Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"Goldenstar, Lionpaw is my kin, how many more times must I prove myself that I am trustworthy? I gave DayClan an army in their time of need, I stayed loyal during the battle in SunClan, I stuck up for DayClan cats even when I had to talk back to Flamingstar, I'm your Immortal Council member. What have I done wrong besides admit that I love my step mother Flamingstar? I am a good caregiver, if you're not going to let me raise Lionpaw you have to tell me why. I won't accept suspicion as an answer, I want undeniable proof that I'm not fit to take care of them," Tigerlily demanded, hardly able to keep her fur flat.
So Snowthorn got into a heated argument because his ex had kits with another tom? Why is Snowthorn the bad guy, she cheated on him, yet everyone was taking Sweetiepeach's side. The deputy even praising Mysteryleaf for using violence than her words. But of course Fia would take Sweetiepeach's side, Glowstar's side of the family always stuck together. Little miss perfectly violent Fia was of course, way more fit to care for kits despite no one EVER seeing her care for her kits. But herself? No, she was unfit, a daughter of a serial killer like Kotori who never did any acts of violence would always be seen as lesser then. But despite being brought up by the biggest cynic couple in the forest she still stared Goldenstar down, hoping to be wrong.
Burningsummer sat off to the side, the ginger she cat having entered late to the commotion. She overheard Mysteryleaf's words, and Goldenstar's decision.
Personally she agreed, Mysteryleaf deserved to be reprimanded for acting out. She shouldn't have taken the matter into her claws rather than go fetch an imperial or Goldenstar right away.
Burningsummer was more inclined to doubt Tigerlily, she hadn't had many interactions with Snowthorn as he never saw fit to engage with her and neither she him. Mysteryleaf's actions of violence made her uncertain to take her word for it.
She frankly still didn't trust Tigerlily in a position of power. Especially not after her exchange with Flamingstar, but what about raising a young cat?
'Well I saw how Flamingstar handled raising Creampuff, will Tigerlily be the same?' Burningsummer wondered narrowing her eyes, that anger that had prompted her to shove Flamingstar into the fire flaring up at the memory. If Tigerlily held similar thoughts for how to raise a cat she absolutely should not be the sole raiser...
But in this case, Burningsummer had no proof. While Flamingstar may have raised Creampuff callously and discarded her own kits, to immediately presume Tigerlily would do the same was wrong.
Flamingstar might have said she was willing to put a puppet in charge. But she hadn't provided anything that would allow Burningsummer to presume Tigerlily would take similar actions while responsible for a young one.
Fortunately Burningsummer was saved from having to butt in and make the situation worse by Rubyflame.
"Tigerlily," Rubyflame said gently. "This is not an attack on your ability as a caregiver. But the tom is now an apprentice, and is surrounded by family here. He doesn't need to be claimed by anyone alone. No one is denying you the ability to care for him, and be his kin. You just have to accept you cannot be the sole responsibility of him. This way Goldenstar can best discern how much support he needs, and go from there. He doesn't need to be locked into a singular family unit, he is a welcome addition to DayClan."
The ginger and white she cat let out a purr. "Glowstar would be proud that another of her kin has come home to DayClan, and we should all welcome him together."

Goldenstar tried not to let her expression falter. It was hard to be neutral in times like this, with Tigerlily begging her to trust her. And Goldenstar wanted to, but she couldn't callously dismiss Mysteryleaf's concerns. It was like just taking the toy a pair of kids are fighting over. She didn't want Lionpaw and Heavenlykit to be torn apart at the seams. She didn't have that proof.
The leader bit on her lip for a moment, feeling it quiver between her teeth as she thought. Then Rubyflame spoke up, and once again Goldenstar was saved by someone else. It was always someone like Fia, Jetstar back at the gathering, now Rubyflame right now. It ate at the insecurity that had taken her over. "I agree." Goldenstar looked back up at Tigerlily, "If they desire to be joined into a family unit, then let's give them a few days to settle down and think about it." She'd have to thank the once Immortal Council member once this was over.
"Don't start with me Rubyflame," Tigerlily said, her voice was low, drawn out like echoes of pouring rain, "No one else in this clan would volunteer to raise your family for you without even volunteering your help. It's easy to claim to be good when you act like everyone who's got a bitter bone is bad, so go ahead, pat yourselves on the back."
Tigerlily turned her back on them as she returned back to her mates side, not sparing anyone else a look.
