Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"Hmm, well, it's not as menacing as Nightmarestar, but it is better than Nightmarepaw." Her answer didn't surprise him. It was the same choice Crow had made when he left the clans, shedding his suffix and severing the last cord that connected him to his old life. He gestured for her to follow him and turned to lead her the way he'd come, away from the secret-bearing skull and SunClan's ravaged land.
Nightmarestar? Nightmare hadn't thought of being leader before! She only wanted to take out her mother so that her and her sister could live in peace within the clans. She lingered behind a moment longer, looking back toward the clans, a wicked grin spreading across her face. Her mother was a leader. If she were to take out her mother, she could be leader and Nightmarestar would be born. Suddenly, a new feeling arose inside. A hunger for power and revenge. It was bittersweet and she enjoyed the taste...
Turning, she followed Crow, catching up to walk in sync with him. Anxiety replaced that short moment of a bittersweet revenge when she began to wonder what the others would think of her. Would they accept her or find her a threat for being an elemental? "What...what are the others like? Would they accept me?"
Crow was unaware of the plots toiling in her mind and the vengeance planting new roots in her heart, and he certainly was not aware that his offhanded remark watered and nourished those plans. He only knew what was in the present and before him, noting Nightmare's anxiety like it was an old friend, having experienced the same feeling when he'd first decided to form a gang. He hoped to put that at ease. "Well, they're certainly an...interesting group," he began. "There's Yumemi, the resident healer and the first to join up with me. She's a character on her own, but she's with me no matter what. After her came Hawthorne. He looks a lot more menacing than he is and a great teacher. Orion and Cygnus are brothers but they couldn't be more different; Orion is very thoughtful and wiser than most of us, where Cygnus is gung-ho and itching for action. There's also Daisy and Chimera," it was here his tone changed, infinitely more fond as he thought of the twins, "who also came from the twoleg nests. They're the youngest and so full of life. Their aunt is Shadeflower in SunClan, so sometime soon I will be taking them back here to see her and for them to decide what they want out of their future." Crow would be sad to see them go if that's what they chose, but that decision would be their own.
Nightmare's fur crawled at the thought of other females being part of his gang and she couldnt understand why. It made her...uncomfortable and another new feeling arose. It wasn't bittersweet like the previous one. This one was rather sickening and it made it feel as if a cold stone was sitting in the pit of her stomach. She almost felt like she was going to vomit and her heart beat was hard, she could feel the thump from her chest all the way to her tail. Though, she just couldn't understand the reasoning. Was she afraid of losing Crow? Did she have feelings for this tom? He was her best friend. It would be strange to fall in love with her best friend. Yet...he made her feel warm, comforted, light and the thought of another she-cat being as close to him as she was made her fur burn. "That's...nice. Looks like you got yourself quite a group. In such a short amount of time, too. Your a natural born leader."
