over the place , some from the city some from the forest and even a couple from around the two legs places. they started leaving bones around the entrance but he didnt think it was enough...he needed to go bigger.
