Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. Tenebrousrequiem had totally not been watching Ferventprayer from afar. Nope. He was just, making sure the kits didn't get into trouble. And focusing particularly on the ones around Ferventprayer and her sister.
So of course when Ferventprayer looked his way, he pretended to look at other kits. But he saw the look of pleading on her face.
Heaving a sigh, he rose to his paws and made his way over to her. "Are the kits bothering you?" He asked gruffly casting an eye down to the little ones toddling about, though he noted Troublemaker nearby and he eyed the cat, tail flicking behind him
"Uhh... no, to be honest I really wanted to give it to Ferventprayer," Honestkit wanted to be polite, really he did, but he was well-named. So much so that sometimes it was a curse. Blushing, not that you could tell as his face was mostly raven black, he presented a trembling paw to Troublemaker, "... It's OK thought, I'll probably be able to find another half somewhere for her..."
Watermelonkit released his grip on Resilientbloom's tail and cocked his head toward Tenebrousrequim. He had a teeny tiny dribble of blood on the white fluff that would someday be a glorious mane, "No we are having a lot of fun, just playing!"
Resilientbloom yanked her tail away from Watermelonkit and edged away from him shooting him a look. "What was that for?!" She said.
Tenebrousrequiem noted the blood, but didn't say anything. Resilientbloom was a janus, let her handle it. Instead he turned to Ferventprayer, and then looked to Honestkit, considering the leaf. "Where's the other half?" He asked. He knew the kit shouldn't tell him but, he was suspecting why Ferventprayer looked distressed.

Ferventprayer coughed, glad to avoid the question when the kit bit her sister's tail "He just wants me to take a leaf... but then I have to kiss whoever has the other half" when the kit wasn't looked she mouthed about his head I don't wanna hurt his feelings. Trying to figure out how to get out of this one
Troublemaker shrugged his shoulders "Well ok then, Ill just go get another one"
"I already gave the other half away," Honestkit said, looking at Ferventprayer with bright amber eyes, "If you don't take this one, than the other person who got it will be sad to not have a kiss... Please take it?"
Watermelongkit looked at Reseilientbloom menacingly, then mewed with the sweetest, cutest most innocent little voice, "What was what for?"
Eastkit had some leaves left, and was currently running around like crazy, trying to hand them out. He stopped at a random cat, holding one up expectantly. "Take it?" He asked his voice a little more sharp and insistent than sweet at this moment.
"Aww sure thing sweety, what's this for exactly?" Soaringpaw for her part did her best to avoid the silly games, but she couldn't ignore a gift from her adoptive sibling, "Is it... really just a leaf?" Honeystorm
"For the heart game!" Eastkit grinned, handing her the leaf with a bright smile. "You kiss whoever has the other half!" Leaving her to deal with that new revelation, he ran to hand out more, even Bravepaw somehow ended up with one.

Lavenderillusion, who'd been dragged along to yet another event she knew nothing about, glanced around in a slightly high gaze. She looked from one excited face to another and wondered what in the world was going on now. This whole festival was a nightmare, and far more work than she expected....but she may have gotten two friends out of it so she didn't honestly mind all that much. Now where was this Soaringpaw at?
"Thanks," Carnagepanic whispered gratefully as he took the leaf from Fuzzykit. He held it close to him, the most treasured thing he'd ever owned, and watched as other cats received their leaf. Which of these cats was his soulmate? Were any of them? As long as someone else had the other half of his leaf, and agreed to kiss him, he would be okay with that...
He picked up his leaf and started to carry it around to compare to other cats, and stopped in front of Resilentbloom and Ferventprayer. "Uh, hi," he mewed, nudging his leaf toward them, "is yours..,?"
Tenebrousrequiem curled his lip as he compared his leaf to Ferventprayers. Theirs didn't match, meaning she would have to kiss someone else and he would now as well.
He glanced over when Carnagepanic arrived bristling, but relaxed when he saw the toms leaf didn't match Ferventprayers. Though looking at it... it looked a similar shade of green as his...
Resilientbloom hummed, "Well, it doesn't match Ferventprayers... but maybe mine?" She placed hers beside Carnagepanic's then shook her head. "No, they don't match." She said. "Your other half isn't me or Ferventprayer." Cleaverracer
Bravepaw was trying to look over everyone's, only to watch as Tenebrousrequiem compared his leaf to Ferventprayer's, and it didn't match. He neared, glancing at his own leaf, with a sneaking suspicion about who his half belonged to. He didn't actually step up to her to confirm, instead nudging Tenebrousrequiem quietly. "Trade leaves with me, I think I have Ferventprayer's." He whispered, silently turning his body and sliding the leaf over to the tom. He really didn't want to kiss the she-cat, and better if someone who wanted to could. Save them both the trouble. Jetclaw
Tenebrousrequiem turned and glanced at Bravepaw, then nodded slipping his leaf under his paw. Then he slid his paw under him and held the leaf to Bravepaw for the apprentice to take and swap leaves with him.
He'd have Bravepaw match with who Tenebrousrequiem's leaf was matched with and then make a point of going 'oh, it seems I was mistaken Ferventprayer, we actually match.'
Bravepaw gave a slight smile, swiping Tenebrousrequiem's leaf, shifting slightly to hopefully hide the fact they were swapping. He scrutinized his leaf again, for a moment sliding it towards the tom, as if he was comparing theirs. "No match." He sighed, hooking his leaf once more quietly and then picking it up to go and check someone else's. He quickly stepped over to Ferventprayer, practically swiping her leaf to check it against his, and then slid hers back over, making sure he hadn't mixed them up. "Looks like we're not matched." The tom looked especially relieved, as he walked away to find another cat without another word, hoping no one had paid enough attention while they were trying to match their own to see that he and Tenebrousrequiem had actually swapped leaves.
Ferventprayer shook her head to Carnagepanic pulled his leaf back when it didn't match her or her sister's leaf "Sorry It looks like we are not your match"
Ferventprayer had been to distracted between Carnagepanic and the kits to notice the leaf swap going on between Tenerberousrequium and Bravepaw behind her back. Then Tenerberousrequium was at her side again, putting his leaf against hers a purr rumbled in her throat when the two sides went together perfectly "You know, I was starting to think this was just some silly game, but maybe there is something more to it" She tilted her head upwards, having to stand up on toes to press her muzzle to his, her cheeks hot. But her dad couldn't get mad... It was the rules of the game. JetclawHoneystorm --------------------------------> Vintagepaw went around checking her leaf against several of the toms, but none seemed to be her match. Sighing, she sat down eyes scanning the crowd to see who else was still looking for their match Nova --------------------------------> Troublemaker grinned, holding up his leaf to Pixiepaw's and seeing how they went together seamlessly "Your a little young to be playing this sort of game" he chuckled, not that he really cared all that much. The orange tabby seemed rather happy to at least have a pretty she-cat to kiss "but rules are rules I suppose" Jadie --------------------------------> Unseenlights blinked "Now whats all this about kissing?" she asked rather confused by the whole thing Jadie
Tenebrousrequiem let out a satisfied purr as he pressed his muzzle against hers in turn. Satisfied that he'd kissed Ferventprayer as he should.
It was really in Bravepaw's best interest to ensure Tenebrousrequiem stuck with Ferventprayer. Tenebrousrequiem didn't want Ferventprayer to drag herself down by following her father's order and forcing herself to be with Bravepaw. Something neither cat wanted, and would make them both miserable.
He had to respect the apprentice's smarts. He knew what his best play was and he made it, Tenebrousrequiem could at least respect that.
Eastkit jumped up in front of Unseenlights with a grin. "We gotta find your other leaf half! Then you gotta kiss whoever it is!" He announced proudly, throwing away all his other leaves he had left to gently grab is mother's. "Come on! I'll compare and help you find who it belongs to!." The kitten purred. racerJadie
Carnagepanic sighed. "Well, thanks for checking! Just for the record, I didn't want to kiss you, I just saw there were two of you here, and- I mean, not that I wouldn't kiss you, I just meant-" he stopped as he realized most of the trio weren't listening to him anyway. That was... honestly a relief. Dipping his head to Resilentbloom, he backed away; clearly, Ferventprayer didn't match his leaf either. But then who was left?
Unseenlights blinked "No honey, the cat that I kiss is your father" she cooed gently "you see me and Duskslayer are married, and when you get married you can't just going around kissing other cats" she chuckled, leaning down and licking Eastkit behind his ears "I'm glad that you made me a lead though, it was very thoughtful and kind. Perhaps we can find another cat to gift it to that isn't married yet" HoneystormJadie
Ferventprayer smiled shyly, this being the first time she had kissed Teneberousrequium in front of anyone else. She pulled away her muzzle but let their fur continue to brush against one another before watching as Carnagepanic excused himself. She felt kind of bad for the cat as they stuttered and looked rather nervous.
