Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Aspenstar and Phantomfox had been planning this for the last few nights. These were all green apprentices; she was quite confident that not a single one of them had been an apprentice before the latest promotion. That meant that she wanted to do this right. The cats would play two games that night, one hosted by the leader, and the other the loyal guard. Now, this wasn't usual, really. Normally there was only one game, but whenever the apprentices were mostly wet behind the ears, having a logic game and a physical game often proved helpful. The puzzle got them to team build, and the physical challenge would give them an idea of Phantomfox's expectations of apprentice physicality. That would be helpful information for the young cats; after all, it was the Loyal Guard Captain that would eventually determine whether or not they passed the fighting portion of the apprentice trials.
She glanced at Phantomfox one more time before turning to the group with a nod. "Good evening, everyone," she meowed, her tail flicking across the stone under her. "As many of you know, tonight is a critical point in your training. At this point, you and your partner have worked together for a month. Hopefully, this means that you got a chance to test your strengths and weaknesses. Tonight will be your first opportunity to show your advancement to your peers." Aspenstar could remember her first games; she had been so excited to prove herself to the group. She hoped that the new apprentices would feel the same way.
"We have two tasks for you tonight. You must complete each task to the fullest of your ability. Phantomfox will lead you through a physical drill, and my drill will force you to work together to strategize a solution to a problem. Phantomfox and I will be keeping an eye on which teams are most successful in our respective tasks. At the conclusion of both halves, the two of us will confer to decide which apprentice group should be crowned top pair for this period. Does anyone have questions?

Puddlepaw yawned softly, blinking sleep from his eyes. When the games were called, he'd been taking a nap, completely spacing the fact that these were tonight. He really didn't care to be here, to be honest. He already knew he was going to lose, and he was depressed to be alone. He missed his brothers immensely.
Ceruleanpaw stands beside Skunkpaw, an awkward distance between them. He hadn't really talked to his partner since the discovery of his father, so he wondered how today would go. Probably not great. hopefully everyone else was just as unprepared as they were.
Berrypaw shifted her weight, letting her gaze move between the other apprentices. This was going to be interesting. She supposed she should have been more... impacted by the circumstances that led she and her partner for being woefully unprepared, but looking around, she wondered if she really was even any worse than the rest of the pairs.
Skunkpaw glanced over to his brother. "You'll do great," he meowed softly, his voice making it clear that he, too, missed having the tom around more often. Ceruleanpaw was... something, and Skunkpaw sort of craved the simplicity of who was going to be his original pair. He then looked to Ceruleanpaw. "Ready?"
