Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
He'd waited until the feast and fanfare dwindled down before he approached NightClan's new deputy, his very own former guard member. They'd never spent much time together apart from assignments that required more than one of them, but now Larkspur was moving from a place of doing the protecting to one of being protected, she being among the four cats whose safety he was responsible for. It was about time for them to get to know each other more intimately than what business called for. Phantomfox's ashen eyes rested on her blue gaze, allowing for his praise to sink in before continuing to ask, "Care to take your first patrol as the NightClan deputy?"
Larkspur was still overwhelmed by everything that had happened in the last few days, her promotion, the missing cats, and now the idea of a lost fox on their territory. She was filled with gratitude for being chosen, but at the same time, it was a lot to take in at once. She'd been resting when Phantomfox found her, and her eyes found his easily. She gives a smile, dipping her head in thanks. At his question, she takes a moment to stand. "Yes," she purrs, eyes determined. Larkspur had always wanted what was best for her clan, and now she felt like she was in a place to make it happen. "I'm ready whenever you are."
He could see the unrest buried under the exhilaration, almost as if it reflected his own when he'd taken over NightClan after Flamingstar. To be tasked with protecting a whole clan from hidden threats, it was a lot to shoulder, but after working with Larkspur and seeing her dedication to the clan and Aspenstar, Phantomfox was certain she could handle it. He returned her smile---albeit his was more a slight upturn of his maw. "Then let's get going. We should patrol the entire perimeter of the territory and see if there are any trails going in or out," he suggested, leading the way out of the cenote.
ah yes the dedication to Aspenstar not the hopeless pining
Larkspur nods once, stretching out smoothly, her claws reaching outwards. It was interesting to see the duo side by side. Larkspur was actually quite small for an adult cat, most of her form filled out by the fluff of her coat. If she had been born short-haired, she’d be extremely non-threatening, likely mistaken for an apprentice. Larkspur’s blue eyes scan the camp for anything seemingly out of place, or anyone for that matter, pleased when all seems in order and well. The black she-cat didn’t know Phantomfox all too well outside of business, though she hoped the two would get along fine. She knew deep down, he was also extremely dedicated to the protection of Aspenstar. As they walk, her ears are constantly listening for sounds, her being more on edge than would be normal.
