Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. "I expected some actual resistance. When the first Heda ran this place I would not have gotten this far into the territory, and that cat would usually try to kill me." It was a partial truth. He never really paid attention back when Octavia was around. He had more pressing issues with his personal life back then that overruled the group every now and then.
“I mean. All the other cats would probably still try to do that... but I’m not like them I guess.” Kenna mewed in return with a small shrug of her shoulders. “Maybe that’s the difference.”
Absum Lux did have its variety, but they all joined together for protection. Kenna not chasing him or killing him violated the simple principle of the group: safety in numbers. "You're not like them? How can I be so sure? You're doing this for some other reason."
“Maybe my own amusement. I grow quite bored sitting in that crumbling mess of a den. No one there seems to like me.” Even though what she was saying was a bit sad, she still held a faint smile upon her lips.
"That's how it always was here. No one liked you until the needed you." His voice caught in his throat. "Or until someone liked you a little bit too much. Either way, it never worked out well for me. You'd be wise to keep your distance."
