Bravepaw watched the interaction in silence, not really offering anything, though he brushed his side against Blindfaith. "I'll keep you safe too." He promised, "Follow Soaringpaw's trail, and I'll be right behind to make sure you both get out of this alright." If something happened, he trusted Darkpaw to keep Soaringpaw safe, and he could watch out for Blindfaith. Faith

Unseenlights watched the exchange between Duskslayer and Soaringpaw, this was something that the two of them were going to have to sort through as much as it broke her heart. The long furred she-cat took a step after Soaringpaw having to stop herself from following after. What she needed right now was space, even though it was killing her to hear their daughter walking away from them.
Instead she turned to duskslayer, walking at his side as the went to the sidelines "She doesn't hate you...." her voice was soft, seeing the pain written all over his face was breaking her heart "not truely... All we can do now is give her support and continue trying to guide her, but we can't make the choices for her" she licked his cheek "Its always harder to stand by watch when we think they are making a mistake" Faith
------------------------> Darkpaw padded after Soaringpaw even as she went to get in line with the other she-cats. His sister was upset and the idea of letting her out of his eyesight only upsetting him further. He hovered close to the two sister, sending harsh glares and any of the she-cats that dared to give him funny looks for being there
"You're missing my point entirely, just like you always do..." Soaringpaw growled as Duskslayer began to walk away. She was so angry now that she was almost hushed. The dark-furred apprentice brushed up against Blindfaiths' shoulder to help guide her to the sidelines but also because she needed the support. Their father was out of earshot now but, even though she knew it, she quietly added, "... Don't play the victim to circumstances you created."
At the starting point now, she turned to Blindfaith and for the first time felt a wave of guilt wash over her. She'd done to her sister what Duskslayer had done to them when they were kits, put her in a position of an impossible choice, on a smaller scale, of course, "It's not too late to turn back. I won't hold it against you... I-I'm sorry." Faith

"She-cats! On your mark... Get set..." Bloodystar's voice rang out loud and clear among the assembled cats, "... GO!"

Her daughter's words fell on deaf ears, and every effort to get her to her feet resulting in Tinymutiny collapsing back to the ground once more into a heap of fur and bones "Oakshade..." she still sometimes talked to him like he was there sometimes "I should have fought harder to bring your body back. Im sorry I wasn't strong enough for you, for our kits. Oakshade... If you can hear please... I need to see you, to hear your voice" Tinymutinys voice devolving into whimpers "you should be here with me... its out anniversary..."
Nocturnepaw ran up to join Bravepaw, only to stop short, once he saw the tom with his family. The two had grown close in the last week or so but Nocturnepaw wasn't sure if he was ready for a 'Meet The Parents' situation, he didn't even want to run in this event but seeing Bravepaw getting ready to line up made his heart stop and his mouth dry up. Where they going to run? Should he? Swallowing his doubt he carefully padded up yo the cinnamon tabby, not wanting to intrude.
"Are you sure you're up for this? You're terrible at tag." He chuckled trying to down play his anxiety with a joke. Honeystorm
"I literally called myself evil, how much less of a victim can I sound?" Duskslayer asked to himself in confusion at his daughters reply.
"Oh, thank-you Lights," Duskslayer purred, feeling touched by her gesture. He leaned his head into hers lightly before moving back, "but I know she doesn't hate me, I just noticed that she didn't like happy go lucky me, so I tried to get into a darker serious persona. I think that helped her get out a lot of her bottled feelings more than my normal supportive nature, but I'm actually alright. Besides, this should be the fun part of parenthood. Where they completely crash and burn, but can't tell us the truth without admitting we were right so they hide it. Then we secretly have to fix their mistake and act like we had no idea. Until the day of their wedding where we retell the story from our point of view and can finally laugh about it. Unless this fails real bad, then that wedding day is coming a lot sooner," He remarked.
Eight moons ago he probably would have been freaking out for his kits, but screw it. This was just another weekend in SunClan, he had gotten this clan out of way worse, whatever happened today he could handle.
"I can't just leave you Allaria, you're my sister, I already left you once when I got caught by SunClan so I just want to be here for you now. I just think that maybe next time spending quality time with you shouldn't involve high stakes like us signing up for a competition where we could be married before we're a year old... That's all," Blindfaith said, but her tone clearly held some worry in it.

Bravepaw was so focused on his siblings, he didn't even think about how anyone might view this, Nocturnepaw in particular, as he kept close to his sisters while Bloodystar told them to run. He was so surprised by the tom's joke, he actually laughed without thinking. "I'm only running to keep my sisters safe." He explained, gesturing to the fact he hadn't even put paint on his nose. "Soaringpaw decided to be hard headed as usual, and I'm not going to let anything happen to her or Blindfaith." @samiam
Snakebounce was still wary of his mother after everything that had happened. He still had nightmares and still woke up in a cold sweat after everything that happened. But his mother was the only parent he had left now. He wasn’t prepared for this. His father had died long before the tom’s first romance festival. All he’d ever hear about was this time of year from his parents but now? Now it had seemingly lost its luster. He showed up to support his sisters, especially Magnoliablush who seemingly had a suitor in mind, but he had no idea what to do. The runt of the litter brushed up against Valleyrose, giving her a sympathetic smile before he tossed his head to the rest of the she-cats.
“Why don’t you go?” He whispered once the high priest had given the order for the she-cats to go wild. “I’ll stay with mom...” The gray tabby carefully sat down next to Tinymutiny, giving her plenty of space but still close enough so that he could brush his tail against her if he so needed. “Hey mom... do you like what Valleyrose did with her pelt? She looks awfully pretty doesn’t she..?” He said a bit awkwardly, not sure what to say to his mother who had once been so full of life before his father had died Jadieracer Harmoniouspaw stroked his chin in thought as a mischievous smile spread across his face. “My dear brother... what an excellent idea..!” He chuckled, watching as all the she-cats surged forward on Bloodystar’s command. “You have fun with Cherrypaw... if that’s what you’d like to call it. I will be praying for you and our dear sister... and whatever poor tom tries to pin her down.” Honeystorm ”But auntie...!” Daisy whined as Weed attempted to pull her away from the fray. “It looks like it’ll be fun! And a great way to make new friends! That is what this is about, isn’t it?” The tortoiseshell questioned. Weed sighed and shook her head as she nudged her niece away from the gathering hoard of she-cats.
“For the last time, Daisy,” The initiate carefully rubbing her temple. She wasn’t sure how many times she would have to explain the concept to her niece, and she wasn’t exactly sure she was ready to have that conversation with her. But the young tortoiseshell had already taken the momentarily lapse in her aunt’s focus to quickly slither away from her and back into the crowd, just as Bloodystar gave the order to run. “This isn’t about making friends. This is about finding a new... Daisy? Daisy!” Weed snapped watching as her niece flew forward with an excited yowl.
"Valleyrose?" Tinymutiny questioned, her golden eyes finally leaving the sunflower fields to follow after her daughter's pelt "You mean briar.....?" it sounded like nonsense, but no more nonsense than the stuff she had already been rambling about "Yeah briar looks beautiful, Oakshade would have been proud..." it was moment where she almost seemed to have some clarity before she descended back into her madness "Oakshade you should be here..." NovaJadie
Bleedingheart took off running when Bloodystar called for the game to start. She wanted to give herself a good distance between her and the toms so if need be she could escape. Not that there were bad toms but there were definitely some who she would not get along with. After all divorce was not a thing in SunClan and Bloodystar did not even mention that the she-cat could deny whoever tackled her. So clearly this time around she would have to watch out closely.

“She does, huh?” Snakebounce said as he settled down near her, tucking his paws under his body. “Stinks being the youngest. Everyone else got all the good looks. I’m just goofy looking.” He said with a wry smile, only for it to quickly disappear as she mentioned Oakshade once more. Snakebounce stared at the ground for a moment, mulling over in his head what to say. Would anything really get through to her? Would his words just make everything worse? The young tom simply cleared his throat before he looked back up. “Magnoliablush seems like there’s someone she likes too. Hope she can snag him. Me, I think I might stay out of it this year. Not really my style. Besides the paint was making me sneezy” racer

Vintagepaw took off as soon as the announcement was made, fleeing into the distance until she couldn't see the toms anymore. She slipped into position, hiding, and waiting for Pebblepaw to appear on the horizon so that she could pounce. He would be hers, and soon enough she would have kits of her own. cookie
--------------> Alios looked back over her shoulder one last time at her red-faced tom who had been crushing on her. She caught his eye, giving him a wink before disappearing with the other she-cats. It was time to see if he had truly learned to think in grays instead of black and whites, as she neared the river, she waded through the shallows to disguise her scent, circling back up and around the ceremony springs to await Silverdragon. Nova
----------------> Innocentlament fled ahead of the boys, her long strides carrying her quickly across the landscape. But instead of continuing on, her pace slowed as she waited on the boys to be released to chase them. No one had chased her in years past, so she had no reason to believe that anyone would chase after her this year

Silverdragon had quickly looked up the moment Bloodystar had released the she-cats. Having given up on trying to get the rest of the red paint out of his fur, he quickly scanned the massive crowd until he found Alios. He flushed a bit when she had winked at him, and quickly cleared his throat as he rose to his paws as he waited for his own order to be released with the other toms.
"Briar?" Valleyrose's flicked her ears back, confused for a moment, before she remembered a conversation she'd had with her father not long before he had died. I wanted to name you Briarkit, but your mother insisted that Valleykit was better, that there could be briar in the valley but not valley in the briar, or something silly like that. I think she just liked the ring it had. But, between you and mean, I still think of you as my little Briarkit.
The forgotten memory brought tears to her eyes that she wiped away, knocking off some of the petals she'd had on her face. They were no longer symmetrical but she didn't care. She wasn't running, not when Tinymutiny was like this. She stiffened slightly when she sensed another cat at her side then realized the second she realized it was her brother.
"No, I don't need to run. It's fine," Although Valleyrose did feel a little bad to be potentially standing up Carnagepanic, but they weren't hat close, where they? She shook her head dismissively and let Snakebounce chatter on as he so often did, her mind elswhere. racerNova
----------------> Magnoliablush ran off until she couldn't been seen anymore, ducking behind one of the fallen logs so she could keep an eye on where Paintedcanyon was going. This was her one and only chance to show him how she felt. Don't mess this up. She repeated to herself over and over again.Nova
----------------> Havenpaw took off at a much slower pace, giving the toms a clear indication of where she was headed before she disappeared from sight. She wanted the toms to find her, and when they did she would be ready to teach them a lesson or two. She had no fear of this ceremony or of them being able to best her. meowwoof
----------------> Brightdawn disappeared out of sight, curious to see if Tawnyowl would chased after her or not. They were still early in their relationship, but their date had brought the closer. If he decided to run she would gladly accept him, but if he didn't she wouldn't blame him either. Flurryofstars
---------------> Tinymutiny suddenly stood, anger flashing in her eyes "Magnoliablush is what...." a coldness creeped into her voice, having suddenly snapped. "No she will not" before giving Valleyrose or Snakebounce time to react, she pushed through both of them racing off behind where the other she-cats had fled to without another word. No her daughter would not be running in this. All it brought was heart ache, she would stop her... one way or another JadieNova
Lovelypaw skipped ahead of the group but not too far because she wanted to be able to keep an eye on Bloodystar's leggy legs. She needed to make sure she got a headstart on getting to him before the other she-cats!

Ferventprayer took off running, giving a glance back towards Teneberousrequium as she did so. She was nervous, but in her heart she knew that this was the right thing to do. She wanted to be with Teneberousrequium and no one else. After today it would be official, and not even her father would be able to break them apart. Once she was out of site, she hid, waiting on him to make his apperance while staying out of the way of the other boys Jetclaw

Snakebounce could feel the fear creeping over him again, threatening to paralyze him as it always did when his mother snapped. His eyes narrowed quickly as his fur bristled. He knew he’d say the wrong thing one way or another. But he wasn’t going to let her ruin this day for Magnoliablush, or Valleyrose. Any of his siblings. Snakebounce could care less if the males had been called yet to run, he had quickly and haphazardly rushed to his paws to race after his mother.racer Paintedcanyon had to do his best not to sneeze, but the cold paint was making it very difficult. He watched as the she-cats ran forward. All seemed eager and he was half convinced that they all knew who they wanted to chose for a potential mate. Even Magnoliablush had run off in earnest. Whoever she chose would be lucky. She definitely seemed like a sweet cat. He wondered who it was she had her eye on racer

"Alright toms! Ready, set... GO!" Bloodystar called out and he himself took off ahead of the clowder, tail held high and majestic mane flowing in the wind.
Saltpaw had overheard something very interesting while he was waiting for the tom's turn to be released, in between glowering at Havenpaw, glowering at Harmoniouspaw, glowering at Handsomepaw for good measure because he was their brother and there's no way he wasn't also awful, and thinking about how actually maybe he should give up on all of them and chase after Lovelypaw because their date had actually gone pretty well except for the whole thing with the monstery monster.
Apparently, Bloodystar was also planning to run, and Saltpaw was struck with an idea about how he could really stick it to everybody here. Bloodystar had explicitly said that same-sex couples could participate... and if he managed to touch noses with Bloodystar himself somehow... then he would really be the winner of the romance festival!
Suddenly far less interested in the comings and goings of Havenpaw or any of the other she-cats, he cast a furtive glance at his noble sunny overlord and immediately took off running after him instead of the she-cats. Jadiei'm sorrywoof
Mistletoepaw, who had been there the whole time, gossiping with her bestie Enchantedpaw while she slathered bright green paint across her nose in a Sun-God-honoring way, was ready to be caught so she could fulfill her destiny of popping out kits for the Sun God. She waited impatiently at the starting line, and sprang into action as soon as she heard the word "Go!" - only to immediately trippy trip and fall right into Enchantedpaw, smacking her nose against her bestie's as she did so. She blinked at Enchantedpaw, seeing her green paint intermingling with whatever color Enchantedpaw had on. "Oh... I guess... that makes us mates now?" woof
