Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Berrykit was good at deciding that other kittens were going to play with her. More often than not, they didn't want to, but more often than not, the perky kitten just simply did not care. It was always a Russian Roulette of who was going to be forced to tag along with her for a day of adventures, and today, Crystalkit was the lucky gal.
"So, whatchya wanna do today, bestie?" she chirped, knowing full well that the duo had only interacted in passing.
"Close!" she chirped. "Cherry's are fruits, and so are berries, and they even rhyme!" It didn't seem to bother her that the other didn't know her name; Berrykit was more than willing to look over that fact.
"Bugs!" she then meowed, excitement clear in her small body. "What kinda bugs? Mama always told me that bugs were bad but I've seen some really pretty ones lately and I just think that mama is just wrong! What's your favorite bug?" Her words were so fast that no one could blame anyone else if they couldn't keep up.
Crystalkit blinked. Finally, someone who appeared to be just as much into bugs as she was! "Well, I like 'em all, Merrykit!" she said, eyes gleaming. "I think it's wrong that so many cats are scared of bugs just because of how they look! My favourite ones to look at are the big tarantulas with all the hair and the fangs and the seventeen hundred eyes!"
"That's so many eyes!" she meowed with a gasp. "I've never seen one of those! Do they live here? Maybe we can hunt through the camp to find one!" Her paws tapped in excitement, although she could honestly say she'd never seen something so uniquely terrifying in her life.
"Sure do live here! I've seen a ton," Crystalkit said, snaggletooth gleaming in the moonlight. Well, she'd seen one--but it had looked like a baby tarantula, which meant that there had to be at least two more. "I saw one by the back of the nursery one time!"
"The back of the nursery!" She sounded shocked. "What if they crawl on us at night? We better go find them to make sure they aren't crawling on us at night," she meowed with a resolute nod, before running in the direction of the nursery. "You comin', bestie?"
"Sure am, bestie!" Crystalkit chirped. She wasn't totally sure if Berrykit was her bestie or not, but it was never a bad idea to just follow the other person's lead, right?
"I think I saw it around here," she said, poking a little spot near one of the nursery walls. "From that hole in the ground, right there. Go ahead, poke your nose in there and see!"
Her excitable nature wasn't ... quite enough to make her dive into the hole with absolutely no precaution, although it perhaps wouldn't have been unexpected if she did. "Are you sure I gotta be the one to do it?" she mewed apprehensively, squinting at the hole. "I haven't even seen a spider like that! Maybe you should because you really like bugs and you're probably a bug whisperer so you can make it so it doesn't bite me!"
Crystalkit rolled her eyes. "Alright, fine, I'll do it. Scaredy-cat." She poked her tongue out at Berrykit before sticking her head into the hole. "Oh, I see him!" she chirped, voice muffled. "...And her! And their kids! Wait--oh no. Oh, oops." She pulled her head out in one swift movement, a look of alarm on her face. "Berrykit, I screwed up," she whispered, as tarantulas started pouring out of the hole. "There's so many of them Berrykit and I made them all angry Berrykit, oh nooooo."
Berrykit watched in absolute horror as the spiders took over the nest. They were all so ... furry. She could feel her stomach churn and a squeal escaped her mouth. This was exactly why she didn't want to be the one that did it. She quickly hopped out of the way of the biggest one, but before she knew it, one of the babies had crawled up her front paw. This time, it wasn't just a squeal, it was a full out scream. "Get it off me!" she screeched as loud as she possibly could, something that surely would alert someone of their predicament.
do u want to be the one cursedt to rp two cats in 1 thread or do u want me to i have no idea how these kids would solve this wihtout an adults help LOL
"Oh come on, Berrykit, there's nothing to be scared of," Crystalkit said, letting tarantulas flow over her fur. "Become one with the tarantulas, Berrykit. They like you." It wasn't long before the she-kit could barely be seen under the writhing mass of spiders that crawled over her.
There was a stifled gasp from behind the pair. "What the hell is that?" Violetglass snapped, ushering Berrykit away with a protective paw. "Berrykit, get the hell--I mean, heck away from that thing before it kills you or something."
Berrykit looked like she was about to be physically sick when the other kitten let the creatures crawl on her. This was perhaps the first time in the kitten's young life that she experienced any negative emotion, and she didn't like it. And, she was starting to think her new best friend was a borderline psychopath, but that was besides the point.
When she got pulled back by the loyal guard member, she felt a rush of relief. "Someone to save us!" she squeaked, finding herself comfortably behind the older cat, who now stood between her and the horrible creepy crawlies. "We just wanted to say hi to them but then Crystalkit put her head in too far and now they..." she couldn't even continue. Now, they were everywhere.
"Oh for god's sake, you two did this?" huffed Violetglass, shaking her head. "Kits these days don't have any common sense, do they? Well, you two started it and you two will fix it or I am moving my butt back to my old loner den."
"Does it at least have spiders in it?" Crystalkit piped up, still covered in spiders. A tarantula tried to sneak its way into her mouth, and she pushed it out with her tongue.
"That is beyond disgusting," Violetglass grimaced. "Berrykit, help me plug up the hole they're coming from with whatever you can find, alright?" she asked, and started plugging the hole with moss.
She looked sheepish when Violetglass huffed at her, her ears pinning back slowly. Crystalkit didn't tell her that this was going to happen if they looked at the spiders!
At Violetglass' instruction, she found herself moving towards the hole. She didn't want to be anywhere near the spiders, there were too many of them, but she'd rather help than have to watch Crystalkit borderline eat the bugs. "Do you think they'll come back if we just plug up the hole?" she asked in her chirp of a voice as she started to take apart the nests around her to put the moss in the hole. Would the queens be impressed when they came back to see they had no nests? Probably not, but they'd be even less impressed if they had to sleep with the spiders, right?
"Maybe," Violetglass grunted, moving faster than she ever had before. "I'll be honest, kid, I'm less worried about the future and more concerned with getting these things out of here before Crystalkit does of spiderbite-to-the-lung disease."
"Don't be silly, Violetglass!" Crystalkit chirped, still swarming with spiders. "They'd probably bite my stomach first!"
Had Berrykit ever puked before? She didn't think so, but the idea of Crystalkit eating the spiders and therefore having them end up in her stomach to give her spider-bite-to-the-stomach disease pushed the little kit over the edge. Now, next to the giant hole of spiders she was still trying to plug up, there was a nice mess to clean up later. "Bleh," she shuddered after, before shaking herself. This was no time to let the spiders win, she thought with new resolve, before she shoved the last bit of moss in the hole that could fit. "I think... I got it," she mewed, voice still weak from yaking all over the damn place.
Violetglass grimaced as Berrykit puked all over the floor. "I'm not cleaning that up," she growled, stepping back to admire their work--the plug in the hole, not the contents of Berrykit's stomach. There were no more spiders coming from the nest, but there was still the issue of all the spiders covering Crystalkit. "Come on, you two," she muttered, "we're taking Crystalkit to the river."
Her stomach churned again, but this time she held back the reflex. "O-okay," she meowed. The river would be good, right? Maybe the water would get the terrible taste out of her mouth.... But the last time she went out of camp, the other kit encouraged her to eat a berry she had a large allergic reaction to, so maybe Berrykit was a little nervous, too. She was going to put on her big girl pants, though, and come with. "Do you think you're gonna get bit and end up like half spider? Swinging from webs or something?" she asked Crystalkit as she followed Violetglass, trying to lighten her own mood again.
