Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Lynxfreeze let out a yawn. She wasn't used to being awake during the day, and she definitely could tell. After all, exhaustion lingered with every step, demanding that she take a nap. A nap, though, would ruin all of her fun! She'd been chronically bored since Pinesimmer got... every leg broken into weird angles, and no one in NightClan seemed to catch her attention for very long. She supposed it wasn't necessarily their fault, really; they were either too smart to play into her games or to boring to make the game worth playing. That's why she had set out to greener pastures that day, or, well, wheatier pastures, maybe? After all, she'd found herself in DayClan, the clan that she assumed would be her best bet at finding somone niave enough to play.
The bob-tailed cat tilted her head slightly as she looked across the border. She was relatively certain that there was an open border policy, and that she could have strutted over the border with little to no consequence. That, though, she figured would be a little rude. Normally, that wouldn't concern her much; it was part of the fun. But she figured that it was not a good way to make friends, at least not really.
Which meant she was stuck here until someone padded up. Now, waiting wasn't necessarily her forte, and actually, she quite resented it. Sometimes, though, you just didn't have a choice. This felt like one of those times. Shifting into a seated position, she let out another yawn, hoping she wouldn't be alone for too much longer.
"Oh hi there!" It didn't take long for Lynxfreeze's presence to catch the eye of a DayClan cat. A simple-looking tortoiseshell she-cat with sunny hazel eyes approached Lynxfreeze with a bit of a spring to her step and an effortless smile that was contagious, "It's not often we get visitors from NightClan! What brings you here? Did you need something or did you just wanna hang out?"
Yuccablossom was exactly the type of cat that Lynxfreeze was looking for. Trusting to a fault, she assumed the best in everyone she met, even when proven otherwise over and over again. Forgiveness wasn't a choice for her. It was the truth she lived by, never holding grudges, never judging others for the terrible things they may have done in the past. In other words, she was about as easy to manipulate as they come.
These cats were an enigma to her. There she was, standing on a border, borderline intruding on their territory, and the other cat wanted to know if she wanted to hang out . It was almost comical to her how fast her plan was already working out just the way she intended it to. Oh, DayClan, never change.
"I don't need anything in particular. I was just wandering around, and figured I'd drop by. I heard once that DayClan liked an occasional visitor, and between you and me, I really needed to spice things up. My daily routine was getting a little drab," she meowed wtih a wink. Upon the surface, you'd expect nothing was wrong with Lynxfreeze. A charasmatic charmer when not directly being rude, it would be hard to guess that she was the way she was, at least at first. "I'm Lynxfreeze. And you are, my dear?" She'd remembered the last time she called someone my dear a little less than fondly, but it had been a quirk she had developed young. Hopefully the other cat wouldn't get weird about it, but if she was, the bob-tailed she-cat suppposed she could deal with it.
"Oh sounds fun! I can show you around, no problem," Yuccablossom purred, padding across the border to the NightClan side so she could get a better look at her newfound friend, "My name is Yuccablossom. I'm a DayClan cat, as you assumed, I'm sure, but I was born and raised in WaterClan. I lived in Primal Instinct for awhile after the Survival Clans' fall, then in SwiftClan for a hot minute, before finally settling in here. So I'm pretty well-traveled and have a lot of fun stories to tell you if you're bored!"
It seconds the tortoiseshell she-cat was well beyond Lynxfreeze's personal space and gave her an affectionate nudge, he cheek against the NightClan Warrior's shoulder, "Come on, I'll take you anywhere you want, do anything you want to do, within reason, of course."
"That would be lovely," she meowed, her frosty blue eyes focused intently on the other. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Yuccablossom. I like your name." Lynxfreeze gave the compliment easily, her tail flicking. "I wish I was as well-traveled as you. Unfortunately, I've only made it around the NightClan territory, well, and now DayClan." To those that knew her, the innocent act was probably pretty sickening. But, what could she say ? A little acting was fun here and there.
"What's the best thing to do in the territory?" she then asked, a question that alowed control to temporarily be in Yuccablossom's hand, if that was something that Yuccablossom was worried about. Lynxfreeze had a feeling that she wasn't, but it was good to cover all of one's bases.
"Hmmm..." Yuccablossom looked deep in thought, her eyes focusing nowhere in particular for a few moments as she thought of all her favorite places in DayClan. She took far longer than she needed to given that the answer was so obvious, but she just wanted to make sure that she wasn't missing anything before she committed to it, "My favorite thing to do is eat, so we'll go to the koi pond! This time of year is the best time to hunt them since they're spawning."
If she noticed that Lynxfreeze was being a little less then genuine, she certainly didn't comment on it, instead nudging her again before taking off in the direction of the koi pond, "Also, thank you for the compliment, I think your name is really pretty too! Very mysterious. I've never seen a wild lynx before but I know they are around. Have you ever seen one?"
