Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
A new voice came from the distant north side of camp. Standing in the bright beam of sunlight was Faithpaw, last seen being hulled off by Flamingstar during the start of the war. Her paint was completely gone, but in place of its beauty was a necklace with a beautiful gem white gem stone that shined like starlight in the sunlight behind her. She had grown up quite a bit since being gone, that was apparent when she began to speak, her voice less squeaky, more well spoken, but still the young voice of a child, "I know this is sudden, but I have done a lot to come back to all of you. I am the next soothsayer, Blindfaith, and I'm here to warn you that we must leave MoonClan's camp and return home."
Since being held in NightClan, studying their culture Faithpaw couldn't help, but feel envious of medicine cats. StarClan sent down omens of proof when someone was the next medicine cat. When they received a warning medicine cats could tell their clan that StarClan told them. But in SunClan there were no omens of proof to prove that she was the soothsayer and she couldn't tell her clan mates about the temple. Truly anyone could say they were the soothsayer right now and they would have the same amount of proof as she had, none. This all relied on faith, a dangerous system to play with. She was an apprentice who vanished during war coming back smelling like NightClan with no paint, calling herself a soothsayer. But she owed it to the temple and SunClan to at least give it her best shot. Plus in NightClan she was a warrior now with the warrior name Blindfaith so technically she wasn't an apprentice anymore, not that anyone here knew that.
"Astrid!" Allaria was overjoyed to see her sister, it didn't matter what she looked like, smelled like or called herself, that was her littermate whom she had feared dead for the past moon or so. Rumors had it that she'd escaped the fire and was in NightClan, but Allaria was a pessimist, she'd only let herself believe it when she saw it. She rubbed her head against Blindfaith's in greeting before she even spared the brain power to process what she had said, "I'm so happy that you are OK... but... what's all this about being Soothsayer?!"
Upon hearing Blindfiath's declaration, Perfectpaw slipped away toward where Bloodystar had made his nest, no doubt to fetch the High Priest.
Honestpaw's ears perked up in interest as Faithpaw's voice rose above the light buzz of his clanmates idle chatting. He turned to give her his full attention. Be it that he had been too sheltered or just didn't pay attention before Faithpaw had disappeared was up to interpretation. Either way he almost couldn't keep his jaw from hitting the ground as he gazed upon who was without a doubt the most beautiful she-cat he'd ever laid his eyes on. She looked absolutely divine standing there with the sun shining down on her like she was Sun God's gift to this clan, and if what she was saying was true then she really was. Just like that Honestpaw was hook on her every word, his green eyes never waiver from her clouded gaze.
"Let's hear her out." he replied calmly to Soaringpaw. Without ever tearing his gaze away from Faithpaw the gray tabby instinctively stepped on his brother's tail firmly to keep Perfectpaw from moving. "Don't even think about it" he nearly growled under his breath so that only Perfectpaw could hear him.
"Soaringpaw," Faithpaw purred nuzzling into her sister, "You look so much older!" She said gasped, taking a look at her with a wide smile. She hadn't even recognized that she had done a bit of growing herself. "Oh um..." Her paw felt around her ear as she suddenly didn't feel like a warrior, but like- well Soaringpaw's "too nice for her own good," sister again. But her ears pricked when she heard Honestpaw's voice chime in. Turning around she met the toms gaze with a grateful expression, someone believes in me, "Right. I am the next soothsayer, Blindfaith, I have been training for sometime now, I wasn't ready before, but I am now. During the war I was taken prisoner by Flamingstar when I went after the front line soldiers. While I was in NightClan I gained knowledge of SunClan's danger on a spiritual level. The longer we stay here on MoonClan's land the more in danger we will be in, returning to our homeland is the best way to restore our spirits. Flamingstar was even gracious enough to allow me to leave to tell you this."
She searched the crowd wondering who would believe her. Or maybe no one would, she had never even seen a soothsayer in her life before, was she acting like one?
Angelicblood knew Faithpaw, had bullied her before too, she wasn't a soothsayer, too much of a pushover to be one. Though she didn't doubt that the she-cat believed she saw something, Faithpaw was too much of a goody too shoes to lie. Which meant there was some kind of danger coming even if Faithpaw didn't understand it. "Maybe we should go check back on the old camp then?" She suggested, sitting down next to Honestpaw, her adopted sibling on the level that Bloodystar looked after both of them.
Allaria and Perfectpaw both looked at Honestpaw as if he'd grown two heads. Allaria was the first one to speak, her cerulean eyes blazing at the tom for interrupting her reunion, "What do you think I'm doing, mouse-brain? She's my darling sister. Of course I'm going to hear her out."
Having said her piece, Allaria turned her attention back to Blindfaith. She was a little annoyed to be called Soaringpaw, but she was too happy to see her in good health, so she'd let it slide this time, "Duskslayer always says we keep growing like weeds. I thought he was being dramatic until now, but..." She would have kept talking but she saw a determined look in Blindfaith's eyes that caused her to fall silent. This allowed her sister to explain exactly what she meant about her new name and status. Personally Allaria didn't care for staying in MoonClan any longer anyway, SunClan had been her home long enough at this point that she knew she'd be happier there at least compared to here, but there was a problem that still needed addressed, "I mean, you have me sold, but isn't SunClan territory, like, totally infested by the Fire Nation? SunClan isn't ready for another battle so soon, they'll be slaughtered."
"Don't even thing about it? What do you mean by that?" Perfectpaw growled at his brother, his voice loud enough for any cat nearby to hear. He swatted the apprentice's paw off his tail but remained in place, not because he was doing what he was told but because he wanted to hear Honestpaw's reasoning. Perfectpaw literally could not understand his brother's actions just now. Let's hear her out? Isn't that exactly what getting Bloodystar would achieve? It was clearly what Blindfaith was after, why else would she return and call herself a Soothsayer? At any rate, it seemed moot now, as, out of the corner of his eye, Perfectpaw saw his adoptive father appear.
"What's this I hear about my new 'Soothsayer'?" One way or another, word have reached Bloodystar's ears that Blindfaith had returned. Initially he had approached toward the back of the crowd and just listened, but, after hearing what she had proposed, he decided to make his presence known. His celadon eyes bore into Blindfaith's unflinchingly as he now placed himself only a few lengths away from her, "The only cat qualified to train anyone in the ways of a Soothsayer is myself, much less some heretic in NightClan. You should listen to Soaringpaw. Believe me, I am doing everything I can to get SunClan home, but we only just recently buried our dead! We have three litters of newborn kits. We are wounded physically and spiritually. What we need more than anything right now is more time, and SunClan has been blessed with the chance to recover in safe territory, even if that territory belongs to our enemy. And besides..." He narrowed his eyes, "... Why should I trust anything you say? You may be the daughter of my Promised, but I'm no idiot. This could all be a ploy to force SunClan into some kind of trap..."
Honestpaw's green eyes widened in disbelief as his father called Faithpaw's declaration into question. "What reason would this beautiful goddess have to lie?" he turned on his adoptive father without a second thought. "Surely such an intelligent cat like herself would know lying to you would be a death wish. If Faithpaw says she's the Soothsayer I believe her." The large tom inched closer to Faithpaw but not close enough to touch her, ready to put himself between Bloodystar and Faithpaw if need be.
"You're an idiot, Honestpaw." Perfectpaw murmured, he probably would have made a bigger scene about being ignored had Bloodystar not been there. In the presence of their father, he decided to let it go.
"You should never blindly put faith in a cat based on her looks. A cat is defined by her actions," Bloodystar growled at Honestpaw, disappointment clearly etched on his face. It seemed he'd need to put that one into extra training, "Faithpaw's actions are suspicious... 'Kidnapped,' trained by our enemy, and sent back to us to, what, convince us to make ourselves vulnerable and return home to a trap?! Don't make me laugh!"
Bloodystar turned his back to Honestpaw. While he continued to speak to his adopted son, he was leveling his gaze at Faithpaw, "Yet, you still compare her to a Goddess... A Goddess of all things! Perhaps she is in league with the Moon Goddess, that wrecked creature certainly hasn't be there for MoonClan. At any rate... Faithpaw, if you admit that you're really a spy sent by our enemies, I will leave punishment up to your father. But if you continue to deny it, then I will see to your penalty personally."
Unseenlights emerged from the nursery, at the sound of her daughter’s voice ringing through camp. A purr rumbled in her throat, just happy to finally have Faithpaw back with the rest of their family. Duskslayer had promised to bring her back from NightClan. She couldn’t see how different her daughter looked but even if she had, she wouldn’t have cared. Faithpaw was still her daughter, no matter her appearance or what she choose to call herself.sure her claims may have seemed a little out there, but as Bloodystar spoke the fur along her spine began to prickle. She pushed her way through the crowd until she was able to join her daughter giving her a swift lick behind the ears her sightless eyes staring blankly to where she assumed Bloodystar to be standing “How ironic of you to say so, don’t you think?” She asked critically “You tell other not to give their faith blindly to others, and yet that is what you ask of those around you. To put their faith in you and the Sun God”
The long furred black she-cat stood side by side with her daughter “But we all know what happens to those that question you” her lip curling upwards slightly in disdain “You are so afraid and insecure, that you try to control those around you through fear and pain” she paused letting her fur brush against her daughter “ but Bloodystar, the thing about controlling others in such a vile manner is that those you control won’t stay afraid forever. When the realize that your power is merely an illusion, they will rise against you. My daughter has only came to help, but instead of allies all you see are enemies” she moved forward supporting Blindfaith “You will not punish my daughter for your own insecurities Bloodystar”
Faithpaw didn't look the least bit intimidated as Bloodystar made his appearance. Despite what she was warned she couldn't imagine Bloodystar as a dictator. He was always like an uncle to her, plus they came all this way to help him. Which was why his accusations took her aback so much, she practically held her breath hearing him call her a spy. She almost felt hurt, maybe would have felt hurt if not for what Honestpaw said. Her sky blue eyes moved to look at the apprentice the same time as Perfectpaw and Bloodystar looked back at him with the same amount of confusion. But hearing Bloodystar insult her further made her all the more grateful to at least have someone like Honestpaw defend her.
"I-" Faithpaw began, but shut her mouth immediately as Bloodystar listed out the consequences before her. She didn't feel like a soothsayer anymore, she felt like a kit that had the choice of apologizing or being punished. But before she could decide what to do her mother came to her rescue. She had spent every single night wishing her mom were there and now here she was. Faithpaw teared up leaning her entire body into her mother, she never wanted to let go, but felt happy to have a parent there than face Bloodystar alone.
"You have been acting a bit like a super villain," Duskslayer said after dropping his freshly caught prey into the freshkill pile. Walking past Bloodystar he gave his daughter a quick squeeze, his head resting on the back of Faithpaw's neck, enjoying their embrace, "Hey baby girl," He whispered before moving back to look at her with a big smile, "So much growing, what did they feed you in NightClan, my God," He smirked before licking the side of Faithpaw's cheek, "I'm so glad your back and Bloodystar is too, he just hasn't eaten yet. Besides" He said turning back to Bloodystar, "Since when have we ever been scared of a trap? I say we check it out and if it's a trap we beat them at their own game."
Scorchedwhisker couldn't help but roll his eyes, keeping towards the back of the crowd as he was prone to do. But his fur bristled slightly as he heard his high priest insult Selene. The cream-colored tom couldn't help it as he curled a lip ever so slightly. "Careful there, high priest." The warrior said as he flexed his claws. "I think we all know how vengeful the gods can be, including Selene. Is now really the time to be insulting her? The Sun God isn't here to protect us, and have you already forgotten Selene's reactions to our presence in this camp? Or are you really ready to invoke a second round of the horror brought on by the blue moon. For someone as... religious as you are, I would show a little more respect. A god is a god no matter who they protect. Besides, what proof do you have that she's not the next soothsayer? We all know Faithpaw- well, Blindfaith. What reason does she have to lie to us?"
"Scorchedwhisker is right." Weed said from where she sat outside the nursery, her tail curled neatly around her paws. "We've no proof that what Faithpaw says isn't true. Perhaps the Sun God is trying to return to us through this young and capable she-cat. Are we so foolish as to turn away what could be a blessing in disguise?" The tortoiseshell commented, her green eyes glinting slightly. "Not to mention, we can use a soothsayer right about now. Duskslayer, and yourself of course, can only do so much when it comes to treating injured cats. Perhaps we can send a small patrol of cats to investigate our camp? The Moon goddess has made it quite clear that we are not welcomed in her land."
Honestpaw couldn't fight back the growl that rumbled in his chest and rose to his throat. He didn't care if his father and brother thought him an idiot. Nor did he care if the entirety of SunClan openly mocked him for his declaration. Ever since he was a kit he had trouble making friends due to his blunt honesty. He wasn't so delusional to believe that no cat ever told lies but he did know in situations like this it was always easier to tell the truth than lie.
"Just because you have trust issues doesn't make everyone else a liar. Instead of throwing out accusations why not give Blindfaith a chance to explain herself?" he challenged. "Or are you just afraid you're not The Sun God's only chosen?"
"I don't believe her just because she's beautiful, I believe her because she's not a liar, and when she walked in the sun shone down on her brighter than it has been since we stepped foot on MoonClan land."

Unseenlights leaned into her daughter's warmth, her fluffy tail gently laid across her back as Duskslayer returned. She pressed her nose to his cheek "Perhaps you can put some sense into that empty head of his" she wasn't sure if her daughter was the next soothsayer, but what she did know is that her daughter believed it to be so "Fai..Blindfaith" she corrected, if that is what she wanted to call herself than she wanted to honor that "I am just happy to have you home once again" she nuzzled her gently "I can't wait to hear all about what has happened while you have been away" she smiled as Duskslayer commented on how much she had grown "They didn't mistreat you I hope" Faith

Over the past moon, Dancingpaw had become a quiet follower--burying her doubts deep inside of herself and ultimately, becoming an empty shell of a cat. With her family gone and her betrothed as distant as the Sun God himself, no one had really paid her state any mind and the few that had, had gotten absolutely no where with her. So it was shocking that now, the apprentice could register what was going on around her. Perhaps it was the insults being hurled their leader's way that proved to get under her skin? In any case, she felt a faint sense of anger creeping through her veins and slowly, she lifted her amber gaze to the last cat to speak out against Bloodystar: Honestpaw. Although, her words were directed at everyone.
"We know for a fact that Bloodystar was chosen by the Sun God, so why is it that you're all so eager to battle his authority every chance you get? After what we've been through, is it really so wrong to be cautious?" As soon as the words started rolling from her mouth, the fieriness of her personality began to rapidly return, and she walked to Bloodystar's side to emphasize her support for the tom. If no one else would speak in his favor, then she would. "This isn't just about him! He's trying to protect us all, as a leader should. But apparently anything he says or does for this clan is worth name calling and public ridicule! If we're going to discuss our options, we can at least do so respectfully."
"After all we've been through because of him you mean?" This time it wasn't Honestpaw who spoke up but Earthpaw, the warrior aged apprentice made his way to the front of the crowd his dark brown eyes found Dancingpaw instantly. It was times like this that he questioned whether or not they would ever be married.
"He's the reason we got driven from our home and the reason we got attacked by the dead in this cursed land. He mutilated Littlestar in front of everyone and you still believe none of this is his fault? And here I thought you might actually be one of the smart ones" he growled. Flurryofstars
"Maybe we should listen to Bloodystar?" Aurorasky spoke up hesitantly, moving to join the cats who stood by Bloodystar in support. "The zombies seemed to be a one off incident so far, whatever MoonClan did to this land obviously wore off. I know it sucks here but... We have no idea what's waiting for us back home." As she spoke the young warriors voice got quieter and quieter until she was straining to make herself heard. Her ears and pelt burning with embarrassment once she realized she had called attention to herself.
"Yeah what's worse, seeking refuge on enemy territory or blindly following an apprentice into the heart of our enemy?" Hemlockshadow spoke up in his leader's defense the older warrior had enough of listening to these apprentices bicker "Maybe you kids should leave the decision making up to the adults. It's clear most of you don't understand the gravity of the situation."

"We may as well do the small patrol. Worst happens and we at least know they're still there." Fawnhysteria shrugged from his spot in the middle of the crowd. He was brought here, indoctrinated kinda. It was a shame he and his siblings were so bull-headed. The calico kept his opinions of Bloodystar to himself, finding himself indifferent to that side of the argument.
"Oh no, NightClan was always nice to me, I had to sleep in the prison, but I had a nice nest and good prey," Faithpaw promised her mother, but looked pleased that everyone was calling her by her warrior name. If Bloodystar would accept her name then it would be official even if she was too young to be a real warrior.
Duskslayer smirked at Unseenlight's comment kissing her across the cheek he whispered her an okay before turning back to the crowd. Duskslayer's turquoise gaze resting on Dancingpaw with amusement, "Thank-you for that impassioned speech Dancingpaw, we will definitely keep you in mind when choosing member of the month. But SunClan code states that we are the guardians of our sacred lands from intruders. A four clan war against us and one zombie hoard attack later we're still standing so if that's not a sign that we're meant to live I don't know what is. But if we're meant to live it's not here, it's time to check back home. Whatever lies there it's our job to fight to stay there. Nothing worth fighting for is easy, that's why we're Sun Gods chosen, if anyone could do it then anyone could be a SunClan cat. You have all earned the right to say that you are lion hearted zombie slayers so if you truly have the blood of the sun burning through your veins come with me to patrol our homelands. Come with me and know that whatever lies in our canyon should fear us, the undying sun army that could vanquish the unkillable!"

Unseenlights smiled, leaving the rest to her mate before turning to her daughter "Your father will help get some cats together, how about we go and catch up? A lot happened while you were gone" her ear flickered towards Duskslayer as he mentioned the undead which would probably be rather confusing to someone who hadn't been there "We have some new family members that you need to meet, and I want to hear all about your adventure" Faith
"No." Bloodystar growled firmly, ushering in a hush among the riled crowd. If he was honest with himself, an expedition back to SunClan territory wasn't a bad idea. He hadn't formally begun planning a patrol but it was something he'd see happening soon whether Blindfaith told him so or not. But that was the problem. Blindfaith. She disappeared during the raid, only coming back after the Clan had faced numerous horrors, in better shape than any other cat present and woefully overconfident. How did she escape NightClan? If the Sun God was dead, how was she receiving any type of message at all? Some of his Warriors were smart enough to see the obvious holes in her story, but most were not, which left Bloodystar as the bad guy yet again, as Duskslayer pointed out. It hurt him greatly for his best friend to call him a villain even in jest...
"I do not trust her. Our enemies are numerous and she has not convinced me that she is not one of them. For that reason, I forbid any SunClan cat from leaving MoonClan's territory without my express permission. We will remain here until the Sun God sends a sign to me directly," He turned his celadon eyes to Duskslayer, although he was still addressing the entire Clan, "The Janus will be in charge of Faithpaw's imprisonment and punishment. They may use whatever means necessary to get her to reveal what she knows about the Fire Nation. No one may speak with her without at least one Janus present."
Duskslayer facepalmed himself, took a long breath, already feeling the Janus's eyes turn onto him, he shook his head. "No, you heard Bloodystar. Go find some sticks in the woods and then we will just stab them in the ground circling her and then no one look at her. Even though there's over a hundred of us in a camp meant to hold one of the lowest population sizes in the forest, just avert your eyes. Here I'll get us started," He said, wobbling a stick in his paw before batting it into the ground, "Okay, that's our starting point team, now get out there and find some sticks." Cause y'know, it wasn't like MoonClan had a prison, but that was probably too big of a concept for Bloodystar to understand so gathering sticks it was.
Blindfaith raised her paw asking a question, "Can Dappledbreeze accompany me to see some new family members?" cookie
"But maybe this is the Sun God trying to reach us! This land is terrible!" Resilientbloom mumbled, the janus's ears flattened. She still recalled the injuries poor Ferventpaw had sustained thanks to the dead rising.
But Bloodystar would not be moved by Blindfaith's words. Maybe Resilientbloom could talk to her. If Blindfaith er- Faithpaw, was supposed to be the Soothsayer she'd have to go to the secret place in dreams.
Resilientbloom would just have to ask her about it at some point. But... sneakily.
She turned to Duskslayer and tilted her head. "Why do we need sticks?" She asked confused.
