Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Despite snow falling in heavy sheets in the wee hours of the morning, the overcast sky had parted to allow the sun to shine in full force. It erased some of the frigid cold and eased warmth back into the atmosphere somewhat, just enough to where the kittens would begin to venture out, beckoned by the promise of play. With their fluffy pelts and resistance to anything that would deny them fun, soon the camp was alive with the sounds of scuffles and squeals, of mirth and mischief-making.
Even Sunkit's frosty attitude seemed warmed by the merry cheer floating its way through camp. The auburn-pointed she-cat had stretched herself atop a sunningrock and soaked in the rays, but when she thought no one was looking, she rolled onto her back and batted flakes into the air, giggling as they showered back down on her. In doing so she almost lost her balance and fell off the boulder, barely recovering and glancing around to ensure no one noticed.
At the other end of camp, Pikekit coaxed a trembling Iridescentkit out of the tangle of a bare bush. "It's not gonna hurt you. Look, see?" He balled up some snow with a forepaw and took a bite out of it, then opened his mouth to show the albino kitten that his insides weren't frozen. Iridescentkit, however, only widened his pink eyes in abject horror, tears threatening to fall. He made a mad dash for the closest cat to him, all the way shrieking, "Pikekit is gonna die! His insides are gonna become ice and then they'll break!" Watching his denmate wail in the distance, the golden tom sighed. "That didn't go as planned..."
"Mind if I join ya, sissie?" Weevilkit hopped up onto the boulder with Sunkit, rolling over to lay on his side next to her. With a cheeky grin, the fuzzy tom kit playfully stretched out, taking up as much room on the sunningrock as possible and slowly pushing his littermate towards the edge of the boulder. Blinking innocently up at her annoyed face, he let out a purr while his paws kneaded the air. "Aw, what's that face for? I just wanna spend some quality time ya, Sunkit. Ya seemed so lonely up here by yourself."
"Woah, h-hey!" Grasspaw nearly jumped out of his fur when Iridescentkit practically barreled into him, the near warrior-age apprentice staring down at the inconsolable kit wearily. For a moment he glanced around camp, hoping to find a warrior or Queen who would be better suited to handling this sort of wailing, but it was clear that it was up to him to deal with this poor kit. With some hesitation, he awkwardly wrapped his front paw around Iridescentkit in a half-hug. "There there, buddy. I'm sure Pikekit isn't gonna die. Snow's just really fluffy and cold water, ya know?"
Sunkit's comfortably squinted eyes flashed open when her brother pushed her closer to the side of the boulder, rolling quickly to catch herself. "I was just fine by myself," she huffed, but there was no sharp edge to her voice this time, blue gaze twinkling. With her own devious simper, she rose and quickly splayed the length of her small body on top of his, intentionally fluffing out her fur as much as she could, Weevilkit smooshed beneath her. "But y'know, bub, you're so comfy and soft like a cloud. I always wanted to sleep on a cloud," purred his content sister.
Grasspaw probably intended to comfort Iridescentkit, but the kitten's eyes only widened to an incredible width. "Pikekit is going to DROWN?!?!" Looking faintly green in the face, and his vision beginning to blur, he felt like he might pass out, horrified to learn that Pikekit was doomed either way. "Grasspaw, you have to save him! He's too young to drown and and and he's my only friend and he just can't die!" Then he would be alone with his disease-- again!
Thistlepaw was pawing through herbs in the camp, enjoying the sun on her bright ginger fur even though the snow was cold. The medicine apprentice looked up at the commotion, pausing to cover her mouth and giggle at the antics of the kits. "Who's drowning over there?" she called, catching only the end of Iridescentkit's cry.

Bindingkit heard the commotion and came running. "I'll save you, Pikekit!" he called. Skidding to a halt he saw his brother, Iridescentkit, in his normal state of panic. There's nothing I can do about that, he thought. Then looking at Pikekit, confusion spread across his features. "Drowning? How can you be drowning when there's not even a puddle around here? Can a cat drown in snow?" He pawed at the snow and looked inquisitively at it.
Iridescentkit's panic lessened a little bit at the sight of the medicine cat apprentice. If anyone could save his only friend, he was sure she could! "It's Pikekit! Pikekit ate some snow and I thought he was gonna freeze on the inside but Grasspaw said it's water so he's going to drown!!"
"He's just being dramatic," Pikekit told Bindingkit, sighing heavily at the commotion he'd caused. He had just been trying to help... "I'm not drowning. I'm not freezing. I just wanted him to play a lil, yknow?" He figured his denmate would, being he knew that Bindingkit was Iridescentkit's brother.
Thistlepaw came over to the mass of kits, amusement causing her eyes to sparkle. "I won't let him drown," she promised to Iridescentkit, patting him on the head. Then her gaze turned to Pikekit. "I understand. I always wanted my sister to play with me growing up."

Bindingkit nodded at Pikekit's explanation and then sighed. "He's such a worrier." He loved his brother but he sometimes he just couldn't understand him. Bindingkit was brave and felt like he could take on the whole world.
"Can you do anything to change Iridescentkit? Like give him some courage herbs or somethin'?" he asked Thistlepaw.
Her paw patted Bindingkit on the head this time. Kits were so soft! "You shouldn't wanna change your brother," she said softly, her expression kind. "He'll learn courage all on his own. You've just gotta help him out."
Weevilkit grunted as his sister flopped on top of him, his feathery tail whipping back and forth in annoyance as her weight pressed down on him. He wiggled beneath Sunkit in an attempt to make himself more comfortable, before finally giving up and glancing up at her from the corner of his eye. "The only reason I haven't thrown you off yet is because I refuse to let you win," he mumbled, trying his best to look angry, but unable to hide the small smile on his face.
"Oh thank Starclan," Grasspaw muttered under his breath when Thistlepaw appeared; the Medicine Cat Apprentice was probably better suited to handling...whatever Iridescentkit's problem was. He cringed slightly when somehow the kit misinterpreted his own awkward attempt to clam him down, and was now screaming about Pikekit drowning. "It- it's not drowning, Iridescentkit!" The young tom meowed exasperatedly. "It's...drinking! Eating snow is just like drinking cold water! You can't drown from drinking water, everyone drinks water, and we're all okay!"
Thistlepaw laughed at the other apprentice's attempts to calm down the situation. It was cute. "I'm not sure we're all okay," she teased, smiling at Grasspaw. "Some cats drink water and it makes them do silly things like get stuck in logs."

"Stuck in logs?" Bindingkit asked, tipping his head quizzically to one side. "How can a cat do that getting a drink?" Glancing over toward Iridescentkit, he groaned. Oh, great! Now he's gonna be afraid of logs!
Tail curling comfortably above her in a plumy arch, she remained unperturbed by Weevilkit's insistence. "You couldn't throw me off if you wanted to, bubble." Sunkit leaned her head down to rub her cheek all along his, all the while a great big rumbling purr resonated through her. She'd never admit it but she loved these times with her brother. In the nursery she had too much of a reputation to uphold to be seen snuggling, and with how chaotic their litter seemed to be when they were all together, it wasn't often Sunkit's sweeter side was shown.
By this point, Iridescentkit's fur was spiked in every which way and his gaze was widened impossibly. "Stuck?! In a LOG?!?" How could the world be so dangerous? First, the snow froze everything and then he found out it was fluffy water, which sounded WAY worse than normal water, and now the waterncould make cats go crazy?! He passed out.
Iridescentkit fell to the ground in a heap at his paws, and now it was Pikekit's golden pelt that fluffed out. "H-hey! He fainted! Is he gonna be okay?"
Ditzy Thistlepaw covered a paw in surprise as Iridescentkit fell to the ground. He would wake up on his own, but she still felt bad for not being careful with her words in front of the kit.
"He'll be fine, though he might have a headache. Won't know 'til he wakes up though."

"Yes, he'll be fine," Bindingkit added. "I've seen him fall asleep before when he gets extra excited. I guess all this stuff was just too much for him." He wondered why his brother would fall asleep when everything got exciting. Excitement had the opposite affect on him, he felt energized when interesting things happened.
"Falls asleep?" Pikekit echoed Bindingkit curiously, glancing between him and his unconscious sibling. "Huh, I guess he just needed to rest? I get tired after I play for a while too." But Iridescentkit hadn't been playing with them, so the golden tom wasn't sure why he got so worked up that he decided to take a nap in the middle of everyone.
Bugkit stumbled out of the nursery. His fur very much is disarray. His mossy green eyes squinted against the blinding light bouncing off the snow. He had recently woken up from a nap, but the chaotic noise coming from outside who could get any sleep? "Why are you guys all so loud." He complained as he stomped up to the large group of kittens and two apprentices.
Pikekit turned sheepishly to Bugkit and gestured to the collapsed Iridescentkit at their feet. "Sorry Bugkit. We were tryna help Iridescentkit but he got tired and fell asleep," he relayed to their denmate, hoping the apology might smooth Bugkit's ruffled pelt.
"Cats don't get stuck in logs because of drinking, Thistlepaw was just making fun of me," Grasspaw explained, casting an annoyed glare at the Medicine Cat Apprentice as Iridescentkit passed out. He let out a sigh as he stared down at the fainted kit. "I don't know how else you were expecting him to react," he continued to Thistlepaw. "Starclan knows this kit apparently takes everything literally." He gently poked at the albino kit with his paw. "Should we move him to the Nursery or the Medicine Den or something?"
Weevilkit rolled his eyes in mock annoyance, but couldn't hide the soft rumble of his purring as Sunkit nuzzled him. His ears lifted slightly as heard the sound of their other brother, and he turned his head as much as he could to glance over at Bugkit across the camp. A small smirk crossed his muzzle as an idea came to mind. "Hey Bugkit!" He called out to his sibling. "Come over here, let's make a snuggle pile!"

Always wanting to be of service, Bindingkit mewed, "I can help you," to Thistlepaw and Grasspaw. He felt bad for his brother, always being fearful of something. Secretly he believed that StarClan gave himself an extra brave heart, one that was exceptional, one that was better than anyone else's. He looked over at Pikekit. "You can help carry Iridescentkit too. He's gonna catch cold laying on that cold ground like that."
