Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Fallingleaves dropped off her rabbit onto the fresh kill pile, before turning to leave with Sprout on her heels chirpin happily. She hadn't been seen a lot around camp which wasn't all that unusual. She was always more seclusive and really only coming back to drop off her catch and important meetings. However, what was unusual was really only seen if you were paying attention. They way her rounded belly swung from one side to the other under her thick auburn pelt. Looking at her from the side it was hard to tell, but looking at her from the front it was fairly obvious what secret she had been hiding. To bad she never lingered long enough for most cats to notice... most....Jadie
"Icekit! Come back here!" Moltenmidnight called as his little nephew scampered across Fallingleaves's paws with a couple of feathers in his jaws. War and Peace, "Boy, you are going to be in so much trouble when I tell your mother!"
"Volcanickiss doesn't believe in discipline!" The kit squeaked back, running behind Fallingleaves and hiding between her and the ferret. Of course, it was obvious that he was there; the kit had off-white fur and stood out like a sore thumb next to his dark-furred "allies." Still, Moltenmidnight was fooled for a few seconds, as his attention wandered away from Icekit and to Fallingleaves.
He hadn't seen his childhood friend in some time; in fact, last he had really talked to her, Sprout had been little more than a pup. She'd really changed a lot since then... her fur had grown thick with the winter months and she seemed... different somehow. He couldn't quit pin it down, "The elusive Fallingleaves is the partner in crime with my mischievous nephew? Does that mean you'll take his punishment for stealing my feathers?" He teased, or was that flirting? Moltenmidnight had always found it easy to talk with her.

Auburn paws came to a sudden stop as a it went scampering over them. She lifted them awkwardly as the kit went scampering behind her to hide from..Moltenmidnight. She couldn't help but smile, taking in the playful but slightly annoyed expression on his face. Even after all this time he hadn't changed to much, still the same goofy boy that had helped her through some rather tough times as an apprentice. She hated being around most cats, but her friend was different from the others. Easy to talk to, and he had always kept her secrets safe.
"I think that could be arranged" she swept her tail over the kit to hide him from view even though his little white legs poking out made it obvious as to where he was hiding "But first you have to find the little rascal, he seems to have disappeared" she looked around with exaggerated turns of her head "Now where has he gotten off to this time?"
Moltenmidnight rolled his eyes. Kits were always exhausting, but Icekit, well, he was something special. Volcanickiss had asked him to look after the kit for an afternoon while everyone else slept so at first he'd thought they just needed to play for a little bit then take a nap. He himself had been a high energy kit, too, he knew how it went. So, after playing for awhile, the toms had curled up together and, just went Moltenmidnight was about to drift to sleep, Icekit bit his toe, stole his feathers and was off.
And now he was hiding behind Fallingleaves... one of the few cats that Moltenmidnight had learned wasn't worth challenging. She always won. Would he ever get his feathers back!? For now he'd have to play along, it was his only hope, after all. He grinned almost wide enough to be called a fool. Almost.
"Perhaps Sprout can help us find him. Haven't you been training her on scenting prey?" Moltenmidnight purred, stepping in close enough to Fallingleaves that their whiskers brushed against once another. He was a tall, muscular tom, who took strongly after his father, the result of decades of selective breeding in the Pravus Nocte, "Oh, maybe we shouldn't use her. Last I knew she had a really hard time letting go..."

Fallingleaves clicked her tongue as Sprout came bounding forward "Sprout could find Icekit but..." she trailed off winking at her friend before continuing "Sprout loves feathers. I'm afraid if we send Sprout to find him, that she might bit him to get the feathers" she tilted her head to the side "Maybe Icekit has dropped the feathers by now... What do you think? Should we send her to find him?"
"Only if Icekit keeps this up..." Moltenmidnight said in a very low, threatening voice. It wouldn't scare a cat any older than an apprentice but was very effective with kits; he could even hear Icekit's sharp intake of breath from where he stood, "... but if he gives me back my feathers right now, he won't be in any trouble. So he should think real long and hard about what he wants to do next..."
The white-furred kit trembled for a moment, but it wasn't with fear, but excitement! One of Moltenmidnight's feathers had been sticking out from beneath Fallingleaves's tail and Icekit observed that it bounced back at him slightly. Given that the two big cats were talking about Sprout, he assumed the ferret was there, so he just kept jabbing her with the feather to try and see what she would do.

Fallingleaves waited for a few moments, giving a wink to Moltenmidnight "Well Sprout, it looks like Icekit isn't going to be coming out any time soon. How about you go and find him?" flicking her ear back, the ferret responded with a loud chatter, standing up on it's hind legs and pawing at the air before leaping playfully at Fallingleaves tail, its long neck snaking around her fluff until it was in Icekit's face her small fangs hanging out from underneathe her top lip slightly
Icekit let out a high pitched squeal and shoved one of Moltenmidnight's feathers - peace - toward Sprout to distract her. He then took the other feather - war - and made a break for the camp exit, moving as fast as his little paws could carry him.
Moltenmidnight wasn't sure who to pursue - the kit or the ferret. One on hand he trusted that Icekit wouldn't damage a feather, at last not intentionally, but the ferret was an animal. Odds were she'd shred it if she had it much longer. Letting out a somewhat confused growl, the bengal tom lunged at Sprout to try and take the feather away... and tripped right over his own paws and onto Fallingleaves's torso.

Sprout clicked as the feather was shoved into her mouth, but the fast moving kit was far more interesting than the feather. As Moltenmidnight lunged at her, Sprout was already off chasing after the kit. Her cheerful chattering filling the air.
Normally Fallingleaves was quicker on her feet, but with her expanding belly it threw off her center of gravity from what she was used to. She stepped back to avoid the collision, but was to slow as the tom came stumbling forward. It sent both of them tumbling backwards as he landed hard on her stomach. It hurt, already tender in that area, causing her to shriek and push hard against his chest. She wiggled underneath his weight "Get off me right now, or I will shred your ears so help you StarClan"
Moltenmidnight didn't wait to be told twice and quickly pulled himself away from Fallingleaves, blushing beneath that golden fur of his and averting his eyes. He'd pawed all over her and felt super creepy about it, especially since it made his heart rate quicken in ways he'd always tried to stifle, at least around her. It his confusion he'd managed to totally not notice that her stomach was unusually swollen, although he did pick up on the fact that her scent was somehow... different. Familiar in a way he couldn't quite pin down.
"Are you okay?" He asked, offering her a paw to help her back on your feet, "You must have been slacking, the Fallingleaves I know would have dodged that with her eyes closed, haha."

The red she-cat scrambled to her paws after smacking his paw away, wrapping her tail protectively over her stomach trying not to throw up. Her good mood turning sour "Try it again and find out" she retorted sharply, putting some distance between them before realizing how sharp she sounded "Sorry... that just hurt a lot" she readjusted her weight "You are going to have to be more careful for a little while"
"What do you mean by that?" Moltenmidnight asked, oblivious as any young hot-blooded tom aught to be when it came to matters of the female type. His brain cells were hard at work and still had not yet connected the dots, "The whole, be more careful for a little while. Did you twist your ankle or something? Do you think we should go visit Brakewings?"

"No" she answered immediately. She didn't trust Brakewings, and why would she? He mother surely didn't and she still had suspicions that he was involved in some of the things that happened during her reign as leader "I'll be ok, but I can't spar with you the way we used to" she paused going back and forth between if she should tell him or not. She had been trying to keep it a secret, especially from her family. They always had their nose in her business, and she had a feeling that once they found out about the kits there would be no stopping them from intruding "Look Moltenmidnight...I'll tell you, but if you breath a word of this to my family, I'll have to hurt you..." she looked up meeting his eyes "I'm pregnant"
Moltenmidnight nodded right along, used to these such terms whenever Fallingleaves had a secret. She was a very private she-cat and liked to keep he business to herself. He couldn't blame her for that. However, when the truth itself was finally revealed, he was absolutely gobsmacked, "You're WHAT!?"
His voice carried further than he wanted it to and immediately he lowered his head, ears pinned, heart racing. For just a split second he was worried he may be the father but then he reminded himself that that was not how things worked. They'd never been intimidate. Then who was the father?! He'd never seen her with any other tom before but, then again, Fallingleaves was always on the move. Was he from another Clan? Or, worse, just some random fling by a passing vagabond?!
Moltenmdinight gulped and tried to keep the anger out of his voice when he responded, but his tone was very nearly a growl, "Who is the father? And... where can I find him?"

She really expected nothing less, when he nearly yelled in surprise. Moltenmidnight had always been a little over the top, but what he did next did catch her off guard. Was he angry? She blinked, even taking a step back under the full force of his gaze before getting a hold of herself "Their father really isn't your concern" she replied, smoothing out her voice and turning away from him to continue on the path that they had been walking on "What is done is done, and there is no going back to change it now. I'm already pregnant"
She glanced backwards at him "and I have no intentions of giving them up or ending the pregnancy"
"All I asked was who the father is! I didn't say anything about giving up your kits or ending your pregnancy, you mouse-brain!" Moltenmidnight growled, her was doing his best not to get loud due to the sensitive nature of this conversation but in truth he wanted the scream, "Why isn't he here, by your side? He's not a DayClan cat, is he?!"
It wasn't uncommon for DayClan cats to intermingle with other Clans not did it break any codes. He himself was technically half-Clan, his surrogate mother some she-cat from SummerClan. But! But Fallingleaves deserved better. She deserved someone to stand by her side and go through all of this with her. She'd only ever done things all by herself by choice but parenting a littler of kittens was a team sport. She needed the support.

"You didn't have to" she replied, not shying away from his gaze "It's written all over your face" It was the very reason she hadn't told anyone about the pregnancy in the first place. Having to deal with judgment from everyone, forced to answer questions that she didn't want to answer. Fallingleaves didn't like being the center of attention, nor her privacy being invaded. He was the first cat she had told, and this was only confirming her own fears. If even Moldtenmidnight was going to react this way, the rest of her family was going to be far worse.
"I'm not going to tell you, or anyone for that matter, who the father is. He already knows about the pregnancy" she paused, letting her words sink in. It sounded harsh, but it was a point that she would not budge on "I left the decision in his paws, the rest is up to him"
Moltenmidnight drew away from Fallingleaves as anger coursed through his veins. It was like a poison, spreading throughout his body and coiling around his heart, triggering his fight or flight response. The bengal tom's claws unsheathed involuntarily and he dug them into the dirt ground as he moved, leaving deep gouges in his wake.
He couldn't talk to her like this. If he stayed longer, he may just do something he'd regret.
"You can't keep going through life thinking you have to do everything on your own. You're going to burn yourself out," I'm right here, he wanted to add, but for some reason he did not. He then turned to walk away before she responded, not wanting to hear what she said next, if anything...

"and who is it that I'm supposed to rely on? Tell me that?" there wasn't any anger in her voice, just the same cool and collected expression that she always used "My birth parents? The cats who raised me and lied to me for my entire kit-hood? My siblings that want nothing to do with me? Or how about my grandmother who disappeared just as we were getting close?" with each question, she was becoming more emotional, a side of her that not many cats got to see. This wasn't the cold harsh cat that she usually became during an argument, but a cat very near the brink of a break down
"You don't understand, and I don't expect you to. When you let someone in, all they do is hurt you from within where you can't even fight back against it. I expected that from my family, but not you..." she looked hurt, having to hold on tightly to the tears that were threatening to over spill "I thought we were friends, but instead of supporting me when I needed you the most all you have done is threaten and judge" He was the first cat she had told about the pregnancy, and it had gone terribly, only confirming that she had indeed made the right decision in keeping it to herself "But don't worry, this pregnancy has nothing to do with you. I'll deal with it on my own, just like I always have"
Moltenmidnight stopped and stood in place absolutely silent for a few moments. He was still as a statue, almost so rigid that it looked like he may not even be breathing. To perhaps anyone other than Fallingleaves, he was incredibly intimidating. Tall, well muscled, with deadly, raven-black claws and burning green eyes. In this moment he was very little DayClan and all Pravus Nocte. He wanted to kill something, make it bleed, exert all of his anger on a physical target and worry about the repercussions laters.
"I'm going to borrow your very favorite move..," He said through gritted teeth, "..and just walk away. You should be happy. You want to be all alone, right?"
He didn't wait for her to answer and made his exit.
